"Stop looking for happiness in the same place you lost it."
That didn’t happen, of course. Things never happened the way I imagined them.
“”Do you know what this is like? You have no clue how painful this is,” she made her hands into two fists. I gulped, afraid of what words were going to come out of her mouth. I knew with whatever it was, it’d leave goosebumps on my skin, as it always does. “You’re like a fucking star, the most breathtaking star in the sky.”“Why?” I replied, since I always seemed to misinterpret her metaphors, or not understand them at all. “Because I can see you, but I can’t have you. It’s impossible to have a star. They’re balls of gas. I can’t reach out and pull one down. They’re so far away, yet their beauty shines brightly at us.”She put her hands on my shoulders, causing every muscle in my body to stiffen. “And no matter how much I wish, or beg, or think about having that star, I can’t fucking have it. That’s what it’s like looking at you and not being able to kiss you.” She placed her fragile hand over her pale, pink lips, as if she didn’t expect to let those words come out of her thoughts.“I’m sorry, I should go. I’ll leave you alone now because I assume you’re getting sick of me saying all this poetic crap, in hopes you’ll love me once again. People keep saying I’m a good writer, but I haven’t created the correct word combination to make you come back. I’m so sorry. Goodbye.” As she walked away from me, I looked up at the sky and saw a shooting star.”
