The Park

Lip had a lot on his mind, the fact that everything over the past few years, well his whole entire life was fucked up really didn’t seem to go away. He thought he got Karen knocked up, thought he could make his life easier by staying at Fiona’s boyfriends/exboyfriend’s? house. Whatever the case was, Lip pretty much had a lot on his mind and the fact that Mandy wanted to hang out, made it a little easier. Putting on his jacket, he placed the hood up over his curly brown hair as he lit up a cigarette before taking off down the sidewalk. It only took him a few good minutes to get to the park, deciding to sit on the swing and wait for her. The moon was just overhead, deciding to peek out through some clouds as it was nearly ten o’clock at night.

Hanging out with Lip lately had been...weird. He was hair-trigger, jumping from being sweet to a total dick and back again. Mandy never knew what was going to set him off, and it was frustrating beyond belief. She was always on edge around him, when she just wanted to enjoy his company.

She really didn't deserve to be treated like shit, but Mandy figured it was probably all the pressure from college. If it was the whole college-thing weighing on him, Mandy could stand the shitty treatment, at least for a little while longer.

Lip was already at the park when Mandy arrived, and he was smoking a cigarette. If it had been a few weeks ago, she would've plucked it out of his hand to take a drag, but she didn't want to upset him so early in the evening, so she pulled out and lit one of her own.
