Last Show of Milk Tea House
Hey fellow listeners! As you may know this is the last show of Milk Tea House (For the foreseeable future). Milk Tea House ceased air June 12, 2022 at 11:59pm right before the new quarter of radio hosts start.
I started 2 and a half years ago, around January 2020, during my first year after transferring to UCI right before covid. Before I even had mixed recordings of electronic music. Previously I was on Musik to Play in the Dark with the DJ Crypt Keeper at KCSB and when I came to UCI, I decided “Hey why not do it here”. So I did my training, coming in the studio doing community service and reviewing OPI on CD’s. Choosing my moniker from the Jet Set Radio character “DJ Professor K”, who is the DJ in that game, as well as Milk Tea House from this boba shop I used to drink regularly at in Isla Vista where they had a drink called “House Milk Tea”.
It was loads of fun and I’m glad I stuck with it no matter how busy I got. As an Electrical Engineering major and Japanese language minor, shit got tough, and I was look forward to putting up a mix, or prerecording a DJ set of the second hour when I started incorporating that in my shows Fall 2020. It would always put me at ease, and of course the setting and vibe of the station just has this indescribable feeling that calms me. Coming in late at night, back when my shows were between 2 am to 4 am, or 12 to 2 am. Just sitting here and vibing and having class the very next day. It was honestly a vibe I’ll never forget. Finally getting back to the studio after over a year online, and just being in there made me so happy
Thank you to all my listeners over the past 2 and a half years, even online. You are the ones who make this show a thing. You are the ones who have kept me going doing this show.
Anyhow fuck goodbyes. I’ll still be around makin mixes for you all to vibe to. I’ll be uploading my mixes on soundcloud here under DJ 2003現代쏘나타:
