“Espeon you mean,” he argued, grinning as he turned towards her. “Flareon doesn’t stand a chance.”

“Can’t be. I just got here.” He said, with a shrugged. “We can always have him get fired for unsanitary conditions.” Nate said, whipping out his phone.

“Why would she do that?” He turned to Miguel, an eyebrow cocked.

“You don’t have to.” Rebecca laughed as she kept her own phone held at her side, fingers rolling against it every now and then. “Shame dude. Not even a good evolution either when you get enough.”

“You know what’s a shame? The fact that Sylveon isn’t even an option in this game. I can’t even get my favorite evolution even if I wanted.”

“What the hell..” Elijah sighed and pushed the drink back to the other end of the bar, “I didn’t do anything to the bartender.”

“I don’t know man. I’m just telling you what I saw.” He paused. “Did you cheap out on the tip?”

“Taste it,” Miguel said, sliding the bowl forward. “With an open mind. If you don’t think this is two weeks old with dish washer soup or actual piss in it, I’ll drop it.”

“Charming,” Anastasia slammed the drink on the counter, rolling back her shoulders and preparing to yell at the bartender before catching herself. She should probably acknowledge the stranger who noticed. “Thank you. I would buy you a drink, but, well…”

“It’s okay. I’d buy you one, but she’s not much fond of me either,” he admitted, watching the bartender turn. “Must be something about warning all their customers. But I come anyway. Something about the ambiance. Maybe the company.”

“You know I’ll never believe you now,” Miguel said, yet stopped in his tracks when he felt his phone vibrate. He looked down eagerly but his expression fell. “It’s just another Rattata.”

“It was genuinely such a shock when I got out the shower and found one. Naked pokemon catching is something I definitely needed.”

“I don’t know what's more fascinating. The fact that you found a pokemon in the shower, or the fact that you decided to open the app while taking a shower.”
