“When you’ve got the luxurious dorms to stay in? Doubt it.”
“Luxurious is a strong word.”
“Err Charles I think that’s what your bed is kinda for though?”
“Too far,” he mumbled. “And I don’t suppose you’d carry me?”
“Oh I am sorry.. I didn’t mean to disturb you” the alien apologized. “But since your up would mind holding this, I was flying a kite and its stuck but it’d be a lot easier to untangle it with two hands after I fly up there”
Groggily, he took hold of what she handed him, sitting up on the bench. With his free hand, he rubbed his eyes before squinting in the direction of the kite. “Fly up there,” he repeated cleverly. “Of course. I’ll help. You go fly, fly away.”
She smiled a bit and playfully rolled her eyes, “I know, but I figured I’d humor it this once.” She lazily looked over at him as he flicked it away, “I was gonna do the dandelion thing next, I might just blow it at you.” She teased.
“I’m afraid there’s a large chance I would sneeze it away.” He plucked one of the weeds from the grass and blew its seeds into the air, sending them scattering in all directions. “I suppose this means it would be a foolish question to ask how you’re doing?”
“‘Don’t worry your pretty little head’? What kind of fisticuffs are you having?”
“I will settle for being an emotional scout, thankyouverymuch.”
“I daren’t answer that question.”
“Oh, pish posh. You’ve brought this on yourself. I’m throwing you a party.”
“Can’t a man peacefully fall asleep on a bench without being disturbed?”
Me, Myself and I II Loki and Charles
Loki followed the man with his eyes, a soft glare crossing his features before he looked up as the other spoke again. “Are you not? I have plenty more tricks up my sleeve if you have the time. You presume all you want.”
“For this, I would clear my schedule.” He waved the man forward, amusement present in his half-smile, as if he was doing no more than entertaining a child. “Let’s see if you can trick me.”

Zee was sitting in the courtyard under a tree floating a flower between her hands and one by one plucking the pedals off it.. Her eyes where sort of zoned out as she whispered, “Loves me, Loves me not…” And trailed off.
“I’m afraid a flower can’t tell you that much.” He took a seat beside her, picking up one of the fallen petals and flicking it away. “Pesky things.”
“Excellent choice,” she chimed, grabbing for the box. “I hope you’re not attached to the Scottie dog.”
“I much prefer the top hat. Is that stereotypical?”
Selina’s smirk grew wider as he pushed back, much like a Cheshire Cat, and she tilted her head as if it would help her examine him- although, he wasn’t the easiest to read. “You’ve suddenly sparked my interest. Maybe you wouldn’t be so awful at speed dating after all.”
“It seems we’re both utterly full of surprises -- although some are easier to read than others.”
“There will be, so long as I can help it, no fisticuffs of any kind. Don’t you worry your pretty head.”
“I was a scout on the inside, Charles. Emotionally. Doesn’t that matter more?”
“I’m almost positive that’s what people say before fisticuffs occur.”
“No. No, it does not. If you want to be a scout, I’m sure we can find some sort of scout officiator around here to give you the title. We can have a big ceremony and everything.”
“My first sensei used to play against me on this board,” she breathed, reaching out to run her fingers across it, “He used to say it tells the story of a battlefield. Two generals inside their fortress.”
She traced a box on the board.
“A river between them, ” she ran her fingers over the gap in between the two grids.
“And a war in the wind,” she paused before looking back at him, a glint in her eyes and a smile on her face, “You have much to learn, Charles, if you want to have any hope of being the victor. But before we begin-”
She picked up two pieces from the board and held them up, “Black or red?”
( setup pieces )
A river between them. And a war in the wind.
What a perfect setting for the game, but he couldn’t help the arrogant smile that was already forming on his lips. In matters of the mind, he viewed himself to be king, and so when she told him he had much to learn, what else could he do but chuckle softly beneath his breath and move a red piece forward?
“I’ll take red.” The rules were simple enough (in an extremely complicated, convoluted way), laid out in her thoughts as open for him to read as any manual.
“Please tell me you just said that out loud.”
“Afraid not,” he returned, directly into her thoughts. “But it seems I’m not the only one.”

“I don’t care what you want, just get out of my room.”
“Is that truly how you greet old friends?”
Me, Myself and I II Loki and Charles
The pair of them looked up at him, sporting a small smile before the real Loki swiped through the clone with his hand to return them to the original setting of him alone. “Would you prefer just one? Or maybe you?” he asked, grinning once more as he transformed into the same figure in front of him. “Well, don’t let me stop you.”
“The likeness is uncanny to the casual observer.” Hands clasped behind his back, he walked around the copies, looking them over as if he was at an auction about to place a bid. “It’s a good thing I am not a casual observer. Might I inquire what else it is you can do, or is that far too presumptuous during our first meeting?”
