Welcome to the Misfits Fanzine sign-up. The theme is… For the love of Misfits! It will be a free-to-read e-zine that celebrates the 15th anniversary of the show and the fans' love for it.
We are looking for visual artists (fanart), fanfiction writers, writers (Think pieces, character analysis, plot deep dives, and mini-essays), and things in between (Cosplay, Character RPs, Playlists makers, etc)
This is a volunteer-based project - No profit will be made or given out.
This will be a digital e-zine that is completely free to read.
You must be 16+ to participate in this project. Most collaborators will be over 18, so keep that in mind. Everyone is expected to act maturely.
Contributors can likely take on more than one piece, depending on the number of applicants.
Only take on what you can. If you can no longer participate or need to drop a piece, let administration know as soon as possible so we can sort everything out.
No plagiarizing or uses of AI!
We want to keep the zine as PG-13 as possible, but due to the nature of the show, a lot of leeway will be possible, just no explicit sexual content and extreme gore/violence.
The primary way of communication will be through a Discord server. You will be expected to be kind and reasonable. This is technically a fan environment, and we want everyone to feel appreciated, included, and have fun, but this will be treated like a professional environment, so please keep that in mind.
All finished work must be new and not currently posted anywhere online! Work can be posted to the collaborator's social media shortly after the zine is published.
All pieces must be submitted by November 3rd at the latest.

Would multiple pieces be allowed?
It depends on the number of applicants. If we get many applicants (20+), then most likely not, unless you wish to do multiple mediums (ex., a page of art and a short fanfiction.) However, if we get under ten applicants, then it would be appreciated if contributors could add more pieces.
At this moment, it looks plausible that contributors could do more than one piece, as interest in the zine is currently low.
We also want to encourage contributors to help with other small art for different sections of the zine, such as having fanfiction contributors also do a drabble based on a prompt of their choosing. Or for artists to do simple character art for the character poll winners (or a short comic) or a simple screen cap redraw of the winning episode polls. But it won't be enforced as we don't want to put too much pressure on contributors. Only take on what you can. :)
Please don't be afraid to ask other questions, especially if it's something specific. :)
The Misfits fanzine is currently in the first stages of development!

But we need help with suggestions on what should be included in the zine. With this zine being about the fans' love of the show, we don't want to limit the collaborators to just visual art and writing.
This is where you come in! What would you like to be a part of the zine?
There are plans for fanart and fanfiction, along with a questionnaire about fans' favourite seasons, episodes, characters, ships, etc.; the data will be included in the zine.
We don't want to limit the fandom's writers to just fanfiction, so if collaborators wish, think pieces, character analysis, plot deep dives, and mini-essays are also possible. (But there will be a word limit! Same with any fanfiction.)
The same goes for artists! It doesn't just have to be digital art; it can be any form of media that you can photograph or scan into a good-quality photo that's uploaded as a PNG or JPEG file.
Other possible ideas:
-If the community's roleplayers want to contribute, we can work something out, such as conducting a Q&A in character. -If there is demand, we can do a cosplay page. -We want to celebrate the many original character creators and self-shippers in the fandom. We could do an introduction page or something similar. -And, of course, playlist makers! (But they will be limited to 74 minutes per playlist. Think of it being a CD mix.)

It will lean toward a general audience; ship work is allowed, but it shouldn't be the main focus. The rating will be Mature. Anything that goes in the show goes here!
Applications for collaborators will open by July 10th and close by July 22nd; we will also be reaching out to not just the Tumblr community.
The current goal is for collaborators to start their pieces by August 1st and be done by November 1st.
