STARTER CALL l @misguidedtrxst
It had been a long track to disappearing completely from the eyes of the wizarding world, even harder when she wanted to simply watch the Wizarding World burn. But she had a task to do, one that would have to involve her making a re-entrance into the society as she searched for the not so dead boy who was being called The Last Living Lestrange. It had taken some time and alot of tracking but there he was, standing in front of her.
“C-Corvus?” There were tears in her eyes as she approached the man, her arms trembling. “Corvus is that you?”
“That’s okay.” She smiled, doing her best to reassure him for a moment though everything in her features genuinely fell as he spoke. “What… What do you mean?” A strange panic was present on her voice as she looked him up and down. “Is… Is she sick?”
“I-I was talking to her and someone killed her…” he mumbled, looking down again. “Im really sorry… i-i tried to help but I couldn’t catch him…” he started fidgeting with his hands again.
Leta blinked at him, looking shocked, sniffing before tears watered in her eyes, hands trembling a bit. After a moment she swallowed, a tight smile finding her face as her hand was placed onto his shoulder, tears falling down her face. “P-Please don’t be sorry..” She awkwardly chuckled, unsure of what else. “We’ll find him. A-And I know you did your best.” She promised, squeezing his shoulder while the other wiped away her tears. “You have nothing to be sorry for. I am sorry you had to see that.”
“It’s not the worst thing I’ve ever seen… I’m just sorry I couldn’t save her.” He replied, half tempted to offer a hug when he saw her crying but unsure how she’d take it. Instead he just gently pat her arm.
As he pat her arm she looked up at him, smiling a bit as she sniffed, looking down. “It’s okay…. She just… she… she practically raised us.” She confessed, a few more tears falling from her eyes. “Please dont be sorry.” She whispered. “I am simply sorry that I am breaking down right now. Not a great early impression.” She chuckled a bit, shaking her head as she locked her eyes to the ground. “You shouldn’t have seen worse. Father should have gotten you out.. I am sorry.”
He frowned slightly, hesitating a second before pulling her into a hug. “Don’t be sorry. It’s okay to be upset over what happened, god knows I was. Probably more than I should’ve been with how little I knew her.” He shrugged slightly. Of course, they definitely reacted differently, but he still doubted she’d do what he did if she had been there too. “And honestly it’s fine… uh… it’s kind of my fault, the things I saw… there’s no one to blame but me.”
She held him tight, a whine small in her throat, shaking her head as she swallowed down her tears. “No… No it’s fathers fault….” She spoke though dropped the point and instead tried to sooth herself, sniffing. “You did nothing Credence. Please… None of this is your fault… I should be the one apologizing.” Though for what, Leta knew she could not possibly say. She was simply speaking what she felt she must while trying to focus in on calming herself. “It will be better now.” She settled instead, forcing a smile. “I… I promise.”
“No, Leta, there’s things that happened back in New York that I don’t think you’re aware of…” he said, though he chose to leave it there, not willing to explain in case it risked scaring off the only family he’d managed to find. “It’ll be better now,” he agreed, gently wiping the tears off her face.
“B-But you wouldn’t have been…” She simply sighed lightly, shaking her head and closing her eyes, sniffing harshly to try and stop her tears as her own arms wrapped around the boy. “I am so sorry… Whatever it was, you did not deserve it and I shall be right here should you want to talk on it.”
“It’s… It’s not really something I think I’m going to be talking about if it can be avoided. It wasn’t pleasant and… well, it wasn’t pleasant, I’ll leave it there.” He said, hugging her when he felt her arms around him.
“Right.. S-Sorry.” But that only made her hold the boy tighter, hoping to comfort him on the said matter. “I promise I won’t ask again. You won’t have to talk about it again.” But that was that, and simply a hope. Pulling away, she smiled kindly, looking about before standing. “I… You need rest, Credence. This… It’s a lot. I will go keep an eye out.”
“No, no, you can ask all you want, I don’t mind it’s just… it’s not something I can really talk about right now.” He explained softly, “I did a thing I shouldn’t be proud of and I don’t want it to scare you off.” It was a half assed excuse but it was true. “You don’t have to stay up. This place is abandoned, no one is gonna come mess with us or whatever.”
Leta shook her head, smiling a little to the boy, “You don’t know the things I have done, little brother. Nor the things I have seen.” No one truly did, and she had had intentions of keeping it that way… Though perhaps some secrets could be spared if it meant building up his trust. “You’re my family. My only true family. I am not moving. I promise.” Staying up, however was a different matter. He was being hunted. “I suppose I’ll take your word for it.” She smiled lightly his way.
“Nor do you know the things I’ve done or seen. Guess we both have kinda a shitty backstory.” He laughed softly. It wasn’t really a thing to laugh about but he didn’t care. “I promise we’re safe here. Even if someone dropped by, they wouldn’t be able to hurt us.”
She gave him a small smile, sniffing a bit as she pulled away, instead leaning her head on the man’s shoulder. “It doesn’t matter anymore. We aren’t in out backstory.” Though her eyes widened a bit, looking at his worried in his direction. “How? What do you mean?”
“Oh uh... So the thing is, I’m not... I’m not exactly magic... I mean, I was, at one point, but now I have some.... thing, I don’t know what it is, someone tried to explain but then the American aurors showed up, that was a whole situation... Anyway, it’s kind of a decent protection system.”

An eyebrow raised upwards, seriousness overwhelming her face as she fought back the urge to laugh. “You sure about that? Because last I checked I’m the one who knows where we are going. Also I’d watch it Barebone.” She smirked up at him, rolling her eyes. “I’m not short. I’m just particularly small.”
“Not short, she says,” he laughed, walking backwards as he spoke to her, “Leta, there is a nine inch height difference between us.” He said, “Walk faster, you’ll fall behind.”
“There’s a difference between short and particularly small. And maybe you are just particularly tall.” Let’s smirked up at him, rolling her eyes. “I am walking fast. You walk slower. Or don’t. Could use with less jabs on my height. Or lack of.”
“I don’t think I can count as particularly tall when your fiance and his brother are both also pretty tall. They’re both taller than me.” He pointed out, “You’re making just as many jabs at your height.”

“Did she hurt you?”
“Oh, but she doesn’t do it every day – just once or twice a week.”
“We all got to work out our own problems.”
“Ow! You got my finger!“
“Well, why don’t you get your finger out of the way!“
“Now lookit, [name], you ain’t using your head. Think you didn’t have any brains at all.”
“Oh, you just won’t listen, that’s all.“
“Well, your head ain’t made of straw, you know.“
“She ain’t nothing to be afraid of. Have a little courage, that’s all.”
“Help! Help me, [name!] Get me out of here! Help!”
“Some day they’re going to erect a statue to me in this town, and –”
“Here, here – can’t work on an empty stomach.“
“You always get yourself into a fret over nothing.“
“Now, you just help us out today, and find yourself a place where you won’t get into any trouble.“
“If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow, why, oh, why can’t I?”
“You mean she bit you?“
“That dog’s a menace to the community.”
“I’m the one that ought to be punished.“
“Unless you want to go against the law.“
“Now you’re seeing reason.“
“You wicked old witch!“
“I’ve been dying to tell you what I thought of you! And now – well, being a Christian woman, I can’t say it!“
“You came back! Oh, I’m so glad!“
“Well, well, well – house guests, huh? And who might you be?”
“No, no – now don’t tell me.”
“Let’s see – you’re – you’re traveling in disguise. No, that’s not right. I – you’re – you’re going on a visit. No, I’m wrong. That’s…You’re – running away.“
“I thought you were going along with me.“
“Poor little kid, I hope she gets home all right.”
“Everybody in the storm cellar!“
“I’ve got a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore.“

❛ i … really don’t feel so hot . no , not like that — shut up . ❜ -misguidedtrxst
[ @misguidedtrxst ]
“You can’t ‘shut up’ a gaze, Credence. And I was just going to say that I was proud of you for finally opening your eyes to the truth. ” She laughed shaking her head as a fierce blush overwhelmed them, though she was a little bit worried. Far more than a bit worried in truth, kneeling down beside him as a hand found his forehead. “Hmmm well you might not be feeling so hot, but your forehead is. Which means you stay here. And I go borrow some food. Any other symptoms I should make note of?”
“I dunno. Haven’t been sick in a while.” He shrugged a little, leaning into the hand on his forehead. He hadn’t even really meant to tell her he wasn’t feeling well, he usually just powered through when he got sick. “Dunno what I shouldn’t be feeling.”
Are you upset that Nagini didn’t walk with you?
“No... No, I could never be upset with her for that. Friends don’t always walk the same paths. We’ll meet again one day, I’m sure of it. I just hope she isn’t upset with me for leaving.”
What do you plan to do when this war is over?
“I don’t make plans. I might be able to control this whole obscurial thing but that doesn’t mean it’s not still stronger than I am.”
Why are you so goddamn cute?
“Well that depends on the asker. If this is Nagini ((or anyone else Creeds has shipped with)) , then no, you. Anyone else, thank you but I don’t have an answer.”
