While I'm composing this blog entry the rain is falling down and the breeze is getting. We can't see the opposite side of Loch Indaal. Hopefully that the rain will clear today around evening time, in time for the Hogmanay festivities. This is a decent minute to ponder the previous year was so large portions of us do in this season of a year. Other than some strange political choices (Brexit) and startling passings (beyond any reasonable amount to say) it was a fairly decent year for us here on Islay. In the wake of living over two years on Islay, we feel particularly at home here and we appreciate life and the numerous amicable society on this lovely island. It's not heaven, surely not in the winter, but rather now and again it comes truly close.
