"Then can I torture myself over the fact that any infection I get could possibly kill me?"
"I can't swim in the ocean. I have to take enzymes before I eat. Still that sucks. It does make me happy."
"I can't do half the things people want to do. Oh that's got to be a bit hard to handle." He looked down sitting his mug back on the table. "Okay. I won't,I'll buy them for me and we can read them together."
"It just makes me feel bad that I'm not normal my life is so different. I did though,is this why you freaked out a bit when I brought up buying books?" He took a sip of his tea and looked back to her. "Because honestly I don't mind doing that. The closest thing I've ever had to a friend was my cousins..and it's not like I'm trying to buy your friendship I just want to do something nice."
"For one almost always having something wrong when we are hanging out. And because I feel like I imposed on your work."
"Thanks Alice." He says picking up the mug to take a sip. "I'm sorry."
"The whole being sick thing sucks." He sighs. "Yes please."
He offered her a small smile. "Okay thanks." He said sitting down at one the tables. "Yeah...it happens sometimes."
Alice had been working on one of the coffee shops near the beach and she was finishing up cleaning everything to close the store when she heard the bell in the door ring, giving the signal someone just entered. She turned around to see who was there.
Riley had been exploring and decided he needed something to soothe his stomach. Picking one of the coffee shops he was surprised when he saw Alice. "I didn't know you worked here. I just needed something to ease my nausea. Do you all have peppermint Tea?"
"Great. And don't be sorry just be careful." He said loud enough she could hear as she left.
"It's okay. I should probably go rest anyway. You know where my room is stop by anytime."
"Okay. Just know I don't mind."
"I mean I could buy you a set too and then you wouldn't have to worry about returning them." He didn't want her to worry about it.
"Yeah. Uh,I could go buy the books and we could each have a set."
"You really should. Maybe we could read them together?"
"That's awesome." He chuckles a bit as they start walking again. "I read the entire series while I was in the hospital. I need to read the Kane Chronicles and stuff."
"Every single book? Even the Percy Jackson series?"
