Here’s a video we made with the wonderful Bryan Bruchman in which we change our clothes very quickly and Drew combs his beard. Check out more of Bryan’s stuff! Ok cool, we’re playing in Pittsburgh tonight, see ya there.

A video we made for our song, “Erasure”, which was directed by Pat Breen.
We did our best here to replicate the look of David Bowie and Mick Jagger’s 1985 video for “Dancing In the Streets” by, among other things, dancing in the streets, wearing alternately puffy and be-flowered clothing, and generally acting like we were ultra-charismatic and coked up superstars who could do no wrong, and thus could get away with shooting a video without planning it out at all.
Of course the kicker is that, unlike whoever made that original video, we had to plan this out pretty meticulously. While ultra-charismatic, we are not superstars, and that’s not even Coke in the can Craig’s drinking from. To recreate something so tossed off, we studied every haphazard shot and chance movement. In order to get the feel of something that was dashed off with no thought of creating something artful, we had to actually work pretty hard. As a Natalie Merchant once said, “don’t you think it’s ironic?”
The appeal of “Dancing In the Streets” is mainly that you’re watching two, let’s be generous and say “strange”, dudes running amok for no good reason, and we hope to have captured some of that here. Something seems different though - is it that we look nothing like Bowie and Jagger and can’t quite pull off their effortless performances? Yeah sure. But is it also that the idea of iconifying rock stars already years past their prime to the extent that even a video of them prancing around a dingy London wharf passes as something worth watching seems utterly ridiculous in 2015? Is it that you can’t imagine anyone making this video today and having anyone care at all? Is it that the entire idea of rock stardom is antiquated and lame?
My how things have changed. Have a great rock and roll in 2015 everyone!
We put out a record on Tuesday and so we’re having a party tonight.

Hey there wow, another song from the record we made, “Bad Sports” has completed it’s journey through the dark web into the public record. Go ahead, listen to it. And then, why not go ahead and say you’ll come to our release show next week at Alphaville.
New England Shows With Bunny’s A Swine Happening Imminently.
A new Miniboone song from the new Miniboone record, "Bad Sports" that will be out on April 21st courtesy of Ernest Jenning Records. You can preorder that junk immediately, my friends.
In conjunction with the joy of releasing some new music, we answered some questions posed to us by Carl of Howth, which you can read at Impose.

The Fourth Annual Miniboone Holiday Shindig Is Upon Us
There's nothing more natural than celebrating the onset of winter by crowding into a basement, mildly or non-mildly intoxicating yourself, and enjoying some amplified music while wearing a stupid hat. Here at Miniboone, we honored to provide an opportunity for this sort of celebration for a fourth straight year, on Thursday, December 18th. Our friends over at Cake Shop will be hosting this year, and they have a large supply of "yule", "wassail", and "whiskey booze" so things will certainly go off with nary a hitch.
In addition to the fine, fine music of Wilder Maker and Old Monk, this year's party will include the first, and perhaps only, appearance of the Useless Family Holiday All Star Band, playing only the greatest and most easy to arrange holiday classics. Expect familiar friends and special guests on a variety of instruments and vocal styles, as well as probably too many sleigh bells. Also Doug will make egg nog as usual. A true Christmas miracle, basically.

C'mon y'all let's get it get it get it.
Come with us, over here, yes, this way. Get yourself out of that New York autumn sunlight, and into this cafe-bar. Now walk over there past the counter, turn left, what do you see? Exactly! It's a staircase into a basement. And what's that you hear? Well, you'll have to climb down those stairs to find out, but here's a hint: it's some songs. Spend a pleasant afternoon of time with some musicians and folks in a basement [and Drew will make you a pancake]. *The Scene Is Now* Genius melodies of an imagined '98 http://thesceneisnow.bandcamp.com/ *Miniboone* Three part harmony about failure and lunch http://miniboone.com/ *I'm Turning Into* Unimprovised great-songs from lovely-dudes http://imturninginto.bandcamp.com/ *Jesse Rifkin* Cyclopean lounge trance http://www.jesse-rifkin.com/ Records played throughout by men of *Ball of Flame Shoot Fire* http://ballofflameshootfire.bandcamp.com/ Taking Place At Cake Shop $7 3pm doors 3:30 bands Pancakes by Drew St. Aubin

Anyway, y'all should come by the show and say hi. Clouder will be there.
