Supreme Court Ends Porn As We Know It In Historic First

The ruling marks a major change to longstanding First Amendment protections for online pornography.

"The 6-3 decision is a major change in First Amendment law as applied to the internet and will likely lead more states to enact similar age verification requirements across the country. Porn sites that do not wish to comply will likely entirely block access in states with age verification laws, as PornHub, the largest online pornography site, did in Texas after the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the law in 2024."

"At issue is the 2023 Texas law HB 1181, which seeks to limit minors’ access to porn sites by requiring everyone to provide age verification — meaning proof of identity — in order to access such sites."

"The law, which had remained in effect during the appeal to the court, will now remain in effect. It places onerous fines, of $10,000 per day and $250,000 if a site is found to have allowed a minor to gain access, on sites that allow minor access by failing to verify users’ age. But the law exempts search engines, social media sites and service providers."

"Eighteen states, including Texas, have laws in effect that require age verification for pornography sites. Another six states have enacted such laws that are not yet in effect."

I doubt whatever sequel they cook up will be up to the original's standard, but if they do one, it should be The Elementalists, because that's the series that was meant to have more sequels that got dropped, and also because Endless Summer had a perfect, final conclusion already, and giving it another installment would cheapen it drastically.

wait ...i never saw a romantic nature to gabe and cas's relationship but i'm mainly a cas romancer so..

i'm a poly router (with a pref for gabe but anyways) in b3, something is different in their tension. like b1 they had a great irritation with each other, b2 we saw their rivalry escalated but begrudgingly find mutual ground in keep mc safe + the scene were cas affirms that gabe is nothing like lennox and the gabe returning the affirmation to cas about seth's death. And now their relationship is very banter-ous and light hearted but the last few vip chapters (not spoiling) shows a level of genuine concern for each other... (depending on how you see gabe's motives bc of the newst vip chapter..)

unironically, Gas is genuinely a decent slow burn enemies to lovers story (if the writers actually go that direction) in choices imo because the point of slow burn is what in psych we call the "mere exposure affect". The age ol' concept of a long term exposure to someone makes you gain a stronger affection to them. the reason i say it's better than previous (or at least newer enemies/begrudging friends to lovers ships, think hotshot, RwB etc) is because of the fact that neither are directly flirtatious or salacious because A) for the most part, they are not playable, B) the nature of their actions don't change based on mc's romantic/coven choice C) they have prerequisite history. Choices is kinda infamous for forcing the enemies to love each but purely w/ sexual intent but with gas there's an underlying concept of genuine interest in what's best for each other (longest it doesn't interfere with their own desires)
