O Immaculate Virgin Mary, Mother of God, and our most compassionate Mother, we humbly present ourselves before thee and with all confidence we seek thy maternal patronage. Thou hast been proclaimed by Holy Church the consoler of the afflicted, and to thee continually have recourse the harassed in their afflictions, the sick in their maladies, the dying in their agony, the poor in their want, the necessitous from whatever cause in times of public or private calamity; and all receive from thee consolation and comfort. Most sweet Mother, turn again thy most tender regard upon us miserable sinners, and mercifully receive our humble and confident prayers. Succor us in all our spiritual and temporal necessities, free us from all evil, and especially from sin, the greatest evil of all, and from all danger of falling into it; obtain for us from thy Son Jesus every blessing, especially the greatest of all, divine grace. Console our spirit straitened and afflicted, in the midst of the many dangers which threaten it, while so many miseries and misfortunes beset us on every side. We beg of thee by that intense joy which filled thy most pure soul when thy divine Son rose from the dead, obtain peace Holy Church, consolation for its visible head, the Roman Pontiff, peace among Christian princes, refreshment in their pains for the souls in Purgatory, for sinners the pardon of their sins, for the just, perseverance in good. Receive all, most tender Mother, under thy merciful and powerful protection, that we may be able to live virtuously, to die piously, and attain eternal happiness in Heaven. Amen.
