I think the fire at Notre Dame in Paris this week had me feeling some kind of way about our own cathedral here in Sacramento. I went to Good Friday Mass yesterday, even though I am not a Catholic. The service and the space were beautiful. Glad I went.

I’ve made a couple of blog posts that folks might be interested in, especially those that were written while on my winter writing retreat in January. I used one of my favorite photos on the front page of my website. Although it was *just* a cell phone picture, it was taken in my very last moment, just before leaving my brother’s house to return to NYC and back home to California. I’m also including a photo I took with my iPad of the lovely “blush” color of sunset on the snow after a long day of rain.

My BabyGirl, my first-born, my princess turns 18 today! I wanted to be the first to wish this beautiful, intelligent, kind, strong-willed, and loveably goofy young woman a very happy birthday.

How proud and totally excited I am to have been the one to take these special photos that she wanted made to mark this milestone. I've been taking her pictures for the last 18 years, so I suppose it's only fitting, isn't it?

While strolling through Capital Park with my son this afternoon, we came upon this quinceañera photoshoot. As we got closer we saw who was standing behind the scene, holding up the train, making sure not to get in the pictures being taken of his beautiful daughter.
