ive been busy with the video work... these two, entropy 1 and entropy 2 are the latest, but more can be found at http://www.youtube.com/notmuchhappens ... please check them out and share/ reblog if you like them... :-)

it's something of a departure from my other work in that ive put words to the films to lead you further into the things i usually leave the images to convey. there could well be more of this... toying with the idea of text in the films too... but this may need some thought, and perhaps some new technology too... stay tuned!

the title says it all... "calm... uncalm... calm". thats what happens. i was inordinately happy to see this.

i try to keep my films at 1 min long, but this one lasts a bit longer... some things just take as long as they take.

scales weigh the wind.

filmed at a small outdoor market in a french village. the stall owners were so proud of their shiny scales, and so pleased that someone else found them as enchanting as they do.

been away for quite a while. life can be harsh sometimes... but back with more videos! hooray!!

i love making these; small visual treasures (though beauty is in the eye of the beholder!). also love making the soundtracks... all lo-fi 2 track recording in iMovie with whatever things i have lying around which make noises... cheap violin which i cant play, acoustic guitars, childs toy megaphone, voices, plinky plonky thing, rattly stuff... often i am actually cackling (quietly!) whilst i do it.

i hope you like the results as much as i like the process...

leipzig airport. flights both up and down, and a final takeoff in a vertical lift. 

i also enjoyed the hard surfaces and the bleak dehumanised sterility. this is the dream of the shiny future; rising and descending in equal measure.

(exactly one minute long, which pleases me more than it should.

farmers shoot crows. this one fell into beauty. its pattern reminded me of a boomerang.  crows feathers have all sorts of colours in them; i fooled around in photoshop to give it a more fitting funeral plumage.

i like crows a lot... substantially more so than i like farmers with guns.

abandoned quarry nearby allows all sorts of opportunities... my favourite are the old conveyor belts; worn, dusty, vulcanised... and in this case stained and patterned with all three. if i could paint, i'd paint things like this... except this 'canvas' was about 20metres long!

tree bark... this is beech. reminds me of strata in rock; like the painted desert; like contour lines on a map...

looks like nobody watches these.. but i dont give a shit!... i like them a lot. so anyway... new one. again only 60 seconds. im enjoying this aesthetic of brevity.
