We’re thoroughly analysing Sexy Zone’s charming points which capture all their fan’s hearts!

Sou: Valentine’s is the day when we confess our love but I wonder which of the member’s parts are responsible for capturing our fan’s hearts. Fuma: Well, I guess there are many parts… Marius: Probably Kenty’s confidence. Because his aura radiates strong determination, that strength is liked by all the fans. Sou: That’s right. His manners towards women is expressed in a proper way. Because he’s Nakajima Kento he’s able to combine kindness with coolness. Looking at such an image, it makes you feel like you want to be protected and spoiled by him. Shori: Kenty… he’s like a caramel brûlée (laughing). Somehow you want to eat him up unintentionally, like sweets. Isn’t it like you become addicted to it? That’s right (t/n: in English)! Kento: Suddenly it sounded like you came from abroad (laughing). I wonder if you can become addicted to it. Marius: For Kenty life is like a brûlée already. Kento: That expression is great. I would like you to explain it. Marius: The outside is crispy but on the inside you’re super soft… Fuma: To be specific, you will feel warm with his sweet words after all. With that, I’m sure your heart will be captured. t/n: (from tangorin) tsundere = being on the surface sharp and sarcastic (tsuntsun) but underneath lovestruck and fawning (deredere), characteristic of a gap between acted out actions and feelings in mind.

My level of tsundere

Shori: It’s pretty high. You can see it well in the way I handle Marius (laughing). Regardless of gender, it’s embarrassing to fawn on somebody. So the way I tease Marius, I guess it’s not really different from the way I’d treat girls. Because I’d prefer a girl who loves herself (laughing). I’ll be kind in general but when I like you I will mainly tease you and be loving occasionally… That would be my style (laughing). But me teasing you is only proof of my mindfulness. „Even so, it looks like we can get along well“, if my partner thinks like that it’ll be fine. In romance or in work, a „fun atmosphere“ is very important!

Sou: In my normal life, my tsundere level towards girls is close to zero. „It’s the only person I can be tsundere towards to!“, I can only declare this to be true about Marius (laughing). Since Marius was a child before, I would call him „Mariussssss“ in front of everyone, I was amazed at my lovingly care. But recently Marius has totally grown up, right? It’s getting embarrassing to spoil him like that, so I try to put on a colder attitude on purpose. Then Marius starts whining and calling „Ne, ne, Sou-chan!“. When I see Marius behave like that, inside my heart I think „So far it’s going well“ (laughing).

Marius: I’m often told „Marius’s level of tsundere is strong“ by others. Since I sulk easily, it seems like that’s the reason why people think that (laughing). But I think that is a little different from the original „tsundere“ meaning. The people who often tease me though are Fuma-kun and Shori-kun! (In reply, Shori who is sitting behind him bumps Marius’ chair from behind on purpose) See, that’s what I mean! I have to sulk because he keeps doing things like that. (Now Shori gets up and stands right next to Marius to keep staring at his face intensely) …Come on, I don’t know the meaning of this (laughing)! However him teasing me like that, it’s annoying but it still makes me happy. When he’s being kind to me, he’s really kind though… wait, what? Rather than talking about me, this turned into a talk about Shori-kun’s tsundere side (laughing)!

Kento: I guess towards girls I can be quite tsundere. But for people who are expecting „Kurosaki-kun~“, it won’t be to that extent (laughing). Since I think I want to tease the girl I like, I won’t always be sweet. Some people might say „I want to be swayed by my girlfriend“ but I’m the complete opposite. When it comes to love I want to be superior… I also have a fundamental desire like that.

Fuma: When it comes to girls, I’m not really lovey-dovey. You can expect me being tsuntsun but not dere (laughing). Of course, I won’t be fawning or crying… I don’t think I will do those things. If I did that, I think I would get beaten up by the girl’s father (laughing). However, when I let my guard down I think I will say things like „You look ugly today~“. I like people with that kind of gap. Even with our male and female staff members, I like people who can handle people like me. If I have a partner like that, I’ll be able to let the really harsh Fuma come out. If you return the opposite and be really lovingly towards me still, I think you’re genuine about me then.

My ideal level of tsundere in a girl

Shori: I think it’s cute when a girl is peevish but I’ll be troubled if she’s seriously angry at me. When I am at fault I will properly apologise in a gentlemanly way. When we fight because of something small where we can say „I don’t mind it“, then it’s okay to poke fun at each other. But people who are generally „tsun“, I can’t deal with that. As expected, I want her to be kind. Eh, which level of „dere“ do I want her to be? Well… that’s a secret (laughing). I’m too embarrassed to reveal such a thing so I’m not telling (laughing)!

Sou: Deep inside my heart I will be hurt by cold behaviour but I don’t necessarily dislike tsundere people. For example, people who don’t take action by themselves. When I say „Hey, well… I’m kind of hungry“, and the girl replies „Eh, you want me to make something?“ (laughing). Then I will say „Eh, you don’t want to?“, to which she will reply „…I guess it can’t be helped“, and finally take action. I’m attracted to that type of girl rather than someone who says „Aren’t you hungry? Shall I make you something?“ from the beginning. After that when we say goodbye, I will text her a message saying „I want to see you again“, to which she would say „That guy~ Even though I was this tsuntsun just a few moments ago~“, I think that would make me happy (laughing).

Marius: I think it’s cute when girls are angry. I think in that situation I would mess with her a little if she lets me. I don’t want her to get seriously angry at me though, it would make me happy if she can take a joke and pout a little. But next time when I say „Ahh, my shoulders are stiff from studying!“, I want her to say „Well, can’t be helped“ as she starts giving me a massage. „It feels really stiff“, she would say and I would reply „Really? Thank you. That was quite easy“. I feel okay with a mild tsundere like that.

Kento: I don’t really like it. When it comes to tsundere women, my mother is enough for me (laughing). She’s really scary. There’s a story when I was in middle school that I’ll never forget. While I was talking on the phone for a long time with a friend, she banged on my room’s door and yelled „Until when are you going to phone!“ with a loud, angry voice. „She’s shouting while I’m on the phone!?“, I thought that while being surprised. Well, I was on the phone for eight hours so I understand (laughing). Compared to me, she’s able to voice her opinions in a harsh way… that’s her way of a warm welcome. After that when I feel down, I might feel happy again if you can tell me something like „Hey, cheer up! I will hit you if you don’t!“

Fuma: Because I’m a tsundere type, I think I would be annoyed if my girl is like that as well and I’d say things like „Shut up~“ and „Eh, what the hell are you saying?“, so wouldn’t it feel like a normal fight (laughing)? When it comes to love, I think I want to be „the stronger one“. Ah, but when you say something like „Eh, today’s your birthday? I forgot!… Just kidding ♪~“, if you’re a cute tsundere like that, I might forgive you (laughing).

A good winter story♡

Shori: Winter itself is the best! I really like winter. First of all the air is refreshing and it’s not damp and humid. I could complain about humidity forever… I’m that type of person (laughing). The outside locations are surely cold but in that case I will take six heat packs with me before I go out! Also I’d wear a coat in this season, I can be fashionable as well. Food is delicious too. When it comes to winter food I like hot pot although it’s plain. The mizutaki I ate in Hakata was delicious. I am simple but rather than eating mizutaki in Tokyo, the collagen level there is amazing! Ah, is it already March? Then we’re one step closer to the damp and humid summer. Seriously, I’ll be depressed from now on (laughing).

Sou: It seems that during winter love will deepen. The city has pretty illuminations and there are many events going on. Since it’s cold you can warm yourselves together under a kotatsu, you can walk outside holding hands and you can share a scarf together, right? If it was summer you would say something like „It’s hot! Get away from me!“ (laughing).

Marius: I like winter in Germany! Growing up in Heidelberg, I liked the amount of snow during winter, there are many stalls gathered by the square and the Christmas market is built there as well. „Is this real?“, I feel like that every time, it becomes a beautiful and romantic landscape. The stalls sell delicious waffles and German cakes and all the adults drink mulled wine. But I also like the New Year’s holidays in Japan. I really like osechi and other New Year’s dishes!

Kento: I like love stories set in winter. It’s the season to long for other people, so watching a love story is going to warm you up and you will feel satisfied afterwards, right? Eh, you can’t oppose your romantic orientation (laughing)? When that topic came up on „HonmadekkaTV“, (Akashiya) Sanma-san talked about it as well. That topic came up before already but recently it has become more open. As long as there is fun in love, won’t it be accompanied by troubles, worries and suffering too? But when I see happy couples in the city, I think „Wow~ I want to have a romance like that too!“, so that turns into suffering in a way (laughing). I wonder which suffering is better?

Fuma: When work is done I love getting home to take a bath and then eating ice cream after. During summer I like a refreshing popsicle but in winter I love eating ice cream. It’s cold outside but when I just get out of the bath I feel quite hot so I go to my freezer to see which ice cream flavours I keep there and I pick one that I’m in the mood for. By the way, I think today I’m in the mood for matcha. I want Sexy Zone to try doing a CM for ice ream. Although I say it myself, wouldn’t it suit us pretty well? But not a „bright and cheerful“ kind, I’d much rather do a CM with a mature atmosphere. Not only Nakajima but all of us should have some sweet lines (laughing)!

Something that’s not good for me

Shori: I guess music. I love it too much, I can’t go without it. There was a time when I gathered my music loving friends in a studio and we did a band session together but then before I noticed, it was already early morning… my words now, does it really sound like I’m a bandsman (laughing)? We talked about music, practised various techniques and only did a short break in the middle of the night to go to a shop to get something small to eat. Time flew by in the blink of an eye. I thought I have to make sure to get enough hours of sleep, however it just turned out to be such an enjoyable time for me. It’s okay to do that once in a while, right?

Sou: Floor heating. Even in midwinter I can walk on it barefoot while wrapped in a blanket, so I feel cosy super quickly. But that’s not good. Even if there is my bed right next to me and it’s the optimal thing to sleep on, I’m scared to get on my bed since I know it’s cold. Before I realise it, I’ve spent the whole night on my heated floor until the morning… I often had that happen to me. I really turned into a „hopeless case“, it’s terrible (laughing). I’m afraid of that, so recently I always hesitate for a moment before I switch on the floor heating (laughing).

Marius: Tangerines and gummies. I eat way too much of these! Originally, gummies are German sweets. That’s why when I have gummies at hand, I will eat the whole bag. When I was little my mum used to tell me „If you eat too many tangerines, your whole body will turn orange and you’ll become an orange human being“, so I was seriously scared (laughing).

Kento: Strong romance. Well, I talk a lot about romance today (laughing). I only think about work 100%, so I think it (thinking about romance) will disappear eventually. That’s why when I long for a strong romance, it’s a little scary. Recently I’ve been asked about romantic ideas on television and in magazines a lot so I start thinking about dispatching it properly. I need a relationship, please (laughing).

Fuma: When taking a bath, while I wash my body and my hair, I often leave the shower on… I guess it’s that thing. Because during this time it’s super cold in the bathroom. It’s only during the winter so forgive me! A few moments ago I told you “I eat ice cream after getting out of the bath” but sometimes I even eat it while I’m inside the bath. I set the bath’s temperature to 42°C, then the cold ice cream tastes even better! It’s really a luxurious time. During that time I will return home all happy… My behaviour is bad but still this has become a crucial time for me.

Sexy Zone questionnaire (part two)

Questions about fashion

1) What is your fashion style like? Shori: It’s all about balance between my top and bottom clothes. Because if I wear clothes made out of good material, it will never be worn out of shape even if I wear it all the time. Until a while ago I was addicted to oversized pants but recently I often choose skinny jeans. Sou: I try to be different from the members with an individual, androgynous style. It’s different so people don’t understand it (laughing). „You’re dressed like that again“, I often get teased by Fuma-kun. Marius: It’s about balance. I decide it according to that day’s mood and the weather, I think about the colour, design and material to balance it out! Kento: I think about design the most. I don’t want it to be similar to others, I like a flashy, individual design for me. Fuma: Because I like wearing loose clothes on top, I always buy the biggest available size. On the contrary I often wear skinny pants on the bottom. I take my time to consult with the shop assistant until I decide for a suitable size.

2) You feel inspired with this fashion item: Shori: I want a light blouse overlapped with a sweater with hood. Sou: Pink outerwear. Marius: I want to try wearing men’s skirts! Kento: Pastel coloured knitwear. Fuma: A delicate accessory. I want to wear it this spring.

3) Something you keep on buying unconsciously: Shori: I tend to immediately go for monotone clothes. Sou: Fake glasses. Marius: Scarves and hats. I think I don’t have enough so I buy it without knowing I already have many… Kento: Shirts. I like clothes with a collar. Fuma: When it comes to colours, I tend to go for black items.

4) You think this person is fashionable: Shori: From an artistic point of view, it’s the clothes David Bowie used to wear. Sou: Massu (Masuda Takahisa) and Kamiyama (Tomohiro)-kun. Marius: Someone who can bring out their own colour with their clothes. (Matsumoto) Jun-kun’s clothes are artistic! Sou-chan also wears clothes that suit him. Kento: Someone I was co-starring with in a movie, Komatsu Nana-chan. For example she was wearing an orange top, she wears really fashionable colours. Fuma: Nagase Tomoya-kun. Of course he also wears plain clothes but the clothes he wears on tv programmes are really cool.

5) Recent women’s fashion that you think is really nice: Shori: Loose clothes and something that has a mature feel to it. Sou: Knee-high socks to a baggy shirt dress, a boyish style in general. Marius: Clothes with a fluffy material♡ Kento: Loose pastel coloured knitwear. Fuma: I think a boyish style with a hat is nice.

6) How often you buy clothes: Shori: 1-2 times per month. When I have a lot of time I will buy 4-5 pieces at once. Sou: 1-2 times per month. Marius: 2-3 times per month. Kento: Once in six months. Fuma: Depending on my time, 2-3 times per season.

7) Number of hats you own: Shori: About 10. Recently I like my hairstyle so I don’t wear hats that often. Sou: 10. Marius: About 35. Kento: About 30. Recently I’m addicted to hats that look like they belong to a ship’s captain so I just bought two. Fuma: 10. I have hats, caps, berets… I try to have a lot of variety.

8) Number of shoes you own: Shori: About 6 pairs. In winter I like slip-ons and sandals in summer. Sou: 15 pairs. When I go out with seniors I wear pretty boots, I try not to wear sneakers for once. Recently Nikaido-kun and Tegoshi-kun took me to a meal. With Tegoshi-kun I wore boots but with Nikaido-kun it was sneakers… It’s because Nikaido-kun doesn’t pay attention to his juniors! Marius: If I also count training shoes… 23 pairs. Kento: About 30 pairs. I like sneakers. Fuma: 20-30 pairs.

9) Number of bags you own: Shori: 4. Sou: 7 or 8. All backpacks. Marius: 25. Kento: 15. Fuma: More than 20. Recently the number has increased.

10) What do you do with clothes you don’t use anymore? Shori: I give them to my older brothers or throw them away. Sou: I give them to a relative or my older sister. Marius: I give them to my family or donate. I never throw things away since I want to cherish them! Kento: If it’s been over 10 years I will throw them away. Fuma: If I think I don’t need them anymore, I will discard or give them to my younger brother.

Questions about food 11) What is a „power food“ for you?

Shori: Homemade fried chicken! Because in the past my mum often put it into my lunch boxes. Actually anything fried is good! Sou: Beef tongue! Meat will give me a lot of energy after all. It’s my favourite part♡ Marius: Soup! In particular, I would eat homemade chicken soup when I catch a cold. German instant soups also have delicious noodles ♪ Kento: Omurice! 12) Favourite fruit: Shori: A high class melon. Sou: Grapes. Marius: Pomegranate. It’s good for your skin as well. Kento: Bananas, shine muscat. Fuma: Strawberries. If they have enough sweetness I don’t need to put them in condensed milk.

17) Do you prefer bread for breakfast? Or rice? Shori: Rice. Since I don’t feel fully awake if I haven’t eaten rice. It’s white rice after all! Sou: It’s always rice! Together with natto it’s the best. Marius: Bread! Actually I want to eat rice but bread is faster. Kento: Rice. I want to eat it with bacon, sausages, tomatoes and a salad. Fuma: Rice.

18) Delicious food you remember eating in the past: Shori: A long time ago I went to an onsen near Mt. Fuji with my family and the tempura zaru soba we ate there was super delicious. Sou: Miso soup with eggplant that my dad made. It’s so easy to eat since he cuts the pieces very finely. Marius: White asparagus. It’s food that reminds me of Germany. Kento: During my middle school days while I was going to my activities as a junior, my mother always made me spam onigiri. Fuma: When I had sports day at school, I would have fried eggs in my lunch box.

19) Something you would want to eat as your last supper: Shori: My mum’s cooking. I can’t decide for which one though. Sou: Umeboshi. Marius: My mum’s Japanese fried food. Sushi, pork cutlet, tendon, eel and miso soup! Kento: I hope it won’t be my last meal yet but… I want food made by the person I love♡ Fuma: My mother’s boiled fish.

Questions about living 21) How do you spend your off days recently? Shori: I like to spend my time relaxing at home. Recently I’m watching many old dramas. So I also study them in the meantime♪ Sou: Watching movies and dramas on video distribution websites. I also ask Marius for recommendations! Marius: Basically I spend my time relaxing at home with my family but I also like going out somewhere with my friends. Going shopping, watching movies or spending time in nature! Kento: Visiting a museum. When I’m free from work I like to visit an interesting art exhibition. It inspires me and I feel refreshed. Recently I visited a „Leandro Erlich exhibition“, it was interesting! Fuma: I would use the morning for my hobbies and go window shopping in the afternoon. In the evening I usually spend my time together with my family.

22) Your room’s interior: Shori: I don’t really care much about it except for my guitars being there. Sou: I like a modern monotone feeling and I have a flower scented room spray. Marius: I like modern, with brown and white colours. Kento: I like monotone. Talking about fragrance, I like the entrance smelling like red wine, the bathroom like cherry blossoms and the bedroom like white wine. Fuma: I like wooden furniture and indian-like patterns, like the taste of West Coast. My favourite is an aroma lamp. I enjoy various fragrances.

23) How often you clean: Shori: Every day but I only put some things away. Sou: Every day. Marius: Once a month. My mum does it… (laughing) Kento: Every day. I have a robot vacuum cleaner as well. Fuma: Every day.

24) What would you do if your girlfriend comes visit you at home…? Shori: I will tidy up a little. I would like her to cook. Sou: I will prepare some drinks. Marius: Tidy up and show her my games so we can play! Kento: Prepare cooking ingredients. Fuma: Prepare my aroma lamp and keep it on.

25) Where do you sleep? Shori: A single bed made from natural wood. It also has a drawer underneath. Sou: Recently I changed my old bed to a new really comfortable double bed. The cover is beige and on the bedside I have a painting the members gave me for my 20th birthday (a painting of five champagne bottles) as decoration. Marius: On a single bed and the mattress is quite thick. On the wall around my bed I have a chain of lights with decorative illumination and a pin board where I pin famous quotes and photos I keep as memories. Kento: I have a black and grey semi-double bed. The linen is black as well. Fuma: My bed is a huge double bed and I use a soft flat pillow. Around the bed I put candle-like, dim lights.

26) What you wear to sleep: Shori: A t-shirt on top, sweat pants on the bottom. Sou: A fluffy pyjama. Marius: A jersey made of soft material that isn’t itchy. Kento: Sexy Zone’s tour parka and black sweat pants. Fuma: I sleep naked.

27) What kind of toothbrush & toothpaste you use: Shori: I have a black toothbrush and use mint flavoured toothpaste. I put water on my toothbrush first before I put toothpaste on. Sou: I use a green toothpaste with an extremely thin toothbrush. Marius: I only apply a little bit of toothpaste on my electric toothbrush. I stop when my mouth is full of bubbles (laughing). Kento: The handle of my toothbrush is grey and the brush is soft. I haven’t decided on a toothpaste and always try various kinds. Fuma: My brush is soft with a blue handle. I brush my teeth about 5-10 minutes while watching tv.

28) Do you rather take a shower? Or bath? Shori: After taking a bath for less than 10 minutes, I wash my body. Sou: Take a shower. By the way, Shori always wants to take a bath. When he’s staying over at my house, he always says „Draw a bath for me~“ (laughing). Marius: I don’t mind either. Kento: I take a bath. I put rose-scented bath powder inside the bathtub. Fuma: I rather take a bath. I put the bath powder from our tour goods inside of the bathtub.

29) Your average bathing time: Shori: The average time I spend in my bathroom is 15 minutes. I just put body shampoo on my hands and wash my body. Sou: 30 minutes. Marius: 15 minutes. 20 minutes at most. Kento: About 40 minutes. I listen to music with a waterproof speaker. Fuma: Less than one hour.

30) How often you cut your hair: Shori: Once a month. Sou: Twice a month. Because my hair grows fast♡ Marius: Once in two months. Sometimes when it grows fast, once a month. Kento: Twice a month. Fuma: It changes depending on the season but I go to a hairdresser for maintenance once a month. When I demand a hairstyle from my hairdresser, I’m embarrassed to show a picture so I don’t do it.

Sexy Zone - Angel or Devil!?

“Innocent days” is the new song that is featured on the drama “Miss Devil” starring Sato Shori.

Kento: Finally “InoDei” will be released!! Fuma: InoDei (laughing). I’d love people to appreciate InoDei with its PV. The PV is really good. Marius: It also shows the relationship of us five, it’s like a short drama. Fuma: It’s like… our good old innocent days. Young boys who leave the countryside to debut in Tokyo… Shori: In “Innocent days” the five of us create music together and so our story begins. Kento: Each one of us was able to act a half-fake story. Fuma: The scenery was beautiful as well.

“Innocent days” has a gentle melody and words with a deep meaning where the five members of Sexy Zone were able to act out their story.

Kento: Although it’s a fictional story, it’s similar to the five of us. Sou: When I first heard the five of us are going to be in a short movie like that, I was like MGK! Kento: Ma…Ji…Ka! (laughing) (t/n: that’s what Sou meant with MGK, majika means “really?!/seriously?”) Marius: At first it was challenging to act with the five of us but I was happy that I was actually able to experience that with everyone. Sou: Right! I have always wanted to act together. Since I’m the least experienced one when it comes to acting, I also studied a lot. Even though I was also embarrassed. Shori: It’s a PV but we also prepared our lines properly. Sou: For Shori it was difficult as well since there was a guitar scene. Because his role was to compose “Innocent days” on his guitar. Shori: Yeah, there was no guitar coach on the scene while filming (laughing). But I was optimistic and did it myself. Marius: While shooting, I was singing along to Shori’s guitar. We had a session together, it was fun. Shori: We also enjoyed the making of. Kento: It was a wonderful shooting. Sexy Zone turned into adults with their music as well…it was a feeling like that. Fuma: This time even with the coupling tracks you could feel these five people have grown up. Kento: All the coupling tracks are also really great songs. Fuma: That’s so true. I like “Twilight Sunset” the most. Kento: I feel like the emphasis on Marius’ voice is gradually getting stronger. Marius: Really? I’m glad~! Kento: Marius voice really came out!! In “Unstoppable” I really want to dance to it with all my might.

Sexy Zone who turned into adults even in their coupling tracks had a great lineup. Their presence in “Innocent days” shows their graceful and intimate friendship.

Kento: That’s right. We grew accustomed to each other. Marius: I think people who listen to it will feel each one of our different feelings in the lyrics. Shori: I think up until now this will become a song in which we want to remember many things! Kento: Right. I think I want to remember the pain of the past as well and cherish it.

Shori x Kento x Sou “Miss Devil” talk:

Shori: Regarding my role, since Tsubaki Mako-san is punishing bad people, I don’t like fighting in reality but (in the drama) we work together, so I wonder if I feel empathy like Saito Hiroshi does. Kento: Rather than that, I wonder if I can make him do those things. Now I can curse but I don’t know if I can have someone eat out of the palm of my hand. Shori: That’s amazing. I didn’t have such an idea. Sou: Since it’s not good to spoil he tries to be strong but when I succeed in a big job, he doesn’t have a devil’s face, he praises me with the face of an angel…! Shori: It’s good to look at things properly. Sou: Kenty is often like that. He gives me proper advices. If I do some extra moves during our choreography, he gives me a funny nickname like “Okaka” (laughing). (t/n: finely chopped bonito flakes) Kento: Right. Matsushima is already delicious with white rice only but he still adds some “okaka”. Since he includes weird arrangements in the choreography I tell him “Don’t put more okaka in here”. Shori: That’s a nice way of putting it. Sou: Right! When it comes to onigiri I like umeboshi in them but I got to like “okaka” as well. Shori: Sometimes strict instructions are important as well. Kento: Because my mother is totally like the devil, I’m used to scary women. Even now she often gets angry with me. When I tell a joke that isn’t funny she says “Huh? You’re plain boring”. Shori: Eeh, that’s scary (laughing). Kento: When it’s something funny I can really make her smile but other than during that time she is really too scary. But I think that it was thanks to my mother that now I grew into the person I am.

Fuma x Marius “Miss Devil” talk:

Fuma: Shori’s doM side in “Miss Devil” is quite nice…Marius said that even though he’s not watching it!? Marius: Right now, I’m resisting to watch any television that’s why. By the time it is released I will watch it all at once. Fuma: Mako-san is beautiful but she gives me the chills (laughing). Marius: Would you seriously obey her? Fuma: Maybe, but I have a rebellious spirit so (laughing). Marius: For me, I want to respect and follow her along. Fuma: I feel like Marius would say something like “Why are you doing such mean things!” (laughing). Marius: I will properly tell her my opinion. Fuma: With a close friend you can say things like “let’s solve that” but it’s better to reveal your real intentions. Marius: Probably. I think Fuma-kun would be the most successful employee in such a company. Because I feel like he knows the world. Fuma: No~ that’s more like Shori, right? Marius: Shori would be good at that too. Sexy Zone - Fantasy on Green

Q1. If you were to acquire a supernatural power, which one would it be?

Shori: The ability to freeze the things I aim at. That way I’d be able to make ice cream quickly, right? (laughing) It’s also quite mysterious. Kento: The ability to make the women I meet fall in love with me within two seconds (laughing). Fuma: Since always I have wanted to be able to teleport. But recently I came to like traveling to places. If I teleport there’s no sceneries I can see along the way. Actually what’s inconvenient for us humans is quite interesting, that’s what I think recently. Sou: The ability to remember everything I see. Marius: The ability to cure diseases.

Q2. If you are reborn, in which country, which era and which social position would that be?

Shori: As an aristocrat in mediaeval Europe, it seems interesting. In a different way from now I’d like to spend an elegant and luxurious life. Kento: I’d like to play an active role in the 1980’s and since I have great respect for America’s president Ronald Wilson Reagan, I want to be reborn in America during that time and be his supporter. Of course it’d be fine if I’m reborn as myself again too. Fuma: I’m perfectly fine the way I am now. Even if I’m reborn I still want to be an idol in Japan. Sou: I want to be reborn in Australia and become an idol! Marius: I like it best right now. Because if we go back in history, I think the present is the most peaceful.

Q3. You became a film producer. What kind of film would you make?

Shori: I want to make an exciting film about a hero with a dream that isn’t only aiming at children but that adults can watch as well. Kento: A film titled “Two seconds”. The protagonist is able to see into the future for two seconds but even if he can predict a major accident in front of his eyes, he cannot save anyone in these two seconds. I want to show their vain suffering. In the end they desperately live in the moment so that they can create a happy future. Fuma: I want to show mundane everyday life. Realising that they live a nonchalant casual life style, things like that. Sou: A film about a family. However, rather than showing a warm and comfortable family, I want to show something serious with a dark side like the family falling apart. Marius: I like documentary films. I often watch documentaries produced by CNN and BBC, so I want to make something about global warming to make the people watching become more friendly towards our planet.

Q4. If you were to become a girl for a day, what would you do?

Shori: I want to do something to change our male-dominated world but I guess that won’t change in just one day… (diverges from his opinion). I want to be reborn on Wednesday so I can watch movies all day long. (t/n: for ladies in Japan many cinemas offer a discount every Wednesday) Kento: I want to go to town and fall in love with a lovely man. I don’t want it to rain. Fuma: I want to go to the sea and wear a swimsuit, I’d like to experience having guys stare at me. Sou: With the body of a girl I’d like to try dancing hip hop in a way only girls can! Also I want to do pole dancing! Marius: In one day I want to put on make-up and have a girls-only gathering while doing something only girls can do, then upload it on SNS!

Q5. What if the Gods were able to grant you only one wish, what would you wish for?

Shori: Like in “Doraemon” I want a Gourmet Table Cloth. It magically makes food appear on top of the cloth when it’s placed on a surface, so I’d be happy if I can use it at different locations and still eat things that are good for my body. Kento: I want to be the only one to experience it but I want 48 hours in a day. Since 24 hours isn’t enough. Having double the amount of speed to be able to do many things within a day, I’d wish to have more time right now. Fuma: I hardly ever pray to Gods… Well, I’d wish for my family’s health. Sou: I wish to have sound health. I want to live long (laughing). Marius: It’s not something for myself but I’d like to wish something for the people in the world. For example everyone to be able to understand all the words in the world. If others understand other countries’ languages they’d also be able to understand their trouble and suffering, I think there wouldn’t be that many fights anymore.

Q6. If you could replace one part of your body, which would it be?

Shori: Nose. Because I have nasal inflammation I’d like a nose without it. Kento: Abdominal muscles. Although my body fat percentage is about 8,3%, I can’t seem to gain abs at all (bitter laugh). Gaining it is difficult so I want better muscles. Fuma: To get my body bigger I need to gain weight but in my case when I gain weight it only shows on my face. I hate it. That’s why I want genes that don’t make me gain weight on my face (laughing). Sou: I want to become muscular. I want pectoral muscles like Fuma-kun (laughing). Marius: Compared to the size of my face my ears look small, that’s why I want bigger ears.

Q7. Imagine you become a squadron hero. What kind of weapon will you use to fight?

Shori: I don’t want to hold any weapons. Painful things like fighting, I don’t want to do them. If I really have to, I guess a katana? But if there’s fire… No even better, I want a magic wand that can do anything (laughing). Kento: I want to use the ability to bring dinosaurs back from the past, so dinosaurs can fight against other weapons (laughing). Fuma: Pistols. Sou: I want to manipulate people with spiritual power. Marius: Because I don’t want to hurt people physically, I want a weapon that can control people’s emotions. I want to sprinkle sparkling magic powder over an angry person so they become happy again (laughing).

Q8. If you fall in love with a Disney princess, which one would it be?

Shori: It should be the princess deciding which prince to be happy with. But if it’s someone who appears to be single and lonely, wouldn’t it only be Elsa? Kento: Cinderella! I would like to rescue her from unfortunate circumstances. Fuma: I’m not really familiar with Disney. I only know a few like Cinderella and Snow White but… ah, it would be Aladdin’s Jasmine. Sou: Arielle! Because my song is called “Mermaid”. Marius: She’s not really popular in Japan but I like Pocahontas. In most Disney movies there’s a message behind the story, it’s cool that she’s a strong girl.

Q9. If you could choose your own body odor, which scent would you like?

Shori: Soap scent. Kento: Something like mint I guess. Because I’m the type who becomes hot very quickly, I want a scent that cools me down. Fuma: Citrus fruits. It’s fresh and slightly sweet, that would be good. Sou: I like sweet scents. But vanilla is a little persistent… I guess it would be honey. Marius: Butter…just kidding (laughing). I remember the smell of the forest in Heidelberg from when I was little. It was a pleasantly cool smell. It’s kind of cold but there is warmth in it as well.

Q10. If you are reborn as an instrument, which one would it be?

Shori: Acoustic guitar. So if I’m reborn I want Eric Clapton to play me (laughing). Kento: I guess a guitar. You can always carry me by your side then (laughing). A big instrument like a piano, I think it would feel really lonely during the times no one is playing it. Fuma: Acoustic guitar. Since I’d be something cool. Sou: Harp (immediate reply)! I like the songs Cecile Corbel-san plays on it in “Arrietty”, I’m addicted to them. It also feels impressive and elegant, I like that it can produce delicate sounds. Marius: Cello or drums. With the cello I like how it can produce low and high sounds. With the drums, I feel like it resonates with humans. If I become a big drum, with loud thuds and astonishing sounds I want to unite everyone (laughing).

⭐️Sexy Zone Christmas special 2018⭐️

A party event only with the five members

Sou: Wouldn’t it be funny to play games at our party? Having a present contest where everyone tries to compete for a rank. I think maybe it would be too stiff if the five of us just talk, so playing games we would be able to laugh foolishly and have a relaxed time. Sometimes when it gets too serious someone would say “You’re being too sly!” and we would start fighting (laughing). I want it to feel like a party for men. I’m sure Mari-chan would prepare the food and decorations and things like that~ I also want us to decorate together! Because playing games would be the main thing, it’d be good to go to someone’s place who has a room with a big tv screen. I wonder if Kenty’s house looks like that!

Kento: Although I feel like Christmas has a very winter-ish feel to it I really want to spend it in Hawaii! We shot our first photo album there so in 2012 the five of us went to Hawaii together. It’s a really important place for us so I want to do it there. Setting up a table and a BBQ grill by the seaside, I also want to prepare a whole roast turkey. Matsushima will grill the meat. He looks like he’s good at cooking. As we try to flip the meat over, it feels like he would strictly say “Don’t flip it over yet!” and get angry. While grilling the meat, I want Matsushima’s dominant side to come out (laughing). Because I’m in charge of creating memories, I’ll take pictures. I’ll attach a selfie-stick to my smartphone and wear it on my back, a SLR camera around my neck and another camera on my head. I won’t miss out any opportunity to take pictures (laughing)!

Shori: I think chicken is a must on Christmas. That’s why I would prepare it for everyone to eat! Because I like delicious things I’m confident I would find the best dishes♪ Marius would be the one to say „I’ll make it myself“. But since I don’t want to fail on the main dish I apologise but I’m going to buy it (laughing). As for other preparations I’d like to have fun sharing the responsibility with everyone else. Marius would cook everything else besides the chicken. Fuma-kun would prepare the drinks. Kenty would prepare the music. Matsushima doesn’t have to prepare anything, he will do the cleaning afterwards. By the way, we should rent an elegant Western-style house that looks like it’s from tv to celebrate, right…? That’s why I’ll leave that job to Marius (laughing).

Marius: I want to do a trendy glamping party! Besides the members we can bring other guests along as well, chat together and have fun while sitting around the fire with everyone. It could be family, close friends, anyone is okay. Since I see the four members as my family, I’m excited to see what kind of people they are friends with~♪ During the campfire, Shori-kun could play guitar, there’s no doubt the mood would be so cool! Since there would be many people, it seems like exchanging presents would feel exciting. I want everyone to draw a present, like in a lottery. For me… I want to do a travel set. I want to buy tickets to a resort in the southern provinces for a long-term stay. The person who draws that would be very lucky!

Fuma: Shouldn’t we have a party at Marius’ house in Germany? On this occasion fi we go to Germany with the members, it would be fun to experience an unique Christmas. I have never heard of it before until now but I guess it’s different from Japan after all? Since Marius would be the host, he should organise everything with everyone. Alright…Shori would sing while playing the guitar. Matsushia is good at drawing so he should be in charge of decorating the room. Since Nakajima likes sweets he should be in charge of sweets. It could be handmade ones. Ah, but it feels like he wouldn’t be good at that…he should rather buy them. I would be scared. So, excuse me, but I would specialise in eating! Let me prepare the meat since I want it♪

What I want for Christmas

Sou: I still remember the first time I got a Christmas present. I made a big sock and waited but because I couldn’t sleep that night, Santa-san didn’t come to me. I was thinking „Santa-san won’t come to me…“ and felt down but the next morning I received the present I wanted! I was happy~ What I want the most right now is a room lamp! The truth is the one I used got broken, so I am looking for a new one but I couldn’t find a good one after all… (sad). It’s been over a month since it got broken, so I’ve been living with light bulbs only so far. There is a little while until Christmas but I’ll do my best and wait! I like trendy lamps with a bit of an antique style~ I have to prepare a huge sock now!

Marius: If I could plead for anything, I’d wish for a „door that leads anywhere“! Since I think Santa-san is smart, he’d be able to make it in an instant. If I could go anywhere, it would be no problem going to places that I can’t usually go to easily. For example…Kyoto! Well, I can go by bullet train (laughing). But normally it takes a few hours to go somewhere like that, so if I only want to go for a dinner I would be free to go whenever. There is a three-star Michelin restaurant I’ve wanted to try before in Kyoto and besides that there are plenty of places where you can try really good Japanese food, so I want to go to many places. While I’m at it I could stop by in Germany and tell my friends over there „I’ll go to Kyoto now!“ and invite them to go with me!

Kento: What I want the most right now…it’s the you who are reading this♡ Eh, I have to properly choose a thing? Well then, I’d like abed massager. Before that I tried it in an electronics store and it felt really good! When worn on the head, a scent comes out first and after that it slowly starts getting warmer and starts massaging you. It really is the best! Besides that, I’d like a toy samurai robot with a sword that I can control via remote control. I can play with it alone but if it’s the two of us we can make them fight against each other. Being able to control the sword with the remote control and swinging the sword from side to side, I think that movement is cool. However, if there is no opponent… I wonder if I take it to the shooting of „Dorokei“ if Nakamura Tomoya-kun is going to play with me.

Fuma: Well, I guess it’s water. Recently I really drink a lot. I want to stock up on it so I would be happy to receive to get a one-year supply. Since I drink two litres in a day, I’d need 365x2=730 litres. It’s almost a ton (laughing). It would kind of be a problem to store everything in one place at once so it would be okay to get it delivered several times! The last thing I remember getting for Christmas was a mini stereo system! I got it in sixth grade of elementary school. I asked Santa-san for it and when I got up in the morning it was there in my room. I was really happy~ I also listened to a demo of our debut song on it and listened to radio while studying for exams. It’s already 12 years ago but it still works. My younger brother uses it now!

Shori: When I was a child, I was happy that I received presents from Santa-san in my sock every year. My number one wish for now is world peace. There are many cruel things going on everywhere in the world right now, so I wish they could be well resolved somehow… In terms of materialistic things, what I personally want is a new computer! I have a laptop but it’s already quite old. I’d like to buy a desktop computer for music production~ that’s what I thought. Because I use my current laptop for private things, I would like to properly use the new one for work and creating music. That’s why I want it to work well with music programmes and be equipped with high speed

A funny Christmas story

Shori: While we were doing a stage play, Kenty decorated our dressing room with Christmas lights. So during our break I was sleeping with sunglasses on since it was so bright. Then Kenty kept on saying “Shori sleeps with sunglasses” on various tv shows and when I saw that at home, I yelled “Hey!” (laughing).

Kento: While performing for “Johnnys’ World” I decorated my dressing room with Christmas lights to make it more lively. But when I took a closer look at the wall I saw there were drawing pin holes in the wall. When I asked the staff members about it, they said Matsumoto Hakuo-san did them in the past. I felt happy that we had the same thoughts.

Sou: Because I long for a Christmas like in the movies “Home Alone” for example, I’m going to have a Western style party! I want to decorate a real fir, place presents underneath it and make turkey for dinner. Anyways, if we’re in a cute room and everyone who participates is satisfied, I will become the person who will entertain everyone!

Fuma: At a Christmas party, everyone except Shimekake Ryuya was an instigator, so when Takada Sho tried taking a bath, we threw a pie at him and surprisingly he flipped out. So we sent a frightened Shimekake to a livid Takada-kun who was wearing a bath towel around his waist to return my bag back (laughing).

Marius: Near our cottage in Switzerland there is a school. When I was still little and we went by the school, my older brother told me scary stories. Then, when his story came to its climax, in the moment when my brother wanted to frighten me the school’s electricity suddenly shut off. My brother was more scared than I was (laughing).
