And last but not least two pullovers I made for other people. The hoodie in the upper pictures is fully lined, the other isn’t but has a thicker outer shell. Very happy with how these turned out :3
...and more of last years sewing projects... Really amazing how many people actually are now running around in “sceptical cat” meinsack underpants
P.S.: If you want to make your own you can get the fabric here
Stuff I made for other people last year :D
Fabrics:
Sceptical Cat
Cyber
Triangles
...even more stuff I made 2017 and forgot to upload...
the bathing suit was probably my weirdest project 2017 as it looks more like a cosplay than something one should wear (and I know I messed up the pattern repeat u_u)
I did not make the awesome shirtstorm-shirt, that was made by Ellie Prizeman
Kwik Sew pattern K4154 is really nice, I recommend it!
I forgot to add a lot of stuff to tumblr last year...
I made a laptop carrier for the bf. All the interfacing made it tedious to sew on my old machine but I guess it was worth it. I made the pattern so it would fit his x270 vertically since there seems to be a lack of vertical laptop bags. It features a zipper pocket in the front, a padded divider in the main body, a magnetic closure and an adjustable strap. It is also quite sturdy and will hopefully be easy to clean with the pleather part at the bottom.
You can get the fabric I used for the inside here:

Just as a quick write down of my color organ dress v2:
I hope you can see what it does a little bit on the only crappy video I unfortunately made during the event :D (I was way too busy again having fun than to think about documenting my project, I was actually trying to see if I could influence my ears there, when I filmed this, heh... I’m not sure, what do you say?): Like a color organ the LEDs fade and go on/out regarding to volume. It was pretty loud in the exhibition hall but I hope you can still see the effect well enough.
I made this using an Adafruit Gemma M0 and their MEMS microphone. I designed the fabric myself and had it printed at spoonflower, the pattern I used for the dress is McCall’s M6028 and I highly recommend it since it has an amazing fit :3
The directions for sewing on the LEDs are simple enough and pretty much electronics 101. You have to make sure they get juice, so they have a (+)-circuit and they need ground via (-)-circuit. You don’t have to connect these two in order. It is important to do some layout planning ahead so you won’t have short circuits because of crossing +/-/Data-circuits (that’s why there is some black isolating tape around some wires close to the gemma on my dress). The data-circuit is the only one that is required to be “in order”; -> to -> strictly. To prevent issues due to sweating I recommend to add another layer (or several layers) of fabric between the circuits and your skin. Also the wire is pretty scratchy. This also does make it prone to “friction holes” in the fabric, so you might want to choose your fabric accordingly.
I did the sewing and my boyfriend had to do the programming again. I myself have never evolved beyond programming simple blinking lights and the integration of the microphone and making the LEDs “react” to the volume is way too complex for me. We had a few problems this time because the microphone is actually “smarter” than expected and corrects the gain - I hope I’m expressing this correctly - in loud environments automatically, thus leading to having my boyfriend to calibrate it and change stuff in the code multiple times. In retrospect the microphone we used for the v1 would work probably better and I’m possibly gonna harvest the v1s remains (it died of developing a short circuit because of too narrow a sewing pattern, a design mistake I didn’t repeat this time - I hope) and might exchange them later.
Thanks for the last two pictures go to Sascha Ludwig for being my spontaneous photographer :3 (the horrible blurring was done by me just in case someone might have been recognizable in the distance after all)
P.S: If you know the nice young woman in the christmas outfit say hi to her :D I hope she was having as much fun as I had at 34c3
there are only two modes
TGIC! Thanks goodness it’s Caturday! Let’s take a moment to celebrate those cats in our lives who aren’t fond of posing for photos with their humans and aren’t the least bit afraid to show the world exactly how they feel.

Resized my Lord Nermal pullover I got last winter since rip'n'dip don't have this in girl styles. The boyfriend look really doesn't suit me. I had to take the arms off because the fit of the shoulda was abysmal. The only thing I dislike after altering is that the pattern doesn't match up like before but I guess that can't be helped :(
I made a pullover from some knit fabric I found in the sale bin. Pattern is McCalls's 7127. I thinkn I prefer wearing it backwards since the fabric is rather see through when it is only a single layer and I didn't even have enough left for the arms :D
I made my first pair of panties!
I drafted the pattern myself, they're kind of hipster-style panties. Fabric motif was made by my boyfriend and printed at spoonflower (https://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/6521308-sceptical-cat-on-teal-by-mirromaru)
Today the Department of Extraordinary Embroidery is delighted to get share new work by textile artist Yumi Okita (previously featured here), who continues to use he skill with a needle and thread, wire, faux fur, and feathers to create oversized soft sculptures of moths, butterflies, and cicadas that look like they’re about to flutter and fly away.

wasabis been flaking like crazy in the past week and ive been pulling off some really ridiculous pieces of shed from her
i think its interesting how the shed pattern matches the skin coloration underneath and how the spines comes off like little daggers and ALSO feel like little daggers when theyre stepped on. someone please tell her to clean up after herself
Once on my way to work I saw a bird and imagined what they would look like if they had proportional to their sizes human noses, and that it would be something that would come from you. I don't know if you take suggestions but I had to tell you this.
youre waiting at a bus stop when this lands on your shoulder and sharply inhales, just once. unnerved, you turn to the person next to you and see they havent even noticed; in fact, nobody around you seems to be paying attention. you casually inquire when the bus is arriving, and they dont so much as glance at the bird the whole time they answer. you realize nobody else can see it but you. it inhales again
