Through this project we brought our voices and perspectives together to create a series which blends our aesthetics, politics, and attitudes. "Guest List" is about the "Guest List" as a status metaphor of nowadays. One of the questions I had when writing this tune was not only about why is it so necessary to be on the list, but also about what or who represents the club you want to get in to. It’s a bit of a multi-layered perspective I wanted to drop on this subject, because I had realized that it’s like a repeated pattern of hidden classism and separation we experience everyday, defined by different social and political factors which can be against our default  - like where we come from and who we are. Coming from a country that doesn’t belong to the EU Club for example always means you have to be on the other queue at the airport, watching everyone passing you by. If you at all make it to an airport. If not, you’re probably gonna be standing on even longer and shittier lines first, until you can get to some other lines. I’ve been in countries (I won’t say names) where they didn’t even had Bulgaria on their list when typing in my passport data. These are all only examples of the political separation one can feel being a part of, when not belonging to a certain "club". 
And it’s always the step of being on a "Guest List" that could provide you a short-cut trespassing and let you temporarily forget your problems.

One of the universal experiences of the “Guest List” problematic is in form of a party-situation. For the video of “Guest List” we went to my home country Bulgaria. The decision to film there was not really free from social and political reflection. I wouldn’t go deeper in describing the political situation over there, because I am not acting from inside there and I don’t suffer from it in my everyday life. All I can say about it is that the situation is totally based on the “Guest List” and connections-system. 
For the video I wanted to portrait the most contrast-vibed events, happening there every year in May - the Prom Night Celebrations. Those parties symbolize  the ultimate wish to be a Queen/King for a day and clash completely with the social reality over there. Limousines are being rent out and parked under the blocks, crazy amount of money is being spent often in surroundings that do not actually match the party setup. In my eyes the Prom Night events there are (at least visually) carrying the whole problematic of the wish for being on the “Guest List” as a temporary placebo for the feeling of success.

There is so much more and personal stuff to it too, but I won’t go deeper. All I can say is, I never went to my prom night.
