one day in and yujaen had proved itself a breath of fresh air, cleaner than any couch he’d stayed on the past month, and more comforting than even his childhood home. something about the energy made him feel… more refreshed, than usual which was a hard thing for insu to achieve. he’d received several warm hellos and it was more than enough to satisfy his sense of community though, sitting out on the patio as the sun hung low, he felt he could be doing more. it was like the feeling wasn’t always hanging in his head, not quite the desire to be a social butterfly, but wanting to connect with someone in the most basic way, was always on his mind. thankfully, being somewhere new often made him a spectacle, made people curious, and that’s exactly what he wanted.
he’d nearly given up on enjoy the evening tucking his phone into his pocket and rolling his weight to his heels as he spotted someone joining him. “oh– hello,” he started, voice softer than usual, almost coming off as sheepish. “it’s really nice out tonight, right?” small talk? he needed to start somewhere. after all, remembering all the faces in a single day was slightly overwhelming, even for someone who made an effort to keep everyone in mind. “i think we’re in for a great sunset,” he said, barely over a sigh, leaning back into his seat and looking out over the horizon. “i’m insu, by the way– i probably should’ve introduced myself first, my mind’s a little scattered, sorry.” his laugh was airy, slightly awkward in the way that he genuinely felt bad, but he didn’t miss a beat, “you are?”
after a pretty successful stream, minah had chosen to spend the next few hours driving around the city on her motorbike almost to clear her head, have some time away from work. she ended up picking up some random things on her adventures; a few candles, a fake plant, and a few things for her daughter. now she’d found herself back home, her bike causing her trouble, a part making noise that didn’t sound exactly pleasant. she’d need to take it apart, clean it out and possibly figure out if she needed a repair.
the only reason she’d gone to the patio was because of that reason, she’d pop down some old towels of hers and get to cleaning - something she’ll do every so often. the patio is perfect, just comfortable enough for her to sit, close enough to the building, and easy to clean, she didn’t expect someone to be out there when she arrived. she doesn’t want to seem ignorant, but she’s not sure about how much of a decent conversation she’ll find herself giving when she’s head down in a motorbike engine. truthfully, she’s not really paying attention, as she kneels down by her vehicle, but still finds a way to speak up, “mhm, it’s always nice out this time of year, and there’s a great view from here too.” she nods her head towards the sunset.
minah’s hands are covered in oil, as she cleans her way through the engine, she looks up and sends a soft smile towards insu’s way. “minah.” the introduction isn’t much of one, but she isn’t the type of girl to say more than a name, “i’d uh, shake your hand but i’m a lil’ dirty right now, sorry, my bike calls.” her shoulders shrug before she speaks again, “just moved in?”
