Answering & Responding To The Call
When troops deployed in remote areas of Afghanistan send requests for supplies, packaging and delivering them in the most timely method is of the utmost priority. So when Fort Campbell’s 101st Sustainment Brigade sent a request for an aerial delivery from the 674th Quartermaster Deployment Squadron at Bagram Air Field, Afghanistan the 674th swung into action. The 101st war fighters were deployed in a remote area and were in need of mine-resistant ambush protected vehicle tires, air delivery was their best bet as land travel would take too long and was nearly impossible to accomplish. This degree of mil-spec packaging delivery was a "never been done before" mission, but the 674th set into motion and completed the delivery operation. Because of the incredible success of the mission and the dedication and team work of these soldiers, this delivery method is now implemented and deployed often. Read the story of how these soldiers accepted this assignment and created this new military specification packaging procedure for remote troops.
