She cackles madly as Hawkmoth’s eyes widen in fear, the sound amplified and distorted by the magic coursing through her, reverberating through the space in which they stand.
When she speaks, it’s a thousand voices at once. He steps back, away from her. “You see, you hurt me, you took the last good thing I had away from me, but now? Now there’s nothing holding me back.”
*****
She looks up and away from the corpse in her arms, eyes locking on Hawkmoth with a sort of manic despair, and pure unbridled rage.
“You’ve made a terrible mistake, Hawkmoth.” She rests Chat’s body on the ground beside her, and removes his ring.
She places the ring on her finger and stares him down as she stands and says, “It will be your last.”
He’s focused on her, so focused he doesn’t look to see who Chat Noir is. He doesn’t care. He cares about the miraculous, both of which Ladybug has.
She looks down at her hand, caressing the ring as it conforms to fit her finger.
“You see, you’ve just killed the one person in the world that I cared about. The one person left that I love. I’m sure you wanted to hurt me, and I won’t lie, you’ve succeeded in that, but in doing so, you’ve made a grievous error.”
She shifts into a battle stance, calling on the powers of destruction to fuse with creation, and after the magic washes away, Ladybug is gone. She’s floating in the air in a bodysuit that seems to be completely black, but blood red spots can be seen where the sun glints off it. Her hair is no longer in its signature pigtails, instead it floats loosely in the air around her. Her suit seems to have remained largely the same except for the color, but she’s now wearing black ankle boots eerily similar to Chat Noir’s. Her mask is the same color as the suit, but her eyes are pure white and glowing with magic, with pure unbridled power. There’s a utility belt around her waist with the yoyo and baton, and her hands are now tipped with claws that glow with cataclysmic power.
Now there’s nothing holding me back.”
okay this is my first time doing this so sorry if it’s weird but i just wanted to say that i absolutely adore your writing!! i’m reading through them as fast as possible because they make me really happy and i just wanted to say that the edict is so cool! thank you for posting it both here and ao3 and thank you even more for writing it!! have a great day!!
AAAAAAAA this isn’t weird at all🥺it means so much to me! i post all my stuff on ao3 as well bc i know it’s easier to navigate on there instead of going through all the tags on here. thank you so much for reading and taking the time to send this!!!!!!!!!!!!! my heart is so full🥺💖
I remembered the quote from T.S. Eliot’s The Hollow Men and thought to myself, hey! Write an ML drabble for that!
But because a drabble is 100 words I ... failed. I ended up with 220 words so I guess you could call this ... a double drabble? Plus 20? I can’t do math, sorry.
Anyways. This is short. And because I am the worst, it is sad. And open ended. Do with that what you will!

This is the way the world ends
The clang of metal on metal. Staff against cane. Unstoppable force against an immovable object. Chat Noir against Hawkmoth.
This is the way the world ends
But, as much as he tried, Hawkmoth couldn’t get Chat alone. He couldn’t isolate him. Ladybug wouldn’t let him, but she’d let him think he did. It was all part of the plan.
(They knew he perceived Chat to be the weakest of their duo, as many civilians did as well. They knew Hawkmoth was too sure of himself to consider the fact that they are both very intimate with their own and each others weaknesses, and work well together because of that fact. The fact that neither of them are weaker than the other, they’re just stronger in different aspects.)
This is the way the world ends
A yoyo string wraps itself around Hawkmoth’s legs too quick to even see, and with one quick tug he falls to the ground, face first. He drops his cane, and Ladybug jumps into view right beside him. She kneels down and rips the butterfly miraculous off of his person.
The prone form of Gabriel Agreste is revealed to the heroes, to the city of Paris, and to the entire world.
“Getting better’s always on you. It has to be. And that doesn’t mean you’re alone. It doesn’t mean you can’t lean on others when you’re tired, or ask for directions when you get lost, but getting better’s a long road. And if you wanna get down it...you have to start walking.”
Hey I could be wrong but I thought I saw a fic from here but can't find it again, do you know the name of it? Alya films Ladybug transforming back into Ladybug, posts it thinking it'll be great and Lila and Marinette can stop lying about it, and Marinette get's upset with her. Chat is good.
Summary: The world they step into is Paris, but not.
*****
“I want you to remember this ... I want you to remember that I told you it won’t work. Remember that I’ve seen it. I’ve experienced it. I’ve lived it. Nothing I tried worked. Nothing you try will work, none of your plans, no matter how well thought out, will ever come to fruition like you want. It won’t work. You have to let him go. Remember that I told you, it’s ok to let him go.”
*****
Bunnix appears in front of them right after Ladybug casts the miraculous cure. Chat hadn’t used his cataclysm, and she only called for her lucky charm in order to cast the cure, so they have time. Bunnix motions frantically for them to follow her into the rabbit hole, and Ladybug immediately goes to follow, so Chat does the same.
The world they step into is Paris, but not.
The eiffel tower seems to be the only thing still intact. Various buildings are crumbled, empty shells of themselves. Entire streets are filled with rubble. They don’t see a single other person during their entire walk through the city. It looks like an apocalypse happened. Something catastrophic. Cataclysmic, even.
“What happened?” Chat gasps as they walk around the wreckage of what used to be Francois Dupont.
Bunnix stops in her tracks and her shoulders tighten.
“You died.”
Both Ladybug and Chat startle at the voice coming from somewhere behind them, and then blanch once they register the statement.
They turn around to see who it is.
Ladybug is confused, but also hopeful. Her eyes sparkle with determination, and both Bunnix and future Ladybug wince at the sight. “Well, if Bunnix brought us here to see this, to see you - me? Anyways - there has to be a way to fix it, right? A way to prevent it?”
Bunnix squeezes her eyes shut for a moment, infinite timelines playing out behind her eyelids, and when she opens them again, they are as old as time.
“Yes and no. You can fix this. You can prevent this.” She waves her arms to gesture to the wreckage, making sweeping motions to encompass all of Paris in her statement.
Future Ladybug chimes in after that statement.
“Yes. You can prevent this destruction. But once he dies, if he dies, you can’t save him. You can’t bring him back. If that moment ever happens, I want you to remember this. I want you to remember that I told you not to try and save him.
The spark in present Ladybug’s eyes has dimmed a little, and she grabs onto Chat’s hand tightly. “Well, you can at least tell us which akuma it is, can’t you? You can do that much for us.”
Future Ladybug inhales deeply and shakes her head. “No, I can’t.”
She looks to be in her early 20’s, but her eyes are sad and her voice is anguished, and she seems so much older.
As solemn and sad as future Ladybug seems, present Ladybug is the opposite. She’s furious, she steps up into future Ladybug’s space, so they’re standing toe to toe, and it’s ridiculous how small she is in comparison. How innocent she is. How much she hasn’t seen, or done, or had to do.
“How can you bring us here and show us this and give us nothing. You can’t tell us that Chat dies and then tell us you won’t tell us what’s going to kill him. Whether it be an akuma or not. You can’t do that to us.” She pokes her finger in future Ladybug’s face, making her take a step back. “Whatever happened to you to make you this, if you were really me.” She puts her arms down by her sides, fists clenched tightly. “If you were ever me, you’d know that.”
“Oh, believe me, tiny bug, I wish you weren’t me.”
She rubs her hand over her face, looking even more exhausted, and says, “I didn’t say that I won’t, I said I can’t. I can’t! I don’t know! I don’t know which akuma it is, or if it’s even an akuma, it’s a different one every time, and when it isn’t an akuma it’s always a different situation. No matter how many times I go back, no matter how far I go back, I can’t ever stop it. I’m telling you I don’t know.”
Future Ladybug steps away to pace, and sighs harshly. “I tried so many times that I lost count. I tried and failed and tried and failed and tried and failed. Fluff told us - told me, after hundreds and thousands of tries, that some things are set in stone. There are some events in history that are destined to happen no matter what. Nothing can stop it. Nothing can prevent it. Not even the combined power of creation and destruction. Nothing.”
She grabs onto present Ladybug’s shoulders and shakes her. “Listen to me. No matter how hard you try to stave it off, he will die, and if you don’t let him go, the consequences will be disastrous. World-ending.”
Her eyes water as she steps away and looks at Chat, and a single tear slips out of her eye. He was so young. He is so young. He never got the chance to grow up, to grow old. He still might not. It hurts, it still hurts so much. A huge integral part of her is missing, and she’ll never get it back.
“I’m so sorry Chaton. I never wanted it to go this way. I never wanted it to be like this. We - we were children. We were kids. We were too young for what happened to us. And I know you’re not him, you’re not my Chat, but I want you to know that I tried. I almost didn’t stop trying. I destroyed the world hundreds of times over before Bunnix finally put a stop to it, before Fluff finally talked some sense into me. I’m so, so sorry.” She falls to her knees, the mere sight of him so young and healthy and alive too much for her to handle.
She’s enveloped in a hug by arms she hasn’t felt for decades, for centuries.
“It’s ok, future Bug. I know it wasn’t your fault. You didn’t do that to him - to me. You didn’t kill him.”
A sob wrenches itself out of her, and Bunnix immediately comes to her other side. Future Ladybug grabs onto Bunnix’s hand tightly, so tightly her bones crack, and they’re both crying.
“That’s -” She’s cut off by another sob she can’t hold back. Bunnix falls to her knees beside Ladybug, hunched over in an attempt to hide her face, to hide the fact that she’s crying too.
“That’s exactly what he said to me.” Her voice breaks. “Every time.”
2020 has been seriously kicking my ass so far and it’s barely been a month ... sorry i’ve been kinda dead to the world i am STRUGGLING in my personal life w things like my health and shit like that and it’s all been super messy! physically and emotionally a bitch (me) is truly struggling!
SO - the edict is currently on hiatus. i won’t be able to post part 4 anytime soon. i do have a plan for it. i know what i want to do with it and where i want it to go but i honestly don’t think i’ll be able to write it anytime soon bc i don’t have the time or energy for a multi chapter fic right now.
my semester is pretty busy & i have a lot of shit going on health wise. (i’m chronically ill with an incurable illness and it is currently flaring like hell! and there’s nothing to do but wait it out and live through the pain) the only thing i can come up with are short little ficlet type things. so yes, there will be a part 4 of the edict eventually. i don’t know when. i have a lot of the aforementioned ficlets that i like that i might end up posting just to not leave you all completely hanging without any content but ... yea that’s how the beginning of my year has been going! not great but it can only go up from here!!! hopefully. anyways. i hope 2020 has been treating you all better than it’s been treating me!
feel free to send me prompts and stuff be it salt or angst or whatever and i’ll do my best to answer them. i still want and need to write even tho i’m putting the edict on hiatus.
and the taglist for the edict is still closed.
*tldr: the edict is on hiatus but i still want to write so send me prompts and stuff and i’ll do my best to answer them
Revenge is a Dish Best Served Cold (To All of You)
The phoenix is a mythical bird that crumbles into dust at the end of its life, and is reborn as a baby again, rising from the ashes. It is a symbol of rebirth, a story of pain and trauma; it represents how a determined soul, a burning angel, can reform, and rebuild.
But first they had to die.
Marinette felt roaring flames in her heart each time she saw Lila; her fists clenched so hard she drew blood, but she said nothing, and as more and more fires bloomed inside of her chest, they began to suffocate one another. They fought for oxygen, battling for their lives, and she struggled not to spew smoke as her so-called friends tore up her homework, sent terrible messages, and destroyed her things.
Lila herself felt as if the green flame of envy she had always possessed was further expanded with gasoline when she watched the other girl struggle not to snap. She smirked behind her hand as she finally broke, falling to her knees, picking up the remains of her sketchbook.
But she didn’t cry. No, she looked up, her gaze meeting the brunette’s, and her jaw clenched as she stood. Marinette closed her eyes, exhaled deeply, and when she opened them again, there was no heat, no blind fury in the windows to her soul; there was frost coating the glass, ghosts of past winters swirling around her at the bottom of an abyssal lake.
There was a subzero kind of anger in her eyes, an efficient, malicious and cunning plan of a takedown, one most like an infamous quote from The Godfather: “It’s not personal—it’s strictly business.”
With a start, Lila realized she was scared, and Marinette smiled, eyes still icy trenches at the crushing ocean depths.
Silently, to the shock of her classmates, she tossed the ruined sketchbook in the trash, dusted off her hands, and almost skipped to the back, blowing a kiss to the paralyzed brunette in the front.
When their teacher walks in, her lesson is unheard by Lila; she can feel two twin icicles pressing against the back of her head, but she can’t turn around, too afraid of what she’d see.
Was she always this horrifying, the girl wondered, or am I going crazy?
It isn’t until the bell rings and she corners her classmate in the bathroom that they speak for the first time that day.
“What do you want?” Marinette says, and Lila almost shivers at her former victim’s inflections.
“I need to know what you’re planning to do to me for revenge.”
“Revenge? You think I have a personal vendetta against only you, fox-face?” She leans in with a smirk, the glint of a sniper’s scope in her piercing gaze. “No,” she said, shaking her head with a chuckle; “I’m taking everyone else down with you.”
Lila tried to appear unintimidated, crossing her arms and flipping her hair with a scoff.
“And how are you going to do that?”
“By removing myself from the equation.” Green eyes blinked, while the blue eyes didn’t.
“What?”
“Tomorrow morning, Rossi, I’m going to resign as the class president, and stop making clothes for everyone; they’ll be banned from the bakery, and any other places I can reach. You claim to know Jagged Stone, but I know you’re wrong, because I do.”
The brunette’s jaw hung open. With a malicious grin, Marinette patted the brunette’s head, and walked out with a smile.
(To be continued? It’s 11:46, so I think it’s going to become a pattern.)
i literally got chills reading the first paragraph of this ... the bit about the phoenix and how they rise from the ashes reborn and renewed ... but first they have to die.

Wang Fu hadn’t realized, hadn’t stopped to think for even a moment about the power of the miraculous. The power behind it. The power of destruction. A cataclysm. What it could do to a person, to their soul.
*****
Marinette sits at her desk with the miracle box next to her. If her parents come in, it’ll look to them like she’s just working on another design project, because to everyone’s eyes but her own, the miracle box looks like a sewing machine. It’s ingenious, and Tikki promised to explain more about the magic behind it once they’ve gotten her more settled as the guardian.
First, the old tongue.
She grabs one of her many empty notebooks, ready to take notes, as one does when learning a new language, but Tikki tells her she doesn’t need it.
She’s confused at first, but then soon finds that when Tikki speaks in the old tongue, she can understand it. She knows what Tikki is saying, and is able to respond in kind if she focuses.
The old tongue feels like a rumble going through her with a tinge of magic and something timeless, something unknowable, and as she speaks it she realizes that it sounds and feels unlike any language she’s ever heard or spoken in her entire life.
Tikki smiles at Marinette’s excitement after she realizes she is able to respond in kind (and it’s so telling of what kind of person Marinette is that her first instinct was to respond back in the old tongue. Her first instinct was to try to respond to Tikki in kind, in Tikki’s native language, and she succeeded on her first try. The knowledge is intrinsic, yes, but it has taken many guardians at least 3 tries to get it right, to focus completely. It brings tears to her eyes if she thinks of it too long) and explains. “The old tongue is known by all the Kwami, and it is passed onto the guardian so they are able to communicate and connect with us. It’s intrinsic, the knowledge just appears, and disappears once guardianship is passed.”
“That’s amazing! It’s so cool that I could understand you, does it work with other languages? You guys probably know all of them already, but would I be able to know them too? Is there a way for me to have that knowledge? It would be so great to be able to talk with everyone in their native language as Ladybug, I think that’s something that’s really important to make people feel more comfortable and safe.”
Tikki sits on the desk silently as Marinette continues. The girl is rambling now, scribbling in her notebook all the languages she’s heard spoken around Paris, which ones are more common, and in what parts of the city, etc.
And the thing is, Tikki knows how good Marinette is. She created her soul. But having the evidence here in front of her is almost too much.
Here is Marinette, a physically small 15 year old girl, fresh out of the hospital after dying no less than 5 times in one night, and her first thought is of how she can help others. How she can do better. Be better. She is always striving for greatness, and she’s never satisfied, which grates on her because the world is so cruel and she is so kind.
She wouldn’t have had to be if Chat had been a true destruction soul. It would have never devolved into this. The chaos of destruction would have tempered the chaos of creation and all of this would never have happened.
The imbalance has taken a toll on Marinette’s body, in ways she never even realized or thought to disclose because she’s so used to handling everything herself, of holding the weight of the world on her shoulders, which was only exacerbated by Chat not being a true soul of destruction.
She doesn’t think she’ll ever get over this. She won’t forget that Wayzz didn’t know. That even Plagg didn’t know. That he couldn’t tell, which means that Fu had done something to either Adrien or the miraculous in order for Plagg not to be able to tell that Adrien was not a true destruction soul.
The edict has been passed and Marinette is alive and well, and it should be enough but Tikki is as old as time and life itself and she is still angry. She is still angry. She has lived thousands of years. One day is not enough time for her anger to dissipate. It may not for hundreds of years. The last time she was even close to being this furious, the humans called it the Dark Ages.
Marinette wouldn’t want her to be this angry on her behalf.
But no one else is. No one else is at Marinette’s back. Not the old master. Not her old partner. Not her parents, not her friends at school, because they can’t know. She is, effectively, alone.
She is under no delusions that interaction with Kwami can substitute for human contact. Tikki is too small to brush her hair, her arms are not big enough to envelop Marinette in a hug when she desperately needs it. She tries her best, and Marinette knows it and would never, ever, fault her for it, but sometimes it isn’t enough.
So the least she can do is be angry for her. To remind her that it’s ok to not be ok. It’s ok to be upset, angry even, about how she’s been treated. It’s ok to have negative feelings, it doesn’t make her less than. The only thing it does is makes her human.
Hawkmoth is a sick, cruel man.
*****
She doesn’t go to school for the next week, the doctors were adamant about her being on bedrest, nothing strenuous, nothing stressful, and her parents agreed immediately.
She huffs a sigh as her dad puts her down on her bed. “Papa. How many times do I have to tell you. It’s been 3 days! I can walk up the stairs by myself!”
He ruffles her hair with one huge hand and grins. “I know, I know. It’s just been so long since I got to carry you like this! Let your old papa reminisce a little, won't you?”
She rolls her eyes, trying hard to at least keep looking annoyed in the face of her father’s sunshiney grin, but he smiles wider at her, and she loses. She can’t help but smile back at him.
“Fine. Fine! But only for this week! I have two perfectly functioning legs and I plan on using them as soon as possible!”
“Of course, of course.” He kisses her on the forehead, and calls out an “I love you!” as he walks back down the stairs.
“I love you too!” She hollers back as his footsteps fade away.
Tikki flies up into her line of sight and winces, “I’m sorry Marinette. I guess I healed you too well too fast, huh.”
“It’s not your fault Tikki, it’s just a little frustrating being cooped up like this. I know everyone’s worried about me, but I’m fine! I feel fine.”
Tikki nods in agreement. “I know. But it’s ok if you aren’t. I wish you had more time, I wish I could give you more time, but a new Chat Noir has to be chosen as soon as possible. The imbalance has already taken a toll on your body, the human body can only handle so much.” Her face hardens as she remembers all the headaches and bruises Marinette brushed off. “I’m sorry I didn’t notice sooner. There’s no excuse.”
Marinette opens her mouth to respond but a rapid knocking on her door interrupts her, and Tikki rushes to hide herself before it opens abruptly, and Alya all but stumbles in.
“Mari! Girl! Oh man. Oh my god we’ve been so worried. You weren’t in school and they obviously couldn’t tell us what happened, and your parents wouldn’t tell us much because they didn’t want us to worry so as soon as they said you might be up for visitors I ran up here! Are you? Up for visitors? Because if not I can leave. I can leave like. Right now. Just say the word.”
She can’t help but grin at Alya’s word vomit. It’s something she would do, and it’s endearing to see that she’s rubbed off on Alya as much as Alya has rubbed off on her.
“Of course you don’t have to leave, Alya. I’m fine! The doctors put me on bed rest for the week, which is a little overkill if you ask me, but I’m fine.”
Alya’s face crumples, and it looks like she’s trying not to cry. She comes up and sits next to Marinette on her bed. She grabs a hold of both of her hands and looks right into her eyes. “Mari. Your parents told me - they told me what happened. You don’t have to pretend to be ok to make me feel better, to make us feel better. You’re allowed to feel however you feel and you don’t need to pretend to not be feeling it for our sake.”
Marinette blinks at her in shock. “Alya, I - I’m not … I really am fine. Nothing hurts that much anymore, and I’m only on bedrest to make sure I’m forced to give my heart a rest. I am frustrated, being cooped up like this when I feel perfectly fine, but that’s it, really. I’m not lying or faking or pretending or anything. I swear. I don’t even remember most of it. Any of it, really. I just remember I had a bad cough that didn’t go away, and then I woke up in the hospital. But I’m fine.”
Marinette squeezes Alya’s hands in hers and says, “You’re such a great friend. The best. I love you, girl.” Alya huffs out a laugh at the familiar term of endearment, and let’s go of Marinette’s hands to wipe the tears off her face.
“No girl, I love you.”
“No no no! I love you the most! You have to let me win this one, Alya!” She throws herself back onto her bed and raises her hand to her forehead dramatically. “I’ve been injured! I’m on bedrest, Alya! You must let me win!”
Alya rolls her eyes and sits cross legged on the bed across from Marinette. “Fine. Just this once! And only because you’re on bed rest!”
Marinette smiles smugly at her as she sits up, and Alya immediately shoves her back into her pillow.
“Alya! I’m injured!”
“Oh, whatever. Now sit up so we can do each other’s nails and talk about what’s been going on this week. You’ll never believe how Adrien has been acting.”
Marinette goes cold, and she uses the excuse of going to get the nail supplies to take the time to collect herself.
Tikki phases into the bag of nail supplies when Alya looks away, probably busy texting the class that Marinette is fine.
“Marinette. He can’t get you here. He doesn’t know who you are. He made his bed and now he’s lying in it, and it is not your fault. If you want to blame anyone, blame me. If he wants to blame anyone, he can blame me.” Her face is solemn as she looks into Marinette’s eyes and uses the old tongue, to remind her who she’s speaking to, to remind her what Tikki is. “It was my decision.”
Marinette nods shakily, and she closes her eyes for a moment and takes a deep breath. “I know. I know. Thank you. You’re right. It’s just - still a bit of a shock. Ok, a big shock. Knowing that Chat is … was him. It’s just. It makes me kind of sick, to be honest. Now I know what kind of person he really is. I’ve seen his true face. The person he is when his actions don’t have consequences. I hate it. I hate it.”
“Marinette! Do you need help grabbing the stuff? You’re still technically on bed rest! Girl! Let me grab those!” Alya is suddenly next to her, all but snatching the bag of supplies out of her hands, and notices that Marinette’s complexion is kind of pale, her eyes a little distant.
“Mari? Do you need to sit down? Do you need me to get your parents?”
She blinks back at her, and smiles sheepishly. “No, but you’re right, the bag was a little much for me to be carrying at this point, even though I thought I felt fine. I think I just need to sit down for a little bit. Thank you.”
They spend the rest of the night doing each other’s nails and makeup and gossiping, and Alya notices Marinette’s attempts at steering the conversation away from Adrien, and takes the hint. Maybe the life and death experience has made her realize something she’s not ready to share, and she needs to move on. She’s not pushing it. Not this soon, maybe not ever unless Marinette is truly willing to talk about it.
All she can do is be here to support Marinette, to be there for her.
*****
Wang Fu has made countless mistakes in his life. The most recent of which, which is also the last mistake he’ll ever make, was pissing off the Kwami of Creation. He will die soon, but Tikki made sure to give him enough time to dwell on his mistakes, which is exactly what he’s doing.
Now that he’s forced to think about it, he has to admit, at least to himself, that he doesn’t really know what he was thinking. He can’t recall why he made the decisions he did. What prompted him. What drove him.
He knew Adrien wasn’t a true destruction soul. He knew. He even performed a spell on Adrien that he found in the grimoire before he gave him the miraculous.
It was a spell to unleash the spirit of destruction from whomever it was cast upon. It was used on true destruction souls to help solidify their bond with Plagg, to help them come into their full potential sooner in times of dire need.
He hadn’t known it was only to be used on true destruction souls. He didn’t know what it would do to a soul that wasn’t one of true destruction. He hadn’t realized, hadn’t stopped to think for even a moment about the power of the miraculous. The power behind it. The power of destruction. A cataclysm. What it could do to a person, to their soul.
He didn’t realize it until now, lying on the floor of his shop, body bruised and broken at the hands of the boy he once trusted with the power of destruction. He saw the look in Adrien’s eyes. He knew something wasn’t right.
He didn’t realize it until it was too late. Too late for him, at least.
Before he passes out from the pain he has one fleeting thought. He’s grateful. He’s grateful that Tikki saw what was happening, saw what he couldn’t, what he wouldn’t. Tikki took the actions needed. He will die, but Marinette is alive. She will be a good guardian. The greatest.
He has to die for her to live, to thrive. He has made too many mistakes, and although he won’t make any more, he would never have acknowledged them if it weren’t for this. He was too selfish, too stubborn, and Tikki knew that. This is the only way.
He’s just sorry it took this long.

“Fine.” A twisted smile crossed her face as Marinette roughly wiped her eyes and grinned at the class who had just torn up her precious sketchbook. A chill ran through them—this was so far from her regular behavior, it was almost as if she’d been replaced by an akuma, but Hawkmoth would’ve won by now, if so.
“‘Fine’ what?” Lila purred, batting her eyelashes, obviously baiting the girl. She was ignored, as Marinette’s voice dropped into a snarl.
“You want me to be a bully? To be a monster? So be it.” She took out her phone, dialed a number, and said, in a gleeful tone, “Uncle Jagged, remember how I mentioned that bully? Well, that same underage girl claimed you wrote a song about her.” A pause as her smirk widened. “I have recordings, security camera footage, and if there’s anything else you need, you can go on her supposed bestie’s tabloid of a website—The Ladyblog. Good luck on the lawsuit, but I doubt you’ll need it. Bye, Uncle Jay.”
She hung up, put her hands on her hips, and leered at the horrified group, before turning to look at Lila in the front row. Her face softened in a satiric manner as she walked up to her, put her hands on the desk, and leaned forward to say something only she could hear.
“Even I have my limits.” Pulling back, she blew a kiss to the class, slung her bag, left on a nearby desk when she went out, over her shoulder, and turned on her heel. She cackled as she went out the door, Caline stepping aside so she could leave, her so-called star student (really a punching bag) singing a familiar song under her breath: “Do you hear the people sing?”
oh the salt, the SALT of it all, I LOVE IT, i’m ready for some sweet sweet salt-induced hypertension. yes! i love angry marinette, i love her standing up for herself, i Love how you had her immediately calling uncle jagged (i love that SO MUCH it never gets old) i love me some bustier salt, and i also looooooove les mis so her singing that song at the end ... SINGING THE SONG OF ANGRY MEN ..... HELL YES this was *chef’s kiss* brilliant and salty i could put this on my dinner. please don’t stop writing! you don’t necessarily have to write a follow up of this (unless you want to of course!) but PLEEEASE keep sharing your shit. this was so good. DELICIOUS. I LOVED IT.
I wrote a fic semi-inspired by your series of songs, but it’s 11:38 at night and I’m not sure how to tell you that you are the reason I started writing more fanfiction again so thanks (ps. please check out my fic if you can, it would be awesome to get a review from you)
wow i’ve literally been sitting here thinking of this ask all day i’m sorry i don’t have anything more to say i literally just. my mind is blown like ITS SO CRAZY TO ME THAT I INSPIRED YOU EVEN A LITTLE i want to cry it just? my heart is FULL!!! 🥺 i’m so glad you decided to write fan fiction again and that you’re putting your stuff into the world and that I COULD BE A PART OF THAT FOR YOU ... it means so much to me thank you So much for this! i’ll definitely go check it out!
if u ever wanna scream about anything even if we’ve literally never talked before just go ahead and message me like. i will scream w u about whatever! i see you all as my friends🥺 i will also cry w u! i love crying! (ok i don’t love it but i do it a lot bc sometimes it is necessary! sometimes a bitch (me) needs to cry!)
i know we don’t know each other at all even tho i love your blog (not the point sorry) but you’re absolutely allowed to be upset about this and you can cry if you want to. sometimes you need to cry it out! i’m sorry your parents are pushing their expectations onto you, that’s not ok and i wish you didn’t have to experience that. you don’t deserve it and it isn’t your fault, you haven’t done anything wrong or anything to warrant it. do you see a therapist or a professional in that kind of field? would your parents even consider sending you to one? it might be helpful to be able to talk to someone else about this that isn’t a family member/friend from school (who i’m assuming might be) your age. even tho all of us on here have your back! i hope the rest of your day goes better
