Sato Shori met a rare animal breed, the fennec fox, for this interview.
Shori: I saw a fennec for the first time! It’s so precious. If not for this opportunity, I probably would have never been able to touch it. I am often told that I resemble a fennec. In fact, now that we met face-to-face, I think we look similar too. They’re animals that don’t trust people very easily, in that sense we’re especially similar (laughing). It’s like we’re watching everyone from a safe corner (laughing).
The fennec has a timid personality and seems to hate “loud sounds”.
Shori: That’s right. I hate loud noise as well (laughing). Rather than having a similar face, I think its disposition is similar to mine, I thought that was cute. Since it’s an animal that’s highly wary, in general it won’t come close to people’s faces that it is meeting for the first time, the person in charge told me that. “This guy looks like me, so I guess I’ll do a good job then”, maybe it thought that when seeing me, so it actually got close to my face (laughing).
Certainly! It was vigilant but it didn’t see Shori as a threat.
Shori: Right~. That guy was really cute.
What disposition did Chai grow up with?
Shori: Since she’s still small I don’t know how she’ll turn out to be but as of now, she’s haughty and boastful at home but meek and reserved when we’re outside. She’s a dachshund, that kind of breed. She’s very energetic when with us at home but when we’re outside she seems all grown up. Although she’s like that she really loves people, that one time when Marius came to play with her, Chai was all excited and making a lot of noise.
Animal Talk
Q. Which animals do the members resemble?
Kento→Peacock Doesn’t it make sense? A peacock as well as Kenty are both enchanting creatures. Moreover, for both it appears like you would shout “He’s here!” upon seeing them.
Fuma→Owl They have cleverness in common, I wonder if he has the grace of an owl as well. Just when you thought some parts of him are getting puffy, suddenly they’re getting thinner. When Fuma-kun works out, afterwards he likes to tense up his muscles (laughing).
Marius→Giraffe Because Marius has a big and long neck, doesn’t he? Actually it’s an animal that is quite violent, right? Marius is as well (laughing). Although he has a harmonious personality, the moment he needs to protect himself he’ll show his strength (laughing).
Sou→Frog He has the image of a ninja. That’s why I thought of a quietly lurking frog. He also has an amphibious head and various faces during variety shows, you can really see there that he resembles one.
