thoughts
I’ve had to realize that yes the world may be coming to an end one day and yes there may be terrible things that happen to people. Yes there may be tough things that happen to me. And yes God has a plan for carrying me through everything that comes my way. Any battle I face is actually His battle. And He is a victorious God. That means I am victorious no matter what comes my way. Whether it be disease or fear or tragedy God knows how to handle it. My God is a vixtorious God. He cannot be shaken. He never has been and never will be shaken. He is not suprised. He is brave. And the Father and I are one. Isn’t that crazy! You know what that means? I am brave too.Â
God help me to renew my mind. Help me to nto fear the things that other people experience in their lifetime. Lord you have written my story. You know what goes on in my mind and you see the overcoming spirit inside me that you’ve given me. You’ve given me power. I use your power to step forward everyday and I walk forward in joy being lead forth by your peace. Your peace that surpasses all understanding. God your gifts are peace and joy and love abounding. God you never let go. Of this I am confident: even if I am afraid of something doesn’t mean that I can’t do it. You’ve given me everything I need for life and righteousness and that includes a sound mind.Â
Thank you Jesus.Â
You always win.

imperfect love
Ever read one of those posts that leaves you feeling inadequate? 10 Qualities every guy should look for in a girl… things like that? Things like this is what you should be if you want to attract the right guy…. well I just wanna say that’s BS.
Be YOU. The right guy shouldn’t have a checklist. The right guy should find out what you’re all about and see if your lives can fit together in a complimenting way.
Holy crap am I sick of trying to fit into a certain standard of woman or of human. I just wanna be me and I wanna be loved for me . Nobody else wants me to be anyone other than me. Do we really want to be a bunch of clones of each other?
If being in a relationship has taught me anything lately its that being your honest self is the best way to make things work. If I am working super hard to try and be the girl that I think my boyfriend deserves then I am gonna stress myself out. And I am probably gonna stress him out too. Then he will feel like he has to put in all this effort. He doesn’t.
Relationships are special… I think of mine and I think of all the things I DO like about him… not the things I don’t. And I don’t expect to ever find someone that only has qualities that I like. I am imperfect and so is he.
When I get married I am going to be marrying a work in progress, and he will be marrying one as well, and we will both continue to be a work in progress until the day the Lord brings us home.
I’m sick of people thinking they have to find someone perfect. There are no perfect people. Period. Your future husband has flaws and fears and things that he needs to work on… and its your job to help him be better.
VERY early in my relationship I watched about 5 minutes of Oprah, (not an Oprah fan… it was just on at my parents house) and there was this man talking about how great men aren’t just found that way. They are trained. And I’m not saying crack the whip. But I am saying that you cannot expect your soul mate to just know everything and just get it right away. There are times I have to stand in front of the door until Eric opens it for me. There are times I have to ask him to kiss me. There are times that I make the move and he doesn’t and thats OKAYYYYYY.
I just want to love him and be loved in return and I’m not trying to be perfect or expecting him to be. I’m okay with loving a work in progress and he is too. We’re in this together with God as a guide and I am trusting that He has great plans for us.Â
The only perfect love that you will ever experience is the love of God.
Desert times
Valentines day was an US day. I feel like I haven't had one of those in a long time. I've been searching my butt of on how to make this relationship work because in reality it hasn't been smooth sailing since we lived in the same city. It got harder. I didn't expect that.Â
But I suppose what it comes down to is that we finally got the  opportunity to make each other an actual part of each others lives. We were no longer just an idea. We were right there. Face to face. Lives intermingled. My church. Your church. Our church. Our city. The way you cook. The way I cook. Things you believe. Things I believe. Ways I show love. Ways you show love.Â
I wish things could be easier. I wish that I could have been stronger. I wish we both could have. But reality is that we live in a world with sin and that we are bound to mess things up once in a while, and bound to disappoint each other. I just didn't think it would be so often.
Fighting is a part of relationships. I wish it wasn't. I wish it was all love and fairytales and joy and smiles. Its actually hard work. I mean maybe it wouldn't be so hard if I didn't decided to fall in love with a man who is completely opposite to me in a huge number of ways. But that should just make us special. should it not? I look at him and I am like wow. I don't think the way he thinks and that a beautiful thing. AND it is also very frustrating.Â
Two people from two different families have two totally different upbringings and we can't expect to agree on everything together. Thats just life. I think. We have to learn how to be a team and take our two opinions and bring them into something we can both agree on.
I think everyday I realize how much more Jesus needs to be the center of our relationship, or its actually not going to work at all. I am not interested in giving up just because its hard. I believe that the love I have felt for him was real. Is real. I believe its worth fighting for. I believe that communication can change things way more than we think. I believe that God will bless our relationship if we choose to make it about Him. After all, we decided very early in the game that we never would have dated if it wasn't for God.Â
Sometimes I feel like its impossible. I feel like giving up is heartbreaking but also the easy option.. and I don't really think that life is suppose to be easy. I think this is a test. I think that whatever I am going through is bigger than me. I think that EVERYTHING I go through is bigger than me because greater is He who lives in me than he who lives in the world. I think that going through these tough times and surviving them and flourishing on the other side just proves to those who are in the desert times that there IS an end to them. I think far too many people give up in desert times. God teaches us in the desert. He is close and distant at the same time.Â
I spend all this time trying to figure it all out but God has it all figured out. It is a daily act of obedience to trust Him.Â
Trust Him trust Him trust Him.
Enjoying Who God Created You to Be by Joyce Meyer
Start believing today that you are a rare, one-of-a-kind, valuable and precious woman. To help you learn how to be successful at being yourself, I want to give you some easy-to-follow suggestions:
Speak good things about yourself. Declare what God’s Word says about you. For example, say to yourself, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I am made acceptable in the Beloved. God formed me with His own hand, He loves me, and God doesn’t make mistakes.”
Avoid comparing yourself with other women. God must love variety, or all of us wouldn’t look so different. He has created each of us differently right down to our fingertips. We can look to certain people as good examples to follow, but even then, good traits if duplicated will manifest differently through our individual personalities.
Focus on your potential instead of your limitations. Refuse to concentrate on your weaknesses except in an effort to turn them into strengths. Keep your flaws in perspective. People with a high level of confidence have just as many weaknesses as those without confidence, but they focus on their strengths instead of their weaknesses.
Learn to cope with criticism. If you dare to be different, you’ll have to expect some criticism. Going along with the crowd when you know in your heart that God is leading you in a different direction is one of the reasons women don’t succeed at being themselves. You won’t be comfortable in your own skin if you go against your own convictions.
You are a woman who is perfected and complete in Him. When you start to believe that, you will no longer feel that you are lacking anything or that there is anything wrong with you.
Remember this: God will never anoint you to be anyone other than yourself. Let now be your time to go forward and be set free from the torments of comparing yourself with others and trying to be someone you’re not. God is proud of who He made you to be!
