The carriage moved slowly on the parade route. There were crowds everywhere, and colorful flags were fluttering on the street. Everyone, including soldiers, gorgeously dressed aristocrats, well-dressed commons, ragged beggars, wanted to see the newly crowned Tsar today. As the carriage passed by, the crowds burst into cheers. Ура! Ура!
Sitting on the carriage, Yao silently watched the cheering crowd. As a distinguished guest invited by the Tsar, he was arranged to ride in the same car with Russia, or, Ivan Braginsky. Ever since they boarded the carriage, Ivan had been introducing him to the coronation ceremony out of passion for a while. The whole country, he said, spent at least 14 months and 110 million rubles to prepare for the Tsar's grand, luxurious and extravagant ceremony; all of which were to demonstrate the grandeur of the Russian Empire.
“Not worse than your Celestial Empire, da?” Ivan winked at him mischievously while saying this. Yao replied to him politely and later resumed his own silence. With an eternal angelic smile, Ivan waved and greeted to his people: “Be happy, my friend and my distinguished guest. Everyone is longing to see the splendours of the Qing empire.”

He recalled Hung-chang Li’s words before the departure. “It is his majesty’s intention to have you, your highness, join my diplomatic visits to 8 countries. Your highness’s appearance is so ill that some modification, I believe, is needed. Thus, you would not lose the dignity of Celestial Empire.”
The special envoy of the Qing Empire stared at him in an intricate manner. After a long pause, Li continued: “Russia seems to be very fond of you, your highness.”
The words ended here. Yao had taken the points. Wasn’t the purpose of the diplomatic visit to Russia precisely for this? He had lost the first Sino-Japanese War, and after that, for him the world had turned upside down. As Britain formed an alliance with Japan, Russia came to send his regard, as well as an invitation. Fond of me......well then, I’m afraid that Manchuria was the sole reason he liked me. Yao sneered in his heart.
Yao looked again at this grand ceremony of the coronation with a heart as cold as the ice of Siberia. He secretly ridiculed inside, that there was no heaven, but a frog locked down in the bottom of the well……in the Forbidden city.

God translation is soooooo hard! I tried yet this is what I could do. I drew this fan art several month before the Battle of the Five Armies came out and put it on my Weibo. I would never have thought about that there was actually a scence where Thranduil sent someone to ask Legolas to come back. The difference is that he also told Legolas that Tauriel was forbidden to come back, and Legolas refused his order. I was sad watching them depart in the end. Not even a hug?! What the hell, I made this fan art before the movie came out. Hope you enjoy it and just ignore the bugs...
