Morning sunlight streams through the gaps in your living room curtains, casting pale yellow shapes over the floor. A shard of it has been inching over the sofa towards Sylus, the sharp edge now grazing the side of his face. He shifts, ever so slightly, away from its touch. His eyes are open but heavy.
“No,” you scold, leaning forwards to swat at him with your book. “That’s not what I meant, you narcissist.”
He chuckles with his usual low timbre— his gaze still not lifting— and the sound is deeper for how close he is to sleep. He wants to give in to it, you can tell. When he turns a page, the movement is languid, soft. You’re losing him.

His coat on a rainy day. The entire plate of macarons in the end; he’s never been very good at denying you anything. For the first time since you’d stirred him from his book, however, he appears genuinely regretful. “You’re forgetting something, sweetie,” he murmurs gently. “Why did we stop going to that café, hmm?”
You shrug.
“It closed, kitten,” he sighs. “Months ago.”

Not only did you already know that— you actually visited the café on its final day. The owner was telling you stories: he was moving somewhere warmer, closer to family, and he needed all the funds he could get. Sylus had snuck an obscene amount of money into the man’s tip jar whilst you acted as a distraction. You both had fond memories of that place; it was nice to make one more.

How he spent an hour on the phone bargaining for a certain macaron recipe, and several more hours in the kitchen, trying to get them perfect. “Now, they might not be exactly the same, sweetie. You surge forwards, capturing his lips in a kiss. It’s so impulsive— so reckless— that you almost tumble down from the couch, but he catches you, steadies you, and your hand is gripping the soft of his hair as he kisses you back. Slowly, his mouth not leaving yours, he lifts you back into your seat.

I'm very sure that he lectures his boys at least three times a month about the importance of protecting their little sister and why it's very important for them to be her emotional support in case a boy breaks her heart and how it's very bad to break a girl's heart

"Fuck," he whispers when he realizes how tightly he's been holding you and lets go of you, cupping your cheeks with both hands before leaning down and pressing his lips against yours
"We're going to have a baby," he whispers against your lips before slowly kneeling down in front of you, lifting up your shirt to press a kiss to your stomach
"See you in nine months, buddy."

The pregnancy has been going very smoothly, minus the few times where you wanted to throw up over your, usually, favorite food
or the mood swings that always happened out of nowhere and confused the living crap out of Issei but he was understanding enough to not ask you why you were feeling a certain way and just held you in his arms when you needed it and gave you space when you wanted it
You had an appointment today to finally find out the gender of the baby and you told Issei not to accompany you since you wanted to surprise him
Knowing him very well, he could easily yell at the doctor's office out of happiness so you wanted to keep it a surprise and reveal it to him once you were back home
So Matsukawa was already back home when you walked through the apartment door with a bag in your hands, the man who happened to be your husband sitting on the couch jumped when he heard you unlocking the door and waited eagerly for you to break the news for him
"So?" he says, already out of breath and you only smile in response at him, and that's when he notices your change of clothes
you left the house wearing his grey hoodie and some leggings
and now you were wearing a pink one
saying that Issei threw a whole party to celebrate your baby girl coming is an understatement
➪ Going into labor/Giving birth
he was terrified but he didn't want to show it
you haven't been feeling well all day and your back was hurting more then usual. you couldn't even sleep to relieve some of the pressure that you felt between your legs
It was 4 in the morning when he was woken up by your scared voice calling for him from the bathroom
"Issei," your voice sounded broken and he immediately jumped from the bed until he noticed the wet floor and his eyes widened when he saw you sitting on the toilet seat, looking as pale as a sheet
"my water broke"
You had already prepared everything that you needed in a bag and you were very thankful that you didn't have contractions—yet, so you were able to walk towards the car without the need for your husband to carry you
"Contractions?" you were able to sense the fear in Issei's voice so you held his hand while he drove and rested your head on the headrest of the seat,
"they're starting to come"
and let's just say that Issei definitely didn't like how you were in pain for the next eight hours
contractions were much more intense than before, with the way your hand was squeezing his, your husband pretty much couldn't even picture the amount of pain you were in and just let you crush his hand

finally, it was time to deliver the baby
it has been eight long, gruesome and most importantly painful hours and you were finally dilated enough to start pushing and the process wasn't fun according to Issei
The pained look on your face along with the way you were squeezing his hand made him imagine just how brave you were for doing this
with each push, you'd look back at Issei and not once did you try to push him away, letting him kiss and wipe the tears away from your face and you were honestly surprised that he still found you beautiful in your current messy state
"You're doing a good job baby I'm so proud of you," he would whisper stuff similar to this until he heard the doctors ask you to push just one more time
"We can see the head! Come on, give us one more push!"
Matsukawa felt as if his heart was going to pop out of his mouth when he heard that

"(Y/N)," He whispered and leaned down to kiss your forehead as he heard her little cries and smiled down at you

As a father, Issei always tries to be there for his daughter as much as he can
the first few days after you gave birth, he asked if he could take a few days off from his job to spend with you and you bet your ass most of the female colleagues melted at his suggestion and wished him good luck
he's always there for you and your daughter
both physically and emotionally
he tries his best to decipher the reason behind the endless cries of your daughter when you're not around, from feeding her to changing her diaper and her clothes if she ever threw up
but as she starts growing older, there were many milestones to celebrate
her first words might not have been papa but he was over the moon when he heard her call you mama
"you heard that? she called you mama!" and that's when she turns towards him and calls him papa as well and you think he died
when she first started walking was also a moment to never forget cause you had just gotten home and you suddenly heard them both laughing and you were about to check what was happening when your husband and his daughter emerged from the living room with his hands holding hers, your daughter standing between her father's legs while they both waddled towards you
"welcome back mommy! come on (d/n), show her what you learned today!"
and you were about to ask her what she learned until you saw her waddle towards you on her own, a big smile on Issei's face when he saw the many emotions on your face as you caught your daughter in your arms and looked at him
"Issei-" "I know," he says and reaches towards you to hug you both very tightly
