( ✨Witch Hat Atelier Oc✨) ———> I never intended for her to look this much like Richeh XD Maybe I’ll change up her hair at some point.
Gin is my newest Witch Hat Atelier OC. (Sorry if the drawings quality isn't quite as good as the others. My Apple Pencil broke a few days ago and I'm still getting used to drawing with a new, not-so-great stylus until my new one arrives.) I won't go into too much detail about Gin's story just yet, as I'm currently working on a short comic of about 20 panels that tells her backstory. Since it will be a while before I finish it and I don't want to keep you waiting too long, I'll introduce her now. Gin is estimated to be about 11 years old and is quite small for her age. I'll leave everything else up to your imagination for now. Feel free to come up with your own theories about her ^^
hi hellloooo!! I saw ur ocs, can i know which one is your main witch hat atelier oc? I wanna draw them interacting with mine!
OMG!!! OMG!!!! Awwww, that's sooooooo sweet! My real main Oc is Aveline. She's the one i have the longest story line for xD She is a tired mother of two, with Molly and Yuma being her students xD
( ✨Witch hat atelier Oc✨)
Molly is Aveline's second student. She is a year older than Yuma and almost a head taller xD
Character information:
Name: Molly
Age: 13
Occupation: Avelines student
Backstory
Unlike Yuma, Molly grew up in the magical world, but not without obstacles. Her mother died during childbirth, and her aunt, who raised her after that, constantly blamed her for her sister's death. She grew up in a house where she was about as welcome as the plague—hated and shunned. She essentially raised herself, as her aunt showed no interest in her except when it came to making her niece's life a living hell. Thus, she began to strive incredibly hard from a young age, hoping her outstanding achievements would finally bring her attention. But the opposite happened. Her aunt hated her even more, and the other children excluded her because she was a "nerd."
She grew up without support or love until Aveline took her on as a student. The first few weeks were tough. Molly didn't trust Aveline at all. For someone who had never been loved in her entire life, Aveline's behavior was strange and frightening. It took about six months for Molly to finally begin to trust her master. Aveline never forced her to do anything she didn't want to do. She simply let Molly do her own thing and tried to be a kind constant in her life. This eventually worked, and Molly began to trust Aveline. She still has a tendency to overwork herself, but it has improved significantly. It took a little longer for her to warm up to Yuma, but now she sees the girl like the little sister she never had.
Molly is a more outspoken person than Yuma, but considerably more academically minded. She loves Aveline's cooking and her flower garden. Her greatest wish is to become an explorer. She loves adventures of all kinds and owns a glider similar to the one Coco used. She can fly in other ways, but prefers the glider. Despite her young age, she has already become fixated on wind spells and is working hard to improve them, with varying degrees of success. (She once accidentally managed to blow Qifrey off the roof with one of her spells.)

This is Yuma's outfit after she started studying under Aveline. I struggled a bit with the uniform, but I think it turned out quite well. Yuma cut her hair after her sister died (that definitely has nothing to do with me hating drawing braids xD). She's 12 years old in this picture.
✨Witch hat atelier Ocs✨ ( But I can’t draw toddlers xD)
————————> Character information
Name: Yuma
Age: 8 ( in this picture/ she’s 12 during the main story)
Pronouns: She/her
Occupation: Avelines apprentice ( later )
Name: Anni
Age: 3 ( in this picture )
Pronouns: She/her
—————————> Backstory
Yuma was Aveline's first student and, among other things, the reason why Aveline isn’t particularly fond of the Brimmed Caps (She had never met any of them before and could only rely on her master's stories. What she was told was terrible, but she could never confirm it and was therefore always quite cautious with her judgment, until she found Yuma.)
Yuma was an ordinary child and never part of the magical world. She lived with her half-sister Anni in her grandmother's cottage, as their parents had died young in an accident. Her childhood was sheltered and filled with playing in the fields. She spent half her time exploring the woods and fields with her sister. She loved reading above all else and had an absolute love for all kinds of animals. Her life was wonderful, if it weren't for the group of boys who teased her and her sister every day, and then disaster struck. The boys dared Anni to steal a book from a man. Yuma only found out about this when it was already too late, so the two girls hid the book, along with the quill and ink attached to the outer edge of the leather-bound volume, under the kitchen rug.
The problem, however, was that this wasn't an ordinary book, it belonged to a Brimmed Cap ( One of the insane kind). He came to her house at night. Yuma's grandmother and Anni fell victim to his magic. Yuma, however, who fled to the kitchen, had seen the burglar using magic and copied a spell from the book she pulled out from under the carpet. She didn’t even know what she did, she just copied the symbol the best she could. It wasn't enough to kill her enemy, but it saved her life. Her quick wit aroused the interest of the Brimmed Cap, and so he took her with him to train her. Luckily for Yuma, Aveline found her by accident. She rescued the girl and obtained permission to train the severely traumatized girl. Yuma's nights are now filled with nightmares. She blames herself for the deaths of her grandmother and sister, and her time with the Brims is also taking its toll. She has trouble sleeping and eating, but slowly, very slowly, under Aveline's care, she begins to heal.
Nuraiha was Aveline's professor. She was Aveline's greatest role model, and Aveline adopted many of her traits as she grew older, inheriting her kindness and calm demeanor. Besides Aveline, Nuraiha had two other students: Mireyo and Fenja. After all her students passed their exams, Nuraiha devoted herself to research and raising her son, Liomi.
I've been working a bit on Aveline's story lately xD During the main story, she's already 24 and has three apprentices under her care. She's a calm and friendly person who puts a lot of work into raising her students. She's a loving person who would do anything to protect the students in her care. To her, these young witches are like her own children. She's simply the definition of a mama bear. She loves all kinds of tea, fruit, and the summer, as she has her own flower garden and loves gardening.
I tried my best to copie the style of the witch hat atelier manga. Lets just say: I tried xD This is my witch hat atelier Oc Aveline
( Witch Hat Atelier Oc ^^ More about her at the end of the post ^^ )
In my opinion, Witch Hat Atelier has one of the best magic systems ever. I started reading the manga for the first time about a year ago and instantly fell in love. I'd even go so far as to say that, in terms of story and art style, Witch Hat Atelier is the best manga I've ever read. That's why I was a little apprehensive about the anime, but the first two episodes completely captivated me. The animation is incredibly smooth, and the art style is so similar to the manga that it feels like you've simply stepped into the book. It's such a wonderful feeling to finally see Witch Hat Atelier animated after such a long wait, and that this masterpiece is finally getting the attention it deserves.
To celebrate, I finally got around to drawing my Witch Hat Atelier OC. I haven't worked much on her story yet (Maybe you guys have some ideas and are more creative than me. If so, don't be shy and ask me, I'd be super happy about it). The only thing I've written for her so far is that she's a fairly young orphan and a student. (So if you have any ideas for her, ask me <3)

Ruby red
TW: death, blood
The summernight that fell over the world was warm and soft. Gentle, just like a mother cradeling her child, the soft breez brought sleep to all those, who welcomed it with open arms. The quiet wind hushed over fields and foerests, whispering the song of the night. Rivers ran silently and the birds lost their will to sing. It was so peacful that probably no one would ever think that in this night something outrageous and unprecedented would happen. A story that most only saw from one side and never dared to understand the other one. A story filled with so many emotions and rage that'll always has only one outcome. A stolen future and a bloody carpet, shimmering in crimson red.
The clock hit 3 in the morning as Charlotte Afton stood in one of the hallways in the McAllister estate. The corridors seeming endlessly, the only thing breaking the stillness was the ticking of the old grandfather clock and something wet dripping to the ground. Dip, drip, drip. Charlottes fingers trembeled slightly, but her grip on the shiny knife was still steady as her ruby red eyes followed the clocks pendulum. She didnt dare to look down, knowing what view would greet her if she did. The rage that burned in her soul just minutes ago was gone, leaving something empty and lifeless behind. The sounds were stil there and what ever it was, was still runnig down her hands and dribbeling to the floor. Drip, drip, drip.
Her hands tightened around the knifes handle, something wet and sticky reaching her fingers. It was still dripping. Charlotte swallowed weakly. Her rips and stomach were still burning on the spots a foot kicked her a few hours ago. I must have damaged something if it still burn hurt like that, but the adrenaline that was now fully leaving her body just left her numb to the pain. She still didnt dare to lock down.
The warm wind enter the room through the window like a late guest, filling the hallway up with the wonderful scent of summer, but despite this Charlotte was freezing. The sticky substance on her hands that was so warm once, had turned cold. Like a frozen burden she carried on with her. Only then she finally dared to look down. It was everything that she feared. The bitter cold fear climbing up her back. The once emerald green carpet had turned crimson red, seeping through the wool like a prove of what happend here. Empty and lifeless eyes met Charlottes blue ones. Mr. McAllister, already far gone, looked still scary even in death. The eyes opened wide, the mouth ripped open like he wanted to scream at her again. Charlotte clung to her knife, blood still rinsing from it to the ground. Drip, drip, drip. It was her fault. She did it. The blood gliding through her fingers, a reminder of what she had done. The hands of an 15 year old girl. Hands that had killed. Her hands.
Hours had passed like a painful blurr, after the realisation of what she did hit her. She didn't dare to move, still stood in that corridor and held the knife. Something looking so innocent and yet so deadly. Cold blood ran to the ground, as its metallic smell corrupted her loungs. It made her sick, but her body wouldn’t cooperate . It was like her legs were glued to the floor.
The wound in her side burned like fire. True hellfire. It was probably punishment for her deed, because before the massacre, it was Mr. McAllister who had attacked her with the very knife that would soon kill him. Charlotte's neck hairs stood on end the moment footsteps shattered the otherwise hushed silence. The sound of polished shoes on wood.
