Hello there, I am an illustrator & motion graphics artist based in Munich. This is my blog I started on 2013 in order to shift from Graphic design towards illustration. By now I had my work shown in a museum, in an outdoor installation. I've been traveling in order to life record events, created illustrated brands and sites, lots of portraits and in a few weeks ill have my first book published. I surprised myself. All these tiny post - with long breaks in between - show my progress through the years, what my sketches looked like & what I dabbled with :) and what I am practicing right now in order to use it in my professional work for mimicks.com

Weekend thoughts

Didn’t really have time to read, though, just finished the layout for my first book!

SCHWABINGER ATELIER Some of my favourite Acrylic paintings from my studio I had rented in January. I mostly worked on translating my people sketches into larger formats and tried to figure out my colour palette.

PLAYING with watercolors in Fresco kind of drifting along, looking for shapes and color combos.

WHAT I'LL KEEP IN MIND... most of all will be color schemes. At the PRADA Fundation: Mint, terracotta with Deep Charcoal. As well as fiery reds, with blue, little mint & lilac. Moreover I saw a lot of fabric and texture. Grass, Wood, sparkling beads.

Usually I take so many pictures while travelling or I sketch. This time I was completely consumed by just looking. I am a bit disappointed that I do not have a selection of exceptional images but its fine.

VENICE BIENNALE... in July with two very dear friends. We had a look at Arsenale and the Akademia, stayed at a cozy Airbnb right behind the Guggenheim Museum that had a beautiful view of the big Canal right behind Canale Grande. we took the Vaporetto to the Lido and walked, walked, walked and talked just as much.

VISUAL SORBET… a weekend ago at Tegernsee

MY TO DO LIST… first week of August. I’m not a big fan of lists on paper, I rather have most of the stuff in my head. With kids, though, everything is more complicated than before and I should have beautiful lists. Well, this is the one for the first week in August.

CURRENTLY WORKING ON… a sweatshirt for a client. He had seen a sketch similar to this and wanted a version with his very own portrait. I have been sketching him for a while, creating insta posts and Christmas cards, complimentary cards and foldout posters. The sweatshirt has been printed just two days ago and it looks magnificent. I had been thinking about doing my own style of T-Shirts with my figure drawings on top, so this assignment has been the perfect preparation for my new ideas… I found a very cool printing shop in Munich who has a beautiful selection of sweaters and shirts in all sizes and colors. It is going to be my first project for fall to add a little line of printed shirts to my shop.

CURRENTLY WORKING ON… rabbits! 🐇

This thing… is really something else. Everything feels almost back to normal right now but the winter months & whatever they might bring are looming at the horizon. My daughter asked me recently „Mum, when is corona over?“. I wish. There was a line to draw when all this is finally over. It will be, I believe. Sooner or later. I try to focus on the present moment and I did stop reading the news which helps. It drives my husband nuts as I have no clue about anything going on. Delta virus? Glaciers melting in Canada? Football? No idea. Kids are in school, I can have lunch with a friend or many at a restaurant, I can go to yoga classes, I can travel to places within Europe. I do believe it’s important to be informed, I also do believe it’s important to choose carefully what information I consume in order to function, to be a joyful being, support my kids, enjoy my friends. And somehow keep myself creating. Fear is never a good Consultant. I chose to be ignorant newswise for the time being. Ask me anything, though, about books, movies, swimming, art shows, restaurants, friends, travel, I’m game.

My daughter asked me to portrait her dressed-up toy bunnies. I had so much fun doing it, I’ve made a project out of it. Bunnies a la mode. TBC.
