TNEMM is everything it could wish for. not only is it a kink community, but it's also a space where girls are caring for each other and looking after each other, and trying their best to make it work.

and that's kinda scary! half of us have been rejected from groups like this before. half of us feel like outsiders even in spaces we supposedly belong. half of us struggle with our emotions and processing and expressing them. half of us are cripplingly anxious outside of our safe spaces. half of us need regular reassurance that we're wanted despite having no evidence that we're not. half of us don't believe we deserve what we want, half of us don't believe we could have it anyway. half of us are desperate for connection and friendship, we're touch-starved, affection-starved, and are so scared of anyone even remotely interested in being our friends.

there is so much trauma in our group. we've all been hurt, we're all disabled, we're all traumatised, we're all pushing through so much just to be in the same place as everyone else.

and here we are, right in the middle of it. and we're so proud of what we've made and we're so proud of all our girls, and maybe our organisational skills need some work, but we're doing it. we're doing it. we're getting together, having fun, having a good cry, loving each other, playing with each other, and enjoying ourselves. we're discovering new things about ourselves every time, and slowly growing intertwined.

and that's friggin terrifying! we're all growing closer and that means we're all so much more vulnerable to each other. we're letting down our walls and letting others in, and that's so scary!

what we're doing is the british government's worst nightmare. we're existing and expressing ourselves freely. we're spreading information about transitioning and hormones, and pushing folks who want to be pushed into getting their HRT. we're making ourselves the happiest girls we can be.

but we don't wanna get too up ourselves. looking after each other takes *work*. we can't assume everyone's going to get it, or have the skills they need to process their feelings and support others, but we are going to be there for them and do our best to help.

and maybe this time it'll be different, because we need it to be different, because we're gonna do everything we have to for it to be different.

TNEMM means so much to us all, to the miscellany and to the girls that are a part of it. it's early days, has barely been six months since it began, but if we have anything to say about it, we're gonna make it last as long as we can.
