Wanted to make something new although the program is kinda picky so this is the best I can do with Magic Set Editor. I wanted them to look like a page out of a spellbook. Also the abilities need to be worked out a bit but it’s just a general idea I had.

In response to the recent buy out frenzy of Magic: the Gathering Cards, a.k.a. Shkreli's List, I have created a survey for people to express their opinion of the current Reserved List Policy.

From the survey’s Title Page:

“The following survey is to assess public opinion of the Magic: the Gathering Community regarding Wizards of the Coast’s Reserved List Policy. So, thank you for your interest in the subject and taking the time to share your thoughts. The official policy can be reference at the following link:

Official WotC Reserved List Policy

This survey is three questions long. Each question is multiple choice with a section to optionally write-in explanations or justifications for each answer. The first question is whether or not the Reserved List should be discontinued, and the second question regards other options that could be taken outside removing the Reserved List Policy. The third and final question asks if you would change your answer to the first question based on the second question. Feel free to answer each question candidly as this is all hypothetical. The survey will run from July 11th, 2016 to July 19th, 2016 at 11:59 PM (EST). I have opted within the survey builder for the survey to be completed anonymously. All raw information provided through selecting a multiple choice answer will be public immediately following your completion of the survey as I have enabled instant sharing. All information through the the write-in sections will not be made viewable; summaries of the write-in information may be provided with any personal or identifying information of an individual removed, which I would appreciate if it was not provided in the first place.

There is no need to tag Wizards of the Coast or any of their employees that have an online presence for this post. This post is geared solely for the community so that we can start to get a clearer picture on where the Community as a whole stands in regards to the Reserved List Policy as it stands now.

What people can do besides reblogging this is to share this link/survey far and wide across the internet over the next week. Whether it’s in your Magic Forum signatures or comments, local Facebook groups, word of mouth at your Local Game Stores and playgroups, or… I guess even YouTube comments, the further and wider this survey reaches the community, the more accurate of a picture that it can paint.

Ooh, cool. I really like these.

Level Up on a land seems like a useful idea in general, actually; I’ve always wanted lands that represented structures and cities you could build.

Anyway, can I convince you to use the “Custom Magic Card” tag going forward? It’d make your work easier for people to see.

I was going to comment on how these don’t work the way you want them to, but I noticed the 1+. Nice.

I like these quite a bit. I suggest you find and install the colorless mana update to MSE, though. “T: Add 1″ no longer exists!

I had never thought of anything like this. It has good flavor and mechanics. I like how it can level itself up.

I would suggest you try and change the power/toughness of each land to reflect more flavor and balance. For example, maybe Mountainous prairie should be a 4/2 and Black Forest should be a 2/5. Other than that, I love the design! :)

Last year when I made them I gave them each the same P/T because I was still new to the design space. Using magic set editor for the first time also was a pain trying to figure out all the different things I could do with the tools available. I made these when they first announced Battle for Zendikar because I wanted enemy man lands and thought it be a cool way to incorporate the level up mechanic again. My tumblr page I posted one of the original dual lands but I did make the whole set along with some other valuable lands in the expedition frame. Unfortunately I spend most my time as the head admin for Magic the Gathering Rocks My World and post all my new stuff there. I mostly only use tumblr for new memes and news.

I actually made these cards way before the new colorless mana symbol was introduced into magic set editor. It was just a fun idea I had at the time when Battle for Zendikar was first introduced. I thought it would be a cool way to bring the level system back. Although I don't use tumblr that much to post my stuff like I was going too I can use that tag going forward. Also the names are just generic throw-ins as I wanted to showcase the card design most.
