âShe was wonderful,â Forrest said with a small nod, fingers tightening around the bottle of wine. He shook his head as Milly apologised, something he wasnât expecting from the girl, âItâs fine, honestly. It was a long time ago, you know? I just,â the man sighed, placing the wine onto the bedside table. âI donât often talk about her, so I suppose itâs still quite raw.â Forrest was pretty thankful that she didnât press him any further on the matter, although he was certain this would probably come up in future conversation. âFavourite band?â Now this was something worth answering. âFuck, thatâs hard. I have so many, and they always come and go.â The man babbled on, considerably more cheery than in those past few moments. âTom Petty and the Heartbreakers is definitely up there, as are The Smiths and The Replacements. With newer bands though, canât go wrong with either Beach Slang or Moose Blood.â
âI bet she was.â Milly smiled at him. She was kinda jealous of the relationship he had with his mother, that wasnât something Milly had and sheâs always been jealous of people who had a good relationship with their parents. All Milly had was her aunt and she took her own life when Milly was nine. âWell, thatâs understandable.â She nodded her head, shrugging her shoulders. At least he answered her question. Milly noticed his enthusiasm about music and that impressed her. âThe Smiths? Come on, their songs are so depressing. I mean, yeah they are great and everything but the songs? They are so sad.â She pouted playfully. âIâve never heard of Beach Slang or Moose Blood though.â
