@thuganomxcsΒ said ; As Kanon did his homework, Puu was upon his desk. The teen seemed to be working too hard so he hops off the table and flutters into the kitchen, coming back a few moments later. "Puu." He utters cheerfully now waddling back into the teen's room holding a refrigerated sport's drink for Kanon.
Kanon was doing better to stay on top of his studies. Yusuke had beat his ass about it before he left this time.
He needed it because this time he was trying to follow in his sister's footsteps and get into a private high school; set the foundations to make something of himself. No more bitterness, no more comparisons. Something about thieves and joy and all'at.
But it was coming at the cost of his precious sleep. His head bobbed in his palm as he started to nod off, pencil tapping aimlessly against his notebook over words that long lost meaning.
The mitochondria is the traphouse of the cell.
"Puu... I'm pooped." The teen lamented, twisting the cap off the sports drink like his limbs were made of lead, body weighing heavy against his desk. Kanon stared at the beast with droopy, half-lidded eyes, twisting his lips as if he were waiting for the 'puu!' of mercy, like, "Yes, bro! Kick back, relax, take a chill pill--a load off, even!"
He wanted so badly to give up for the night, but he also knew this being, this cute, fuzzy little thing, had Yusuke's will behind its Furby-like charm. And that alone, the fact that he he refused to let one of the few people he respected in this world down, was enough to make him groan as he turned the page.
"Aaaawright! We're passing these entrance exams, Puu. Or my name ain't Yukawa Hideki."
And it's not.

The Oshiro grandparents primarily speak Okinawan at home, because their grandmother was raised in an American household after WWII, where she lost sense of her cultural identity, until she reconnected with her birth parents when she was in her early 20s. And further when she was married.
She had to nearly relearn her own language, and with it being a dying language drove her to make sure that her children and her grandchildren spoke Okinawan because she did not want the culture to die within her bloodline.
Her children all speak English, Standard Japanese, Okinawan, and Okinawan Japanese, as well as their children.
