Why do you think Sams cast mates talk down to him and make fun of him all the time?

Because they love him. You must not be Scottish, Irish, or English, but people from those countries LOVE to take the piss out of each other and bust each other's balls. It's how they show camaraderie. If they like you and consider you a friend, they roast you any chance they get, and they expect it back from you. It's like a badge of honor to keep it going and not hold back. The worse the mocking, the better. It's like a UK and Irish national sport.

Sam's not some fragile doll, Anon. Although he does have the face of an angel, he's Scottish, he's got a bit of the devil inside him, like all Scotsmen do. He can take it. And he loves to banter back and forth. He's no match for Steven Cree or Rik Rankin...because Sam is a people pleaser...and they're not, so they have no problem telling anyone, including fans to f*ck off. But Sam's a big boy, don't worry about him. He's juuuust fine. And is well loved by his friends and cast mates.
