so, a while ago i hit 800 and im honestly still in shock, when i had my band blog it reached 900+ but it took me like two years to get ‘em, i made this one on april 18th last year, as a safe place for my rapidly growing football addiction and instead turned out to be not just my main blog, but my happy place, my safe place, despite all the crustiness and the drama and all the true jungle this website has become, im happy here.

Gianluca Gaudino, how is the life in Switzerland going?
Gaudino: Everything is going well. The life here, the training sessions, the games with the team, although we lost in my debut. So far only positive things.
It's been almost one month since you're here in Switzerland. Have you already settled in the new home?
Gaudino: Yes, that was kinda fast. I've been a few times in the city and my apartment is already furnished.
Around 75.000 people live in the city. The entire St. Gallen would fit in the Allianz Arena. Was that a culture shock or are you enjoying it?
Gaudino: No, it wasn't a culture shock. I must admit that sometimes after training, when I sit alone at home and eat something, I think about my friends in Munich. On the other side I enjoy the conditions here in St. Gallen and when I meet some people it will be no different from Munich.
The cities are not very far from each other.
Gaudino: I already had the opportunity to go back to Munich as I had to pick up a few things.
As we know you are living in the youth academy apartment. Why?
Gaudino: I decided that with the club - and it's perfect. I can walk to the stadium and the training ground. I didn't come to St. Gallen to have a lake house but to play football and that's what makes me happy. I spend most of my time on the pitch.
The club hopes that you can exchange something with the younger players. Have you already had this opportunity?
Gaudino: We often sit together to eat but we watch football more than we talk (laughs).
Do you cook by yourself?
Gaudino: It a possibility but the "housemother" available to us cooks a delicious food. It remembers me of my junior team time at Bayern.
At St. Gallen you're not a junior player anymore but someone who carries some power. After your presentation, a lot of journalists celebrated you as a "coup" (a sudden appropriation of leadership). Was that necessary for your next step?
Gaudino: Definitely! It was important to take another task and to accomplish that people see me in a different way. A small pressure to have good performances is important for my development. If I can really be a "power carrier" it's up to me.
Joe Zinnbauer said that the focus is on making you a "man" in St. Gallen. What did he mean with that?
Gaudino: That I need to improve my physical condition. I must learn how I can lead a team. Even talking. I must show dominance.
You are on a loan for a year and a half. Wasn't it an option to try to make it again at Bayern under Carlo Ancelotti?
Gaudino: The agreement was made by my father and I accepted it. I wanted to go away so I could develop myself. I wasn't really thinking about who would become Bayern's coach in the summer. If then my chances would be bigger, I don't know. I have to bring good performances here and then we'll see. My focus is on St. Gallen and not on Bayern.
Have you ever had the thought that people would forget about you here in the Schweitzer Liga?
Gaudino: No, I haven't.
Do you put your hopes in the "Lahm-Effect" or the "Alaba-Effect", who also needed a time away to make it at FC Bayern?
Gaudino: The situation is different for each player. Of course it wouldn't be bad if that also happened to me but I'm not really worried about that. I'm focused on learning all I can.
But the idea of coming back to FC Bayern is nice, isn't it?
Gaudino: Yes, if they want me...(laughs). I think I wouldn't say "no".
You had a very promising start in Munich, coming from almost nothing and celebrating a professional debut. You made some appearances, including in the Champions League and got a professional contract. When did things went wrong?
Gaudino: That's a question for the coach, I don't know it. But that's football. It was simply difficult because there were a lot of injured players at first and then they were all fit again. The most important players were coming back and the coach thought I wasn't ready enough.
Did you talk to him about the situation?
Gaudino: No, not really.
Pep Guardiola came to FC Bayern - and with him the expectation that he would develop young players as he did in Barcelona. As one of the people affected: did you expect more?
Gaudino: What he achieved in Barcelona was a "wow-effect" for us. Of course there was hope and he did give me the chances of playing with the first team. For that I am endlessly grateful.
During the summer he sent you, Sinan Kurt and Julian Green back to the Amateure squad, which generated critics - also from your father. How did you feel about that?
Gaudino: When you think about the fact the we needed more experience, it was ok. But it was sad that we shouldn't join the first team trainings anymore. It wasn't easy.
Were there reasons for that?
Gaudino: There were a lot of reasons.

Gaudino: No, I wouldn't like to.
What makes it difficult for the junior players to take the next step?
Gaudino: At Bayern they always buy experienced players when the others are injured. You need a certain level of quality and experience to face stronger opponents - especially in the Champions League. And of course people know that young players cannot offer that immediately.
FC Bayern bought Joshua Kimmich for your position. What did you think about that?
Gaudino: I told myself: "I will give power, I am better!". It's a problem for me when a player is bought. This always happened and always will. You have to prove yourself and the competition is always good. But unfortunately I was back in the second team when he arrived.
Do you think that was a coincidence?
Gaudino: I don't know.
Holger Badstuber said he is worried that the talents at FC Bayern seem "too comfortable". Some players don't engage themselves enough and that's way they don't make it to the first team. Do you agree?
Gaudino: There are different people in football. Most give 100% in training but some have a different thought. Maybe he doesn't like that. I don't know what he saw.

Gaudino: I don't wanna look so far in the future. My plans are about the next game, the next training. And I want to learn with every game and every training.
