Felix's optimistic nature and general naivete lead most people to underestimate him at first impression, but he's got a really strong technical mind and wide knowledge base. He's a bit humble about it, though.

Even if Owen's parents weren't doting and a bit helicopter-y, he was usually too busy being a good boy and trying to be as close to a perfect son as possible to make up for how "flawed" he is.

Ludwig isn't a gossip by any means, but he is not above saying what someone wants to hear to get what he wants from them. He'd prefer to bend the truth or lie by omission than outright lie, though, cause that covers his ass better.

Arachne has a hard-earned skill of being able to take what she dishes out, so most things bounce off her. If you manage to hit too many of her pain points, though, she'll drop the smug aura and petty insults and instead drive in on any insecurities she's been able to glean from her opponent. Angering her past that, you're probably going to get slapped, scratched, or kicked in the crotch.

If he had a large blunt object to swing around he could do some damage, but hand-to-hand she'd probably lose. She'd try, though.

Poppy used to be an early-to-bed-early-to-rise kinda person, but now between not having tennis practice at 6am and having more of a proclivity for late-night partying, her sleep schedule has shifted to be later and more volatile.

Ludwig is very patient for things that need time, but less patient for outside forces that are making things take longer than they necessarily need to. Woe betide any poor sap that hinders his experiments, intentionally or not.

there was something relaxing about taxidermy. probably the same type of feeling crafters felt, maybe even carpenters. ophelia was intricately pinning a tiny jacket onto a fully posed punk rock duckling when owen asked the question. "oh yeah, that's lorenzo. he's an acorn professor at chipmunk university." she nodded. "you can name this one, it has to be something punk. she's a rockstar."

Owen, like most, had been a bit queasy about taxidermy at first, but seeing all of the work Ophelia put into it and the passion she had made him appreciate the artistry of it. "How about, l-like..." Owen paused in thought, focused on the duckling's head, where Ophelia had threaded in some red synthetic hair to give it a tiny mohawk. "...Ruby... Riot?"

zach did all the instructions he was asked looking left and then right and then back forward. "not really stressed no, pretty much chillin like all the time." he chuckled and leaned back on the palm of his hands. "sweeeet, what's this experiment for anyway? i forgot, or you didn't tell me, i don't know which one it was."

"Zhis is a blind study, so participants are not made aware of zhe exact criteria lest it unintentionally skew zhe results. You remember zhe consent form you signed, yes?" Ludwig was already sure of the answer he would receive; outside of Zach's general personality, the kind of people to actually read through the forms were also the kind of people to note some of the sketchier and more ambiguous wording and decline to participate.

Val rolled their eyes. "You say that as if we've ever expected you to be nice as a bartender," she replied, slowly dropping her gaze to the ground where the cigarette had tumbled down. Glancing back up, they levelled Arachne with a blank and unimpressed expression. Closing the cigarette pack, they shoved it in their pocket and reached out to grab her coffee with a grin, helping themselves to a long slurp before grimacing and immediately handing it back. "Good god, what the fuck is that? Diabetes in a cup?"

"It's a goblin frappe with two shots of bofa syrup." Arachne took her own large gulp, finishing the drink and letting the empty cup fall to the ground, where it rolled to rest next to the fallen cigarette. "You didn't have to do the indirect kiss thing with the straw, by the way. If you wanna make out you can just say so." She licked her lips and winked, shoving her bonus cigarettes into her pocket while retrieving a lighter and sparking up, leaning against the wall.
