Damn, Marinette knows that Adrien’s Chat Noir at this point, judging by the look on her face she’s put the pieces together. But she doesn’t want to. Not right now, not like this.

It’s kind of ironic actually. Adrien’s the one who has the most reason to be upset about the Reveal right now, but he just wants His Lady, his friend to recognize him, to reunite. While Marinette… well, for her the issue is mainly guilt.

Not really that surprising though, Adrien’s very understanding and forgiving, especially if he’s the only one being hurt, as opposed to say, someone hurting his friends. While Marinette tends to break down once she realizes she did something wrong, and have trouble pulling herself out of it, unless she can either see a way to make things right, or someone tells her that things will be okay (usually Chat or Alya).

Adrien has probably dreamed about this moment a thousand times, but he never could have predicted it happening with him on his knees absolutely weeping and surrounded by demolished baked goods.

He had practiced the line in his head a thousand times. "I finally found you, my lady." He pictured it in all sorts of scenarios-- whispered to her under his breath on the street or coolly spoken over an espresso during a rendezvous or warm and deep from his chest on a dark night in a place they used to patrol -- But in these dreams he was suave and together. Subtle and discrete, because he knew that's what his lady would've wanted, but even more so because it was going to be just for them to savor together.

He really thought he would be put together when it finally happened. The thought of it made him laugh, but it just came out as another sob.

He always knew there would be tears. He wasn't going to lie to himself about that. But maybe he wasn't quite honest about just how many tears.

Of course his lady would bring him to his knees. Of course his lady would come back to him like this. Vigilant, and perfect, and clever, if not utterly unpredictable.
