What do you think of the criminal in sweet home?
That's a wide range of questions. I was worried about how to answer. Because English is not my first language, it is actually quite difficult and takes a lot of time and effort to exchange my thoughts into English. So here are some of the fragmentary thoughts about the criminal characters that I wrote on Twitter a few days ago. I'll use the power of the translator to reuse them...^^
※This post contains spoilers.
I don't know why, but Carnby Kim became more hasty towards the latter half of the story and gave a sloppy ending. If the author intended to kill them all for no reason and get them out, why did he bring in a whole bunch of new characters (criminals)?
The death of Jayhun or other Green Home characters (Myeong - ja, Wook (not wook pyeon), Dusik Han, Seop Ahn, Seon Ahn, Seok Kim, and Jay Ryu) in the first half was a foundation for the story progression, or led to the psychological change or growth of the characters, and was a sacrifice for a reason.
However, In the second half, Ji - eun, Sang-su (I don't know his exact English name) and criminals (except Gapsu.....^^) were simply murdered by the writer meaninglessly.
I may be taking this too skeptical, but I can't get away from the idea that criminals were just used to increase one-off tensions through confrontation with Greenhome, and to increase the volume in the second half. Personally, I think the only significant effect of the appearance of criminals was encouragement of Hyuk's monsterization.
Ihyun had helped Green Home both in terms of supplies (asthmatic respirator) and combat power, and his special state of semi-monster has aroused a lot of interest in readers. But I didn't feel much that he was 'in' the story. I can't believe the writer doesn't even describe Ihyun's past. Moreover, his end is even more absurd. His death is not logically convincing.
Why did Joon Shin, who hated monsters so much, choose to become monster just because he wanted to live? This is very out of the blue. Personally, I think this is a serious breakdown of character settings. I can't erase the feeling that the writer just made a provocative final boss and then made the main character play the last role and finish the work.
I don't know if it's the answer you wanted. The content is gibberish because these are a series of fragmentary and brief ideas. I'm sorry about this. Maybe I could have analyzed each of the five criminals, but it's too hard for me to do that. (English is very difficult for me.)
