martin is such an important and personal character to me. i dont even kin him, but he IS personal. like. i get him. and people misunderstand him so easily, they chalk him up to tropes and stereotypes and it kills me. he is a manipulative, angry man. he grew up in an environment where manipulation was his best case of "survival", hes had rage festering within him ALL HIS LIFE because of his quite costant mistreatment. people call him whiney, especially in s4-s5, and i truly dont understand how he can be watered down like that. especially when itsthe other way and hes just watered down to be sweet, nervous, and shy. because oh, does that happen so much more. because he isnt really sweet is he. no, hes actually quite opinionated and can be QUITE difficult. because after years of being a people pleaser hes callous. hes tougher. fuck even in s1 he wasnt THAT much of a push over. he literally got on jons ass about being a skeptic only after a few episodes of meeting him. and people dont acknowledge that aspect of him so much!! hes opinionated!! hes fucking annoying with his opinions!! and more often than not, he probably thinks hes right!! hes an arrogant, rude little shithead!!!!!!! but he covers that up, because he views that part of himself as INHERITLY DISLIKABLE!!!! im rambling and theres no damn point to this post but martin is a character thats misunderstood the most and it drives me insane because he is so, so personal to me. i really, really get him. and it frustrates me!!!!! RAAGGGG MARTIN BLACKWOOD THEY DONT AGKNOWLEDGE YOU FOR THE COMPLEX CHARACTER YOU ARE
