Recently at work, Asanuma-san asked me "Did you get taller or something?" so I thought about why, and I think I get it.

It's probably because Eguchi-san wasn't next to me.

Sometimes I look at photos of Toyonaga Toshiyuki next to Egu and marvel at the height difference (162cm vs. 187cm) before I realize that's about how much Egu would be taller than me, too...

Confused about why he calls himself her reincarnation? Why he mentions how her hand got more wrinkles?
Well, I sure was! I thought and talked with others about the lyrics for days while and even after translating... and here’s two main theories we came up with:
Theory 1: it’s a song of gratitude addressed to a past lover who is his soulmate
The lyrics mention how the woman’s hand used to be bigger than his and how he wants to grow up into an adult quickly, so the lover is presumably older and he met her when he was younger/not yet an adult.
They’ve likely already parted since he mentions how it’s been years since he touched her hand. He presently seems appreciative of her love for him and maybe sorry for his past actions, since he says how he used to think she was occassionally annoying but realized how much she had loved him regardless of whether they were together or separated.
As for why he says that he is her “reincarnation,” perhaps he is using that as a kind of alternative to “soulmate.”
Something questionable with this theory is the fact that the lyrics mention how her hand gets more wrinkly by the time he has grown up, which gives the impression that she is significantly older than him...
Theory 2: it’s a song of gratitude addressed to his mother
The song’s lyrics has lots of parts where it mentions various feelings and actions that are common for children to experience as they grow up into adults and eventually leave their parents:
-holding their parents’ hands when they are young but coming to stop doing so once they reach teenage/adult years
-thinking of them as occasionally annoying
-thinking that they'd never change
Many people find it awkward, frustrating, or hard to accept that their parents have changed (especially aging), so perhaps this sentiment is also being expressed in the song.
(On the other hand, many people also probably think of their lover as occassionally annoying or expect them to not change, so the previous theory isn’t necessarily invalidated.)
Additionally, he gives her red flowers, which are presumably carnations because of the song’s title and the fact that carnations were shown multiple times in the PV video. In Japan, red carnations are often gifted to mothers on Mother’s Day and thus have come to symbolize love/appreciation for one’s mother. Japan also celebrates both Mother’s Day and Children’s Day in the month of May...
(Side note: although never mentioned in the lyrics, the PV video also included blue carnations, which mean “everlasting happiness.”)
However, it’s unusual that he would address his mother with “kimi” and call her “ojou-sama.” Perhaps it’s affectionate flattery (sort of like “mom, you’re not too old to be called ‘young lady’”).
TLDR: he expresses recently realized gratitude for a certain woman who continuously loves and supports him, but the woman’s relationship to him and her age relative to him is not clear.

The PV for Aoi’s upcoming CD got released about 6 hours ago!
So it turns out, he was posing after all...! I guess it would have been unusual of Jiku-sensei to just draw a character standing straight without a pose for a CD jacket. But in any case, Aoi looks dashingly princely as ever...
The song also seems super great and I’m so excited (and surprised that they released the PV this early, it’s not even May yet)! I will be translating the song’s lyrics, too, so please look forward to it and support Aoi lots! (≧∇≦)
Arata: This is the prince who is the pride of Gravi. Lately his princeliness has been really increasing, right? (ahem) Well, he was a prince since a long time ago, though.

And speaking of the CD jacket, I am totally in love with it...! I especially love how while everyone else in Six Gravity made some kind of pose, all Aoi had to do was stand with his head held high and smile like the angelic prince he is...♥︎

I “moved” blogs (changed this blog to look like the original side blog) because I posted on the side blog (now deleted) more often.
Another reason why I moved was because of the confusion that results when I try to reply to a reply or reaction on my posts.
Tumblr processes what should be a reply from my side blog as a reply from my primary blog, which causes confusion since the user I'm replying to probably doesn't know about the primary blog, so it seems like an unrelated blog is replying.
In any case, everything was reposted on this one, though, so hopefully it’s alright! Thank gosh it was only four posts...

A few minutes before 3 am in Japan, Egu tweeted about his internal struggle of deciding whether or not to eat ramen that ultimately ended in a very Egu decision:
