He wasn’t human. Although he stood on two legs, although he smelled of sweat and smoke, although he wore ordinary human clothes, he was not human. No human can have a face like that. // Blood of Elves. //

Her heart lightened to hear such curiosity. So many Christians had been dismissive of the true gods, it was wonderful to see some were still curious. Gisela smiled, and pointed to the seat closest to where she leaned over the hearth, scraping chopped vegetables into the stew she worked on. “Where do you want to start? You must know Odin and Thor, of course.”
Alejandro wasn’t sure if that visit would be welcomed, but he was glad to know that it was and that Gisela even invited him in. He quickly thanked her and moved swiftly to sit where she pointed, his eyes fixed on her hands until she spoke, moving his gaze to meet hers. “There is so much I seem to need to learn, I don’t even know where to start. But yes, I do know of them. I’ve seen... Mjolnir...? Hanging from the necks of some people.”
“Alright, I admit it. You need a medal for dealing with that. And... All the other things you listed, but still, that job is better than many. I wouldn’t mind to have it and be close and personal with some of ‘em. If you catch my drift.”

“Cirilla. Fiona. Elen. Riannon.” The smile of the sorcerer spread slowly once he recognised the obvious features of the woman in front of him. “The Lion Cub of Cintra.” A grin appeared on his lips at the words rolled off of them. He shivered and made a sound, as to demonstrate his excitement. “It is... Such. A great honour to meet you.” The sorcerer bowed profusely. “I had the fortune of meeting your father... I’m talking about... A certain witcher, rather than a certain Emperor. We do not like to talk about the latter, do we not?”

“It is almost as if there are no enchanters where you come from, my fair damsel. Or if they are, they do not charge enough for their services. I am afraid that what you look for cannot be done for what you are offering me. No, I know. Do not look at me like that, it is unfair, I know this very well. It is not something that I enjoy doing, charging people more than they can pay. It is unfair, but I must pay taxes, you see? Taxes on spells. I must fill an application weeks in advance and pay the tax. Ah, yes. It is not at all charming. And I must apologise, my sweet, sweet damsel, that I cannot perform such a feat for you, for it would be my greatest pleasure to... Well... Pleasure you... Oh, forgive me, was I rambling? Yes, yes. I tend to do that. No one stops me, or maybe they try but I just do not listen. Yes, I know. You needn't say a word. I will think about your offer, though. But if I am to do it for what you offer me, my lady, then I am afraid I will need more information on the person that you seek. Either a description, a name, anything that you can provide for this humble servant of yours.”

“I can’t believe you are not cold. This place is god damn freezing. I mean... I’ve seen snow where I come from, but holy shit. This is too much.” The voice came muffled as he was talking behind a scarf, rubbing his hands together eagerly to try and warm them up. “Couldn’t you move somewhere warmer? Maybe visit me in Cordoba.”

❝ cats just ain’t as friendly as dogs, man, least they don’t try to claw your goddamn eyes out when y'scratch their neck. but trust me, i ain’t the type to calm people down, specially old folks, i dunno what the fuck to say and would probably make jokes she wouldn’t appreciate, i ain’t goin’ near her, for everyones sake. but i mean, that idea 'bout just leavin’ a cat and scrammin’ ain’t so bad, but i’m tellin’ you right now, you’re pickin’ up the new damn cat, i ain’t touchin’ the fuzzy demon. ❞
“Hmm. It’s all relative. Very relative-” Alejandro cut off his own sentence to take a swig of his already empty tall glass, looking mildly shocked and horrified at the sight of just ice and foam at the bottom of it. “The hell...” He murmured and snorted. “It evaporated.” He said before standing up to walk up to the counter and make himself another drink. Half Fernet Branca, half Coke. “What was I saying… Oh yes, some dogs are mean little shits too, and some cats are angels… This one, was the personification of Satan. Or Satan himself in a disguise...” He blinked when he realised he’d been babbling and his drink was ready, taking a sip and humming at the taste. “Anyway… I’ll pick the cat. We should leave a little something for her too, don’t you think? Maybe some flowers? A bottle of wine? Whiskey?”

A common habit among sorcerers, but nonetheless irritating except for one exclusion. Geralt doesn’t voice his displeasure with the invasion of privacy, knowing Alejandro will hear it – the cursing demand to get out of his head along with the comparison of the Wizard to a rotfiend. “Why can’t you just take the hint?”
“As charming as usual, my dear witcher.” The mage chuckled and tilted his head to smile at Geralt when he heard the lovely thoughts running through his mind. “You never fail to amaze me, you know that, right, Geralt? No, don’t say anything, I know that I have yet to be in your good graces, maybe with some luck I will!” He leaned back. “But until then, you did not answer me yet, witcher. Dinner?”
nxtawitch:
“I have heard some say that the blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.” Dark eyes glanced over from where the woman stared out at the river, searching endlessly for a face she knew would not yet return. “Perhaps that might be your case, if the Christians are as wise as they say.”
“I wish to believe my family or my-... The King cares. But, I am inclined to think otherwise. I have heard the ransom was not a high price to pay, yet they didn’t pay for it. I am not the eldest child, which explains why they didn’t bother paying... I’ve started doubting the wisdom of Christians ever since then. Or praise it. I am not sure.”
xfvengerberg:
“I am glad portals exist, else a long journey here would have been wasted. But I will accept your offers, only if my presence does not bother you, Alejandro.”
“Well, if I am to be honest with you, dear Yennefer... Don’t look at me like that, you know it is but a jest on my part. I am always grateful to have you in my humble abode.” His ‘humble’ abode couldn’t be further from that. Despite the appearance of the tower on the outside, the inside was rather large, imitating some of the luxuries of the castle of King Ethain. Together with that, Alejandro had a number scantily clad servants, all male, well built and with beautiful faces, who immediately began serving Yennefer a glass of expensive wine. Of course, everything was an illusion, and to the untrained eye could pass as reality.
“When was the last time we saw each other? Hm? Oh, yes. Thanedd. My condolences about Tissaia. I was pained to find out of her fate. She was quite a unique individual...” His expression grew solemn for a moment, his dull green eyes looking down before looking back up at his colleague. “... I am glad to see you are okay, what is it that you’re doing in Cidaris? Is there anything that I can help you with? Knowing you, you did not come here for a friendly chat and some wine.”
demondetective:
“The whole ‘white/black magic’ thing? I thought most practitioners chucked that out years ago,” Aleera said casually, examining the various knickknacks around them. “So just how nicely to I need to ask? I can throw a please in there if you want. Really lay it on thick.”
“Hm...” The mage grumbled and narrowed his eyes at the woman, that usually worked with people that came poking their noses where they didn’t belong. But it seemed it wouldn’t deter her. He observed her carefully, his eyes never leaving her as she went around his several trinkets. “Some did. Some didn’t.” He explained tilting his head. “And a please would be enough, wouldn’t want you to strain yourself. So… What can I do for you?”
thatmudblood:
“Sweet times? He doesn’t strike me as the type who’d give you sweet. I think he’d show off half of the… ordeal, if you get me”, she lowered her voice, “I am observant of everyone, Ale, don’t be mistaken. He can be the biggest jerk in this school and still attractive, which is his case. But please, be my guest, Ale. Make a move on him. Tell him you both have my blessing”
A loud, boisterous laugh left Alejandro with her words, making him toss his head back and cackle. “I sure hope that’s not the case!” He exclaimed and sighed loudly as he tried to stop laughing. “If I do make a move on him, do you think he’ll reject me? I am not about to try for nothing.”
hvcdrungr:
“Well, excuse you. If anything you should come here more often”, Loki replied with feigned offense. The beer, straight from the tap, was delivered fast before Loki, but he did not drink it, as he listened to Alejandro’s proposal. The drink – which looked like a tall glass of coke – was not an issue as much as Ale’s defiant face was. “…sure”, he answered before taking a sip of Ale’s drink. It was beyond bitter and went down not quite easily. “…tastes great, yeah”, Loki commented before taking a sip of his beer. “…bitter as my ex’s heart”, he joked.
“Are you trying to flirt with me right now?” He murmured feigning shock. Which was promptly replaced with an amused wide grin when Loki drank from his glass. He knew that his favourite drink was an acquired taste, that more often than not, people would turn away from the drink, which made it all the more enjoyable when Loki drank from it. Alejandro laughed out loud at the joke, thinking that he could very well say the same. “You are saying you’re more of a fan of sweet hearts?” He asked as he drank from his glass as if he was drinking water.
