Adventure // Mikayla & Cade

Cade was cleaning out the Hippogriff pin where they eat, sleep, and play during the day. It took a lot of work since he had to move everything around not to mention deal with Hippogriffs getting in his way. Once he was done he gave them all a dead ferret before leaving the blocked off area. 

As he was washing off his boots he looked up to see Mikayla walking up to him, He hadn’t spent much time with the Gryffindor, but he by no means had anything against the girl. “Hey. What are you up to? I don’t normally see you down here at least when I’m done here.”

Mikayla was off and wandering about the grounds, just thinking about things and trying to sort out her plans for summer. She wasn’t sure how she had gotten to the pins but decided it wouldn’t hurt to look around. She ehard water running and was curious as to who was here as well. As she saw Cade she offered him a friendly smile and a little wave. “Hi. Oh nothing exciting would you believe the excuse I got bored?”

Danika looked around the room at everyone, who seemed OK with that proposition. “Fine. I’ll go first.” She said. She grabbed the bottle and looked around one last time before spinning it. Mikayla leaned back on her hands and watched the bottle spin around. Finding this whole thing amusing for how everyone seemed okay with it. Which was fine by her, Mikayla was more than okay with her odds at this game. That was until Danika’s bottle pointed directly at her and Mikayla raised an eyebrow at it. The blonde smirk and leaned forward crawling towards the center of the circle towards Danika. “I guess it is, though I would think it would be more lucky for you. Bring it on.”

Danika sat in the Gryffindor common room, surrounded mostly by 7th years and a few fellow classmates. Everyone sat in a circle, a very misshapen circle at that, with a clear glass bottle in the middle. “Alright, everyone knows how this game works.” Danika started. “We spin the bottle, whoever it lands on, you make out with, no gender specifications, if you’re a boy and it lands on a boy, you do it. Don’t get pissy.” She ended. “Alright, who wants to go first?”

“More like - all the time,” he chuckled softly. The pressure from her fingers against his head made it feel much better, making him shut his eyes for a moment. “A hamster ball? That’s a new one. Ethan wanted to get me a helmet,” he grinned at her. Suddenly there was a tightness in his ankle and he attempted to move it without her noticing but couldn’t. He listened to her and sighed, “My - ankle..” he said simply.

“All the time? Really Max?” Mikayla had to fight back her smile at that, poor Max. She felt back for her clumsy friend. Gently though she started to stop rubbing his head and leaned back to look over him. “Maybe bubble-wrap you entirely. It’s just an idea though.” Mikayla made a face as she noticed he was in pain and she sighed softly. “Off to the nurse we could. Do you want me to carry you or bring a wheelchair?”

Mikayla offered him a small smile and pulled out her notebook. “All right, for what Chance?”

Newt rose his eyebrow. “So I don’t know what deep seeded issues you have or whatever, but I’m a little worried that my indifference to you has apparently given you some kind of aneurysm or something. Shit, Mikayla. Get over yourself. If you’re going to be a bitch to me then I’m going to be an ass back to you. You don’t get differential treatment or whatever you think you’re supposed to have that has you so fucking offended. You want me to laugh at you ‘joking’ with me and then get offended if I say anything back to you then go right ahead. But frankly talking to you is something I don’t enjoy, so I think I’ll move on.”

Mikayla groaned and ran her hands through her hair exasperated. “You are so..” She sighed. “Frustrating.” She finally said shaking her head at him. Standing up from her seat she walked over and crossed her arms firmly across her chest. “I’m sorry if I came off bitchy towards you.” She apologized bleakly, not liking at all the way this conversation had taken a turn for it. She didn’t even see a reason for her to apologize in the long run but she decided to do it. “It wasn’t my intention.” She added. “Just calm down.” She said with a shrug. “You can’t just act this way towards people and not expect them to be more cross with you than usual. Besides you’re the one who singled me out and made me leave the other day.”
