Giving my takes on the visual characterization of Hatsune Miku art since 1947

Hiya! B here, with yet another gimmick(?) blog, the Miku Profiler!

The Problem: I frequently see Hatsune Miku art with far too few notes. This would be enough of a problem in itself, but I've also, as of late, been allowing myself to only reblog this type of Miku with generic stock praise, such as "Woah cool" or "Awesome Miku, I love her :3"

The Solution: Whenever I reblog a Miku, I force myself to do it here! Now, people get notes on their Miku, from a dedicated Miku Blog, AND those notes also profile the Miku with elaborate explanations of what I specifically think the visual characterization of that specific Miku is! And everybody wins!

This Miku likes long distance running, she's very excitable and often yelling, so far she has won 4 silver medals and 6 bronze. She works in a supermarket, and is well known for making everyones day better with a bright smile and welcoming demeanor. Despite being often excited and smiling, she has the capacity to be incredibly upset, and will pout unhappily when not given cheesecake. I absolutely love this Miku, she's full of unrestrained joy and whimsy, not afraid to be silly. Especially the long Miku near the bottom and Snail Miku. The line work lends a relaxed and casual atmosphere to the art, reminiscent of summer evenings lying on the kitchen floor. The artist seems to have been experimenting, perhaps laughing at the more comical Miku's. The art shows a deep love of Hatsune Miku, showing that the artist wishes to portray Miku in all her lighthearted and often nostalgic fun.

This Miku is a fairly skilled witch, and she works as a birthday performer. She is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. She has all sorts of costumes she'll put on for the kids, and she loves interacting with them and having a good time with them. Her most popular outfit is "Hatsune Miku," but this one is her absolute favorite, because it lets her do all sorts of magical party tricks like letting children fly for a little bit or making potions with the kids and writing the recipes in her Miku Miku Magic Book. She can't get away with that kind of magic as any other Miku, since she sneakily markets the tricks as special effects to appease the worrying and non-believing adults alike. But, of course, she and the kids both know the truth. This Miku is magic!

I love this drawing, there are just so many little details that I love. The cat leggings, the musical staff on her shoulder thing, the stars in the hair (which is brilliantly styled and textured, by the way), the microphone in her bag, the tiny cat in her hand, it's all very fun and really good! The style is wonderful, the personality is excellent, the eyes and the face and the hands and the leek and just everything is wonderful and very very good.

This Miku listens to The Strokes. She thinks their sound is really neat and fun, and they're her favorite band of all time. She has a job as a knife saleswoman, but she isn't a big fan of the door-to-door manipulative tactics they want her to be using, so after the sales pitch she'll usually only ask once if you want to buy her knives, then recommend some of her favorite songs to you, get your contact information to share the links with you, and then build a long-lasting and meaningful friendship with you that usually, eventually, causes you to buy knives from her in the end.

I really like this one! Her hair is so big and fluffy and outfit looks incredible, and she's so full of charming personality and joy. I love her lil' pose, and the background is full of awesome details. Great Miku.

This Miku is content with the city life, even if she's not fully in love with it. There's nowhere else she knows she'd rather be, and living here is fine enough for her. She's happy just to go with the flow. She takes college courses online in a shared apartment, and makes money here and there as an urban artist, collaborating with other painters on wall-size murals around the city. She's happy enough with her life, and with her degree she hopes to move up in the world and find a much more consistent job. She'll make it one day.

I like this drawing. A simple one, this Miku, but the scene is very well done. The foreground buildings are a very nice touch in a very nice grey, and Miku herself looks great. I especially love the eyes, and the hair is very nice and incredibly believable.

Just some linework i did and my interpretacion of Flos Miku (song by R sound design). i was originally gonna post digital art, BUT MY GOD. I SAT BEHIND MY TABLET FOR 5 HOURS MAKING SKETCH AFTER SKETCH AND I WASNT HAPOY WITH ANYTHING SO ITS SAFE TAY I MIGHT'VE HIT A BIT OF A DIGITAL ART BLOCK.

This Miku has three gardens, providing most of the food she eats in a day from her fresh self-harvested goods. She only tends one of them regularly (she has good friends and housemates who care for the other two), but she puts all the time and effort she can into her main garden, where she mainly grows peppers and squash. She'll do some work in the other two from time to time, making sure everything is still up to her standards, but for the most part she's fine to let her friends take care of the plants there, because they've proven through hard work to be very trustworthy in this regard. Whatever the three of them don't eat, her friends will take to a farmer's market and sell or trade for fresh fruits.

I love the detailing and realism here. This is a take on Miku I don't think I've ever seen, and she's really good and very well done. The lines look great, her hair is awesome, and I overall love the effect this one gives. An excellent Miku.

This Miku enters sculpture contests. She usually works with modeling clay, but she's been known to dabble in other mediums like paper mache and found object, from time to time. She puts a lot of care into her found object sculptures, and they're probably her favorites to make, but they take the longest for her to work on, so she'll usually only start one when she knows she'll have enough time and focus to make the whole thing, start to finish. She's very competitive, and her drive to win contests with her sculptures is what keeps her engaged in the craft.

Great work here! I like this Miku a whole lot. She's full of personality. Her ruffled hair is very cool, and her classic outfit is done well here. I really like the flopped-over sleeve, it adds a tone of character. Her face is very well done. All the colors are great, and the whole thing is wonderful.

I don't think I'm gonna make it. I think I'm throwing in the towel. This is just a testament to how many amazing incredible Miku there are on this website, but it also feels a little disappointing that I can't defeat the backlog.

Maybe I'll do one or two more. But I'm tired, and these take way longer to do than you'd think.

This Miku is a marathon runner. Most people don't expect this out of her, but her persistence and training are unmatched, and she's only held back by her hair being really big and slowing her down more than she'd like. She isn't going to cut it, because she looks amazing with it this long, but it's still disappointing to her. She owns several hamsters, and takes care of and plays with them most of the time she's not out on a run.

I like this Miku. Her outfit looks very cool and intentional. The skirt being not ruffled is a touch I haven't seen very often at all, and it works really well here. The hair grants a lot of personality, and I really like how it falls here, especially with the lil' hair squares that look very good here. Nice Miku, very nice Miku.
