my main issue with making aus is that i will also make sub aus. like the au but theres some different significant change or addition to it. and ill keep making these in my brain until theres like an entire ecosystem of them
The homeless fella's deadpan face said it all after that comment:
"You think I can afford a five star hotel then?"
And he wanted to add a punch to that, but the timing of a few rain droplets hitting the ground couldn't be more-- perfect, and his focus turned to making sure his stuff wouldn't get immediately soaked. Last thing he needed was to smell like wet dog... and for someone to poke at him for it.
"Better than being in group area that jumps you without you looking."
After stuffing his duffle bag securely under some cardboard boxes, he picked up the messy cig that was just.. there, in his spot, STILL. Between his fingers he crushed it even further, making this another point to the bratface's question as he rose, holding the remains in their face.
"Also less mess to deal with." Now all that remains was bits of the cig pressed against Viktor's masked mouth.
"Neither can I, but I at least have a roof over my head," Viktor responds, not adding the part where a relative gave him the house, meaning he didn't have to pay a single thing for it. He peers up at the sky, noticing the dark clouds and rain falling.
His attention is brought back to the stranger after the crushed cigarette is pushed into his mask. The visor returns to X's as he goes silent for a moment, thinking about his next choice of words.
"If you want..." Viktor sighs, only doing this because he has been in the same situation before and felt the need to help. "You can swing by my place for the night. Then you won't have to worry about your stuff getting soaked."

First, Vortex gives Blaze a well-needed bath, getting his claws into the hard-to-reach areas and pulling out anything he had lodged between his armor.
Next, he lays Blaze down on his side so he can cuddle in front and grab his aft.

He sets down the coffee cup to the safety of a nearby table, already lowering himself down so he doesn't hit anything incase of his frame just giving away without a warning.

He doesn't need to watch Vortex for too long for Blaze's ego to bask in the satisfaction, knowing a simple pet-name is enough to short-circuit his processor.
Even when Vortex goes for the conversational topic Blaze would do anything to avoid, it doesn't bother him like it used to. "I don't have any plans to lose it. So, no thanks." He props his leg up on the berth, arm leaning against the knee. "You'd be in for a boring time there. Who knows if that equipment hasn't vanished over time somehow."
Just making those little shifts to get comfortable reminds him of the cause behind his helmache. For that, he needs a simple solution.
A simple meal. Whatever time of day it is, doesn't concern Blaze. If he could, he would drink coffee instead of energon every single time.
"I'm feeling quite peckish, so how about we have something to eat..." He suppresses a sneer threatening to foil his line delivery. "... Pancake? Like you know. With some copper chips."
Just how much can he afford to push Vortex?
Vortex squeezes the device in his grasp when stopping halfway into the room, observing Blaze. His rotors twitch before he lets out a small chuckle. "Oh, I know you have your equipment. "I did more than just molest you when you were drugged up." He responds, bluffing yet proud, while strolling around and typing something into the device.
Another word that will be censored for Blaze, whether it was intentional or not. He wasn't taking it any more.
The device beeps indicating the charge was set, and Vortex presses the button to send an excruciating shock to Blaze through the collar. Not enough to completely short circuit Blaze's systems, but enough to make him motionless and silent for a moment.
"Listen, sugarplum, your leg is almost healed, and you're clearly exhausted from me. If you give it a few more days, you'll be back out there selling contraband and sleeping in filthy alleys again." Vortex states as he steps over to the other helicopter. "I'll get you something to eat, Primus forbid I let my little cutie pie starve, and you..." He leans over to wave the device in his servo and grin.
"You stay here and be good, or the next one will make you leak for a week, and then that'll be another problem I have to keep you around for."

sure, i may fail to mention it every now and then, or maybe we don’t talk/plot. that just means that i’m shy and awkward and don’t want to bother you, OR, i have the memory of a goat and sometimes may forget to tell you certain headcanons/plot points, whatever.

Individually:
Vortex: Trans. Pan. (Although finds himself attracted to copters/flier types and medics more so for reasons.) Close to Blast Off. More of a friends-with-benefits type outside the team. Sex drive: 9/10
Onslaught: Aromantic. His team is all he really needs/ focuses on. Sex drive: 5/10
Blast Off: Gay. Close with Vortex. Attracted to big mechs as well as copters. Very picky with partners outside the team. Sex drive: 6.5/10
Brawl: Pan. Leaning on Aromantic. (Prefers close friendships.) FWB type outside the team. Sex drive: 7/10
Swindle: Gay. (Will flirt with anyone for con purposes, but sticks to mechs.) On the fence about wanting a partner but also extremely picky and think it's not worth the time, especially outside the team. Sex Drive: 4/10
Together they are a non-romantic poly group. (Technically married if you count the gestalt bond.)
Bruticus because yes: Basically an ace/ aro all around. Though he does find attachments to people the Combaticons know very well. (Ex. Blaze, First Aid.)
Winter rolls her eyes, while she may not have understood what Swindle had said, it doesn't take a genius to figure out what he was talking about from Viktor's reply. "Actually its because we're closer to hell and therefore are filled with more spite and evil thoughts." She retorts, with a middle finger of her own to both men.
Despite the witty remakes Winter makes sure to listen to Swindle's instructions. They seemed simple enough but she couldn't help bit wince at the thought of burning vehicles, she gets why it needed to be done but it still seemed like such a waste. But that feeling quickly subsides with the mention of the medical room.
Winter's face practically lights up with excitement. "A whole room?" She gasps. A whole room is exactly like a whole hospital when your biggest luxury was a medical tent or two if you were lucky. "Sound good? Are you kidding I get a whole medical room? What are we waiting for? When do we start?" She grins, acting like a kid in a candy shop, barely contained to her seat.
"Then what are we waiting for?" Viktor states as he gets up from his seat and motions the lady to follow him. First, he gets Winter to change into something more concealing to blend into the night better and ensure she didn't have to suffer in heels the whole time.
During the job, Viktor gives a rundown of what to do, how to know when you're being tailed, how to use certain roads to lose them, and how to avoid any busy areas with cameras and cops. The darkness provided a perfect shield against everything else. He also explains that if there are any packages inside the vehicle, do not open them, as that is beyond their authority to do so.
Once everything was set and done, the rendezvous was the finale stop where someone waited with a vehicle to bring them back to the club. Except, as Viktor approaches the back alley, he felt something was off right away. The vehicle was left unattended and the man usually meeting him here was no where to be found.
"That's odd." Viktor claims to step over to the vehicle, grab the handle, and find the door unlocked. He looks in the back seat and searches around the front in hopes of finding something they left behind. "Fuck." He huffs, pushing the door closed, and glances over to Winter. The visor flashes exclamation marks, but before he can get a word out, something covers over his mask and applies pressure to his throat.
He attempts to struggle, trying to push whoever is behind him into the vehicle, clawing at their arms, but the grip gets tighter, and he passes out soon after.
there's a special place in my heart for people who made an effort to be my friend regardless of how quiet or distant i can get at times
Human AU brain rot is serious.
Anyways... this is the closest to how I see the Combaticons in my head. (Although I am getting a ref of Vortex's human look eventually.)
Onslaught defiantly gives me Ghost vibes. Covers his face 100% of the time so no one, not even the others, know what he looks like or what his life is like outside the army. Very cool and collective, but a dangerous man out on the field, especially if his team is in trouble. Most muscular one on the team.
Brawl is the big brother of the group, always ensuring the others eat/drink, have enough bullets, can stand on their own, and so on. He's big enough to carry two people and is very heavy duty. Loves to cook.
Blast Off. The sniper, but can join the others for more close quarter missions. He was also the quietest member of the group until Onslaught partnered him up with Vortex a lot, making him open up more than usual. Became quiet again after Vortex's accident.
There are two other members in the squad, but they are basically background characters I haven't put too much thought into yet. One is the dog handler though.
Vortex was the newest member of the team. Young, too much energy, yet was the highest graduate which is why Onslaught took him. He bonded extremely well with the others, and completed missions over the years up until his accident. He still keeps in contact with them, mostly Blast Off, and ends up working for Swindle.
Swindle is the only one that isn't a part of the military since he's in the mafia. He finds Vortex after his accident and offers him work, has meet Blast Off and Brawl but is terrified of Onslaught. Always speaks Italian when angry.

Takeout, booze and shit talking. Three things that had become a ritual to the chaotic pair. Tonight was Winter's turn to provide the goodies. Armed with two boxes of pizza and a crate of beer, Winter uses her foot to tap on the front door of Viktor's place. For a few moments she waits quietly humming to herself, yet she gets no answer. Winter taps the door again and waits for a few more moments, still no answer.
Winter's humming comes to a stop as her arms begin to ache from the weight of the case of beer. The little Russian opts for trying the door handle and to her surprise she finds it unlocked. Strange.. She thinks to herself. Viktor never came across as the kind of person to just leave his door unlocked.
Shaking the thought off as she lets herself in Winter peers around Viktor's place. There's still no sign of him. "Viktor?" She calls out as she puts the beer and the boxes of pizza own in the kitchen.
Maybe he's asleep? She ponders, heading over to the bedroom. Without warning the short blonde bursts into his bedroom, fully intending to wake the man up. "Rise and shine!" She harmoniously shouts before grabbing and yanking the duvet back revealing much more than she could've imagined. "OH!" She loudly announces. "Didn't realise you had company."
The two men sleeping on the bed were completely oblivious to the guest inside. Nothing was heard, not the front door swinging open or the creaking of the floorboards. The last few hours have been... exhausting to say the least, to the point that they passed out without another thought.
Then came the wake-up call, not the lady exploding into the room or the cheerful idiom; those were just warnings before the bedsheet was ripped away from them, exposing their bare bodies to the room. Neither of them gasped or made a sound; they reacted like they were being attacked by sitting up instantly and shifting toward the other end of the bed.
Viktor squints at the intruder, recognizing the silhouette from the light shining in through the doorway. "Winter?" He's about to ask why she was here, but the smell of food coming off the woman's clothes brings it all back to him.
He invited her over for a night of dining and drinking, moments before Beau showed up unannounced for some... much-needed stress relief. And speaking of him...
Viktor turns to face Winter, bends a leg, and rests his wrist against his knee, revealing more of himself than he needed to, but it wasn't so the woman could ogle him; it was to keep Beau hidden behind him. He can feel the man's arm pressed against his back, his breaths steady on his shoulder.
Beau wasn't a scared or shy person; he was annoyed and in an uncomfortable position with a female in the room. "Who is she?" He asks, yet he knew Viktor could pick up on his tone that it wasn't a question; it was a request to get her to leave.
"She's a friend. It's fine, man." The blonde man glances back to his friend before looking back at the woman and waves. "Hi. Uh..." He pauses; for once, he is at a loss for words. "I guess the front door was unlocked?"

Simon laughed, letting himself be pushed into the stall and pinned. The squeezing made him grin, muscles flexing and showing off before he grabbed at Victor. One hand in his hair and yanking his head to drag him into a hungry kiss, the other immedatly working at Victor's pants.
