God has given everyone a purpose in life but most of us are not living their purpose. Instead, they make their own goals and purpose--have PhDs and masterals, travel the world, own a car and house, be famous, etc.--and work hard to achieve those. Don't get me wrong, those are not bad. What I am saying is, a successful, purposeful life is NOT based on that. When those are achieved, surely they'll have new ones to achieve. Those are fleeting successes in life. God has a prevailing purpose in everyone's life; that is to know Him and seek His Kingdom. We all have a part to play in His Kingdom. We are created for Him and not for the world. To know how a machine works and to use it well, we read its manual; same with our lives, read the Bible and ask God--our Creator--the reason why He has created and chosen us, for us to effectively serve Him and use our lives. A life that is not living its purpose is like a ship sailing the oceans without a compass--sailing the oceans for nothing. "Keep your Creator in mind while you are young! In years to come, you will be burdened down with troubles and say, 'I don't enjoy life anymore.' Everything you were taught can be put into a few words: Respect and obey God! This is what life is all about. " --Ecclesiastes 12:1, 13
