I 100% agree with the last anon talking about AOC laws but I just want to remind everyone that 1)practically all consent laws involving minors is ABOUT MinorXMinor NOT MinorXAdult relations{its still v illegal for a 20 and 15 y/o to have sex and 2)Japan's FEDERAL age MINIMUM is 13 meaning no districts can set the age LOWER(most Japanese districts have it set as 15-17 like most other countries) Also you arent really seen as an adult in Japan until you're 20 so IDK bout those 18 y/o hs schoolers.

if you see a country with an age of consent law at, like, lower than 16, 99% of the time it’s to protect minors having sex with one another from having to register as sex offenders or anything like that, and does not include minors having sex with anyone at the actual legal age of adulthood.
