I bought this CD for 97 cents recently. It was one of the albums my mom always listened to when I was younger. Here is a funny story I remember about it: there was a woman at church who told my mom she should buy it, and though my mom grew to love it she didn't really like it at first. Before she came around to it I found that woman at church one night and told her that my mom didn't really like that CD she told her to buy.

My life is really different lately. In a good way.

So I've been busy. My friend asked me if I wanted to go to Austin and within 24 hours I was there, dancing in gay clubs and seeing people I miss very much. Shortly after I jetted off to Lake Brownwood with a group of people, which is a really odd thing for me to do. Whatever. I had a great time. Also during this time period someone said "I really do think we're the coolest people at ACU." ACU being the college I attended, this felt really good.

When I was a little kid I loved this song by Wilson Phillips called Don't Take Me Down. Well, I still love it, but I loved it then too. One of the lines from the song is "one day you'll wear out the lines you always use." I guess I was a pretty fanciful kid because for the longest time I used to the think the "lines" being referred to were the type that Wendy Wilson's man could use to flee from her when she was mad. In my imagination it was though they lived in a tall apartment, across from another tall apartment, with a line connecting them. Perhaps they hung laundry on it, inconvenient as that may seem. These lines, should they have existed and furthermore "worn out" would surely have been the death of her potentially abusive lover. The satisfaction with which she sang that line gave the song a chilling edge. Fuck it, I still think it means that.
