A new favorite spot on #ku campus, Potter Lake. On the perfect day, and the perfect location, it’s like a painting. The stone path across adds an extra sense of joy. And the giant (!) snapping turtle 🐢 adds an extra sense of excitement. If anyone knows the story of this turtle, please share. It may not even be a snapper (sure looks like one, though). We’ve taken to growing monarch butterflies (Eric Carle) during this quarantine period. It’s actually quite satisfying to get them as tiny caterpillars and have them hatch and grow into butterflies. They’ll be released in a few days. Their wings are just now strengthening enough to take flight. I’ll miss them. But then I’ll probably do it again.
