Introduction

Hello, and welcome! There are pages you can examine that tell you more about this blog, but I’ll give a small rundown of a few important points here:

This blog is ran by an adult, but is extremely unlikely to have any adult content, as pertains to the series or not.

The tone of this blog is meant to be polite, lighthearted, yet semi-professional/serious. That’s not to say that crass or informal language cannot sometimes appear, but as I started making posts on this blog, I felt it didn’t really suit the image.

Pro/shippers, com/shippers, dark/shippers, etc., are emphatically unwelcome here. People that are into adult/child ships, incest ships, or grotesquely wide age-gaps, such as is usually within a self-called “pro/shipper’s” purview, please block and leave the premises immediately. (And if anyone thinks that this isn’t what the term means, I promise you, that is exactly what it was originally coined for, and I am sorry.)

Posts are infrequent, and lately are usually limited to reblogs- do not expect consistent activity. I make original posts from time to time, but lately I’ve not had much energy or inspiration for it.

I’ll more than likely update this post every now and again, or otherwise make new posts with better information. (This is technically a remake of the original post, which was made before the newer post format was fully implemented, lol.)

Christ I'm finally done with this thing. It is So Big. I probably should've shrunk it a little... I tried layer merging but doing that was causing me to lose layer effects and I needed those...

Anyways, I'm not entirely happy with it, but I have a hard time wrt the final product vs the initial idea in my head (which in this case was simpler, even; I just didn't want to draw a fence lmao). I guess I need to play around more in order to get from point A to point B. Alas, the Krita file for this thing is a single gigabyte in size, so this is definitely not the one to do that with.

I didn't get it out on time, but happy belated birthday to the Hell Twins, regardless. I'm sorry I can only draw you guys as small horses.

hi it's probably painfully obvious who i am but whatever, i just wanted to tell you i remember seeing you in the reblogs of a post that redesigned the main three where you said spade's design was really weird and at first i disagreed with you but now i'm drawing spade and it makes me wanna throw my phone at the wall i am so sorry for ever doubting you what the fuck is going on with his design

Yeah his design is..... really busy!!! To say the very least, lol. Honestly his design is far and away the most complex out of the three apprentices. He's more busy than Silver Heart, even! It's a lot. I don't think I've ever tried to draw him (as anything other than a pony, I mean), but I dread trying to get that outfit. Also his hairline sucks. It just plain sucks. What the hell is that, boy.

More freehand experiments! Just a little bit of erasing here and there. Still playing with these designs a little; tried smth different for the capes, inspired by Kaitou KID. Not particularly great at designing clothes that don't already exist, lol. Also, Queen came out pretty decently, for someone I've only drawn like, once or twice before now, and think about a lot less than the other two. Thought about doing more characters but honestly I think I'm a little tapped out rn, and decided to show what I had already. You can kind of tell I started to get better towards the end by following along left to right, lol. Might try more of this some time.

Random thought, but how lonely was Joker ever since he became an independent Kaitou? Queen had Roko, and Spade had Dark Eye, but Joker didn't have anybody with him until Hachi decided to tag along.

He was already alone ever since his parents died. Silver Heart thankfully took him in, and through him, he was able to meet more people who he now also considers as important in his life. However, after graduating as a full-fledged Kaitou, he had to leave and live on his own again. It comes with the profession, planning his own heists and stealing the treasures with his own skills, but still. He didn't seem like he contacted the others much based on his interaction with Spade in episode 3. They hadn't seen each in at least quite a while before then. That's not even to mention Silver Heart and the whole situation going on with Queen at the time. Although, Silver Heart may have called in once and while whenever his back started to act up again. The state of the Air Joker also seemed like he didn't have guests over often. He CAN clean when he wants to even if he isn't the best at it, but it didn't really look like he put much effort into it.

On another note, how long had it been since he last had curry? Before Hachi made him some? He probably had some of those microwave ones you can buy at the supermarket though it isn't really the same. Now that I think of it, it also makes me wonder if he's been feeding himself properly while on his own.

Yannow, it's kinda funny that in the anime, apparently, it's unusual for Joker to hold back to back heists within one week; whereas in the manga, the very first chapter we see him in, it ends off with the revelation that he was running multiple heists back to back within a single night; the way he acted about it suggests that in the manga at least, this is actually a normal thing for him.

I still don't know what to do for the 9th slot, because until I figure that out, I can't pare the Eeveelution options down into their most suitable options. I have no idea who should go there; Akai isn't suitable because he's already kind of creature-like, and also he'd be a bit too easy to sort. I feel like we already settled on a Flareon, anyways; tho it's been a minute, so I could be misremembering something or other.

Gonna be level, here; being in this fandom at all most days is very, very difficult. I've been doing the thing everyone says you're supposed to, blocking anyone and everyone that gives me the ick and hanging out with only those whom I feel the least uncomfortable around (or trying to, anyways). The problem is that the English-speaking side of the fandom is so small that any and all discrepancies and gaps are immediately hugely apparent. I may not be able to see certain artists or authors anymore, but I can still feel them around me, because I can see the gaps that are left.

This fandom is small enough that this is a real problem for me. I wish it wasn't the case, and that it could go back to being simple, lighthearted fun for me; but unless there's a massive influx of people who are just slightly less terminally online than I am, and crucially, a lot of these other people seem to be, then I think I'm just going to have to put up with being slightly unhappy with my fixation for a while.

The way my brain works prevents me from being able to just drop it without consequence. Without this, I would not have enough to sustain my thoughts and fixations for a very long while. I feel essentially trapped in here within a fandom half-comprised of people I cannot stand to be around. Perhaps my standards are too high; but I feel like I have to strictly enforce the few standards that I do have, else I risk not having any at all. Everyone needs some standards; how else am I meant to enforce some self-discipline?

I don't know. I guess I miss the crowd I initially went into was still as interested in the thing as I am. Though I seriously don't have the energy to put out anything worthy of note, and I realize that myself not being prolific is a large part of the problem. They say if you want something done, to do it yourself, but I just can't. Some of my interest has faded, especially since some aspects of it- namely the mere act of rewatching it- have turned into a chore (though if I chilled a little with the screenshots, I likely would not have this problem; but also, if I do it once, then I never have to do it again, mostly, unless we finally get good-quality rips of the latter two seasons and not the slop that Crunchyroll got).
