Azuki knows her husband is into carnivores (either she picked up on context clues or he told her directly like in the anime) so naturally when he introduces her to "my high school friends Haru and Legoshi" who are a carni-herbi couple --half of which met Louis in a drama club-- she just assumes 'ah yes, that's his Queer Friend Group, makes sense'. In her autistic swag she figures the best way to show Louis her support is by bringing up Legoharu constantly even though she's met them in person exactly twice. Horns hosts an event? "We should invite Haru and Legoshi!" Louis goes out? "Are you meeting with Haru and Legoshi?" Any rabbit or wolf shows up on TV? "That reminds me of Haru/Legoshi..." Meanwhile Louis in his own autistic swag has no idea what she's on about and is just super confused like Why is my wife so obsessed with my gay friends??? Is she trying to come out or something???
What is your opinion of Els X Bill? i personally think it's a cute pair. I also like to think, Bill told her in secret about the little chick, he Pina and Aoba tried to take care of (I will not accept the Anime-Canon! IT LIVES!) and that he bawled his eyes out about the fact, that he had to give it to the police.
Els and Bill as a pairing is pretty cool to me because, aside from being plain CUTE (I mean just look at them. They’re cute. There’s no denying the facts), it would make them both queer within the Beastars universe’s logic and it just makes WAY too much sense. Bill as a queer character obviously makes sense especially since he’s introduced as a foil to Legoshi (I can see post-canon Bill coming to terms with his attraction to herbivores and asking Legoshi for advice about it kinda like Juno did. Legoshi accidentally becomes the drama club’s Queer Elder kfhfjdhd—). Els is one of the first herbivores introduced and it’s through her eyes that we get our first impression of Legoshi and how intimidating or even frightening someone like him can be to someone like her. Then they actually talk and we’re introduced to one of the central themes ("relationships are easily poisoned by fear and ignorance but you can combat this by actually communicating with other people"). So given their respective roles, Els and Bill getting together in any capacity would be really satisfying and cathartic!! (Also I have a lot of feelings about the drama club as an in-universe accidental queer space. Kai claims everyone who ends up in this club is weird and I believe him wholeheartedly) That being said shipping obviously doesn’t have to be thematically profound or anything, I mean like I said, they’re just really cute!! x)
(Also I forgot that the anime has the bird die ;—; they traded its life for Ogmas hdjfhdhdhd)
I keep wondering about something that was never addressed in Canon and how your AU handles it: would've Haru tried to convince Legoshi to get into evening classes, since he left Cherryton Academy adfter defeating Riz, because they wouldn't take him back? Would Haru argue that he shouldn't just sit on a dead-end delivery job and that he "can do far more with his life"? Not to "make him presentable", but to prove to himself that he is smart and capable. Or did Louis perhaps help him out, to get a chance to properly finish his education?
Oh! I think that actually was kinda addressed in canon? It’s implied that Legoshi is still studying high school subjects and Itagaki’s "farewell" message to him in vol 22 mentions something about getting some sort of high school diploma equivalent so he can work in an insectarium (something that he mentioned wanting to do). A chapter of Beast Complex has him as a first year university student so one can only assume he did end up getting that hs diploma equivalent. Did Haru have something to do with it? It’s entirely possible. It’s all from the top of my head tho so I might be wrong…
Sorry that not really what you were asking though!! (°~°) You asked about my fankidsverse specifically (which btw I keep referring to as ‘my AU’ but aside from Legoshi’s ear is technically canon compliant ifzfhfhf), but I always kinda assumed that was what happened there. ^^ Hope this answers your question!!
Hi! I was wondering what Noko's relationship with Harry and Legoshi is like? Seeing as Louis views "their" child as his own,do they see his as "theirs" too? Is there any discontent between her siblings that get to live with their father full time, and herself?
(Long post warning kjhgfdxsdfghjk)
Oohhhhhh I’m SO glad you asked! (Seriously, it makes me overjoyed to see people ask about my silly fan characters *^* thank you so much!!) Noko is absolutely their daughter as far as Haru and Legoshi are concerned, but the situation is indeed a bit complex. x)
If there is anything different about their relationship with Noko compared to their other kids, it has less to do with her not legally being theirs and more to do with the fact that she’s their only fully herbivore child. Legoshi especially has this whole thing about people he sees as more vulnerable than himself and he is still kinda sexist (in that he sees women as more vulnerable) so I think having a herbivore daughter would make him extremely protective of her (he’s protective of all his children but with Noko it’s like, excessive at first). Haru ofc calls him out on it and I like to think he gets better and less anxious with time… He’s learning! ^^’ Legoshi and Noko don’t really get to spend time one-on-one in public though, because Legoshi is worried (maybe justifiably so) about what people might assume if they saw a little herbivore girl alone with an adult male carnivore. :( As soon as Noko is old enough to understand it she finds it really unfair, so as she hits her late teens she starts constantly taking Legoshi on outings to make up for the lost time. In general, older Noko has ZERO patience for anyone treating her family unfairly, especially her hybrid siblings.
Haru and Noko I feel like share a close bond, and remain close as she grows up. You know how sometimes toddlers go through that phase when they only want one specific caregiver with them and will refuse anyone else? Yeah, Noko absolutely went through that with Haru. x) Which caused some problems because as you pointed out, they don’t live together full time. Azuki and Louis got divorced when Noko was 1 which is pretty damn young to start shared custody and might be a bit delicate, but I’ve also seen way younger in my line of work lol (I work in daycare). Noko and Haru also have the same tastes in food and Noko is quite the picky eater, so she goes through phases when she’ll only eat something if Haru either made it or personally assured her it was good. :p Noko thinks Haru is super cool and she likes to learn things about plants from her. They garden together quite a lot. ^^
I think all of Lougoharu’s kids are taught pretty early on that there are two types of parents: the parents who made you and the parents who take care of you. For most kids these two overlap, but not always, which is how Lila, Noko and Shiki can all be siblings even if they each have a different set of bio parents. This is easy enough for them to understand at a pretty young age because it’s always been their normal. What is less easy to understand (especially for Lila) is why Noko gets to have TWO bedrooms and TWO homes when Lila only gets one (highly unfair :p), but in my mind it’s like, nothing more than pretty normal sibling stuff (like when your older sibling gets to have later bedtime or something, y’know?). Lila and Shiki are well acquainted with Azuki and know her as "Noko’s Mama" (Haru is Mommy for all of them). Family reunions where everyone is present are quite rare, though, but they can happen on occasions such as Noko’s birthday. As far as Noko is concerned, she’s just extremely lucky to have so many parents! And a sister and brother, of course. :D

Need to stop going on reddit because it keeps making me mad but my Beastars fan art has been doing good on there and my brain is addicted to Comments and Number Go Up.
I say Lougoharu is one of my favourite "love triangle to be solved with polyamory" things but let's be honest here canon doesn't even PRETEND like they're a real love triangle. Legoshi is jealous of Louis over Haru for .01 seconds and they exchange like... 2 punches over her and it's less about who gets the girl and more of an ideological clash. Then by the ending both Haru and Louis are head over heels for Legoshi (implied in Louis's case but cmon now we have eyes) but they don't even fight over him or anything they just meet at a festival and go "ugh that hunk :/ :/ he's so dumb <3 <3".
The actual love triangle is that Haru is a Lougoshi truther Louis is a Legoharu truther and Legoshi doesn't believe he deserves nice things.
As businesspeople both Azuki and Ogma are the kind to go into conversations with like 500 scripted routes because their spontaneous selves are very blunt and no-nonsense and not PR friendly (talking about manga Azuki here bc as much as I appreciate the anime giving her more scenes they kinda changed her entire personality). I like to think they got along pretty well when Ogma was alive specifically because they could talk business to each other without sugarcoating anything and it was refreshing to them. However Azuki can code switch and fake-smile like it’s nobody’s business while Ogma doesn’t see a difference between greeting his secretary and greeting his five year old son.
Louis also has autism but you don’t need me to tell you that.
Re-reading manga is all fun and games until you have to face what blorbo used to look like

AU where 14-year-old Louis takes a Beastfeed "Am I Into Carnivores" quiz and takes the results to heart and it solves 90% of his problems. Instead of being a weird antagonistic asshole in early canon he’s just tripping over himself trying to ask Legoshi out send post.
Beastars has such a large cast and I adore SO many of the characters but you wouldn’t know it because I only ever draw like 3 of them. The reason why is that I am a COMPLETE beginner when it comes to anthro art which means that for every new character I want to make fan art of I have to actually learn how to draw them which takes me forever. Rip to Bill Els Dom Sagwan Seven Ogma Cosmo Yahya Gosha Kyuu Gohin Azuki Toki Leano Jack Pina Melon & the entire Shishigumi but you’re gonna have to wait. I’m still figuring out how to draw Lougoharu.
[ID: Beastars fan comic featuring Louis and Legoshi. Louis is shown grinning smugly at Legoshi and is labelled as "teasing him relentlessly about the leg thing". Legoshi is sheepish and labelled as "flustered AF". Louis says: "What? You can’t tell me you didn’t enjoy it". Legoshi, blushing, stammers: "I..I-", then calms down and says: "I… did. You tasted amazing, Louis." Louis looks at him in shock, then in the next panel, turns away from Legoshi with his face bright red, surrounded by both pink hearts and question marks. Behind him, a horrified Legoshi covers his mouth and starts frantically monologuing: "Oh I’m sorry did I scare you I didn’t mean to I just wanted to be honest but I shouldn’t have said something like this I’m—". He is oblivious to Louis’s expression. /end ID]
