♕ } ;; Regrettably, Sam found that each time his fist collided with touch cheek tissue, and every time his knee was brought harshly into a hard gut—-that he felt better and better and better. He became power-hungry, the demonic side of him taking hold for those short minutes, tearing those disgusting humans down like it was nothing. Hearing bones crack and blood splatter the ground is music to his ears; he just can’t get enough. Knowing that they were intending to do such things to Ryo makes the sadistic experience all the more gratifying.
Even as the three bodies no longer fight back, crumpling into heavy sacks of nothing does Sam cease. He keeps kicking, he keeps punching—-his vision is red. They deserve to die——- But suddenly, Ryo’s voice, her touch and presence brings Samuel back to reality, eyes clearing and body going completely rigid where he stands. Droplets of rain and blood cling to him, the consistent, soft downpour cancelling out all other sounds besides her voice. Slowly, Sam drops the man, arms lowering as he looks over to Ryo, that look of shock gone without a trace. “R—” He stops, eyes dropping, casting over her condition….lips press together into a thin line, the look in his eyes haunted and…restrained. "…Yeah…Yeah, I got’cha…" he says quietly, so unlike how he usually acts around her and everyone else, drenched bangs covering most of his face as Sam bends down, carefully taking Ryo’s small body into his arms. "…..How the hell are you so light, Brooks?" The question is idle, used as a distraction from previous events. "Do you eat at all?" Sam flashes her a small, crooked smile, though it’s different somehow.
☆; When Sam finally looked at her and calmed down, a sense of relief washed over her. He was himself again even though there was sadness in his eyes and something she couldn't quite place etched onto his handsome face. Ryo's heart began to steady itself and her breathing was returning to normal. She just wanted to bury her face into his chest and cry, cry until her eyes were swollen and red. Ryo wanted to apologize and she wanted to thank him.. She wanted him to know that the front she always put up wasn't always how she really felt.
Finally, he spoke and for once she was glad to hear his voice. "--" She had went to speak but was suddenly cut off due to the fact that he had picked her up without so much of a bat of his eyes. How embarrassing. Had it really come to this? The girl wasn't sure what she wanted at this point in time. All she knew was right now she didn't want to be separated from Sam. No, it was the exact opposite.
But, here he was saying stupid things again. "Shut up, Sam." She mumbles while leaning in and wrapping her arms around his neck, burying her face into the crook of his neck. "I do eat." She said as she started crying again. "A-all the time," She knew what he was doing and tried to play along but right now, she just couldn't contain it anymore.
How was it that Sam was always saving her? How was it that he was there when no one else was? It just didn't make any sense especially when she wouldn't give him the time of day nor would she spread her legs for him. She just didn't understand. "Thank you, Sam." Leaning her head back enough so their eyes could meet.
