I’m not going to reblog anything related to New Zealand and the terrorist attack.

I’m not reblogging because it’s raw in my heart.

New Zealand is my home and these people are my people. It’s stemmed to more than just a mosque in Christchurch, there have been reported threats of bombs in both Auckland’s Britomart centre and Hawkes Bay’s hospital.

I have been affected by this because my mother works as a nurse in that hospital’s ER. And she was at work when the threat came through. Streets cordoned off and hospital beds lining the footpath and road as they set up a triage station in a nearby cafe.

This is not my country. This is not what New Zealand is. We are supposed to be a chilled and laid back people but instead, we’re dealing with the deadliest criminal act in our country’s history.

And I understand that it’s happened in many other countries. And I understand that there have been worse shootings. But New Zealand is so small that more people live in one city than in the entire South Island. The 49 that were killed out of our 4.7 million person population would be more than 3000 in America’s population of 327 million.

So no, I’m not ignorant to it all. I’m not heartless and I’m certainly not condoning what this absolute dick head did. But I will not reblog because it’s hard.
