"And don't think we've forgotten it," she joked. Molly was a missing piece underground, one that they all desperately missed. Carrie wouldn't push them, though. She knew better than anyone how damaging it was for a bloodline hunter to become a vampire. To be turned. She was just happy to see them. "Ha... Yeah, it does. It does fucking suck." Carrie considered their question, looking down at her feet before answering. "I, uh, I broke up with him."

"I'm glad my reputation still survives," Molly said, and they meant it. As Carrie revealed a bit about the break up, all Molly could say was, "oh. Wow." That certainly was unexpected. Molly had missed more than they had imagined thanks to their self-imposed isolation. Sure, they'd forced themself to get used to lack of physical connection, but the emotional side of things...Well. "Okay. So, before we go forward, I need to know if the vibe is 'fuck him' or is it more sad girl hours?"

"I know my vampires." Meghan had hoped she could rope someone else into joining her for a drink. She needed it. "There we go. Come on, let's go to Franks."

The reminder of what they were, coming from someone that Molly wasn't particularly close to, it wasn't pleasant, but they forced themselves to smile. "Can't say no to Franks. Lead the way I guess."

"Oh, um... No? Sorry, should I have?" Mireya was stumbling over herself–drowning even–as she tried to keep up with who the most important people here were. She had never been to a party anywhere near as extravagant as this one, but she had been excited to attend with Joseph since he was able to get time off from touring for the holidays. "You're from Manhattan?"

"Well, I think everyone should meet Lee, but I am admittedly very biased on the matter," Samuel admitted. "As my grandfather would say, she is the bees' knees." At her question, he nodded. "Guilty as charged."

"You came here all the way from Manhattan for this? Damn, didn't realise anyone cared that much about the Havensdale Valley elite." Tony shook his head. He may have once upon a time lived in New York, but he was a bit out of touch with who was important. "Can't say I have. The only contact I have with New York these days is with my dipshit best friend."

"We have a lot of friends in town," Samuel explained with an easy shrug of his shoulders. "I wouldn't brave New York traffic for mere acquaintances." Well, he supposed it had been a bit of a stretch that a complete stranger would have seen his wife. "And I doubt your 'dipshit friend' saw her either. Naw, that'd be crazy."

"I'm glad, she's a total badass. Um... did you try by the tartlets? Saying that, Chuck Cooper might have hoovered them all up by now. There's way too much going on in here. My best advice is to wait here at the bar, safest place for it." Krys flashed a grin, waving a hand. "Your big head'll just make it easier for Lee to find you instead."

"Sorry, did you say tartlets? Now, what flavor would they be? Because if they have goat cheese, I'm interested. More because I love some goat cheese, but...Anyways, she might be there. You know Lee, takes nutrition very seriously." Samuel rolled his eyes at the big head comment. "I'll take that as you complimenting me on having a massive brain, thanks."

"The rumours are true," she replied, flashing a grin at him. It was almost impossible not to like Samuel Vaughn. "I don't know what I've done for that honour but you're welcome," she joked. "How have you been? Is Lee here with you?"

"Now, Karen, let's be serious, of course you deserve all the honors." Look at what she'd gone through. Not that Samuel wanted to remind Karen of that, not in the middle of the party. "I'm good. Molly is a little terror in the best way possible. And Lee was dealing with the coat check, but she should be joining us shortly."

"Yeah, I get that," he sighed. Joey still hadn't told anybody else yet about what had happened to him. He would, of course, but appreciated it wasn't easy. He looked at them now and felt a pang in his chest. Joey would have done anything to protect Molly from this. He wondered now if they even knew that, if he'd let them know that enough. "Molly... You know that I love you, right? You're the first person I ever loved. I mean, I've loved you all our lives. You're my best friend. Nothing would have changed that, and it still won't."

Molly wanted to wrap their arms around Joey, tell him that everything would be okay, that they would both be okay, but Molly wasn't even sure if they believed that (they did not, not really) and they did not want to keep lying to him. "I had a feeling you felt that way, yeah. No, but for real, I love you too Joey. Like, you're one of the most important people in my life." Him and Val, but Molly wasn't going to bring Val into this. "And you're mine. No matter what. Shake on it?"

"Rotting mostly." Meghan looked at Molly, shaking her head a bit. "I'm not ever worried about feelings. Want to grab a drink? Not blood."

"That's not...Well, it's not inaccurate. I'll give you that." Molly made a face, but the idea of a non-blood drink, it had its appeal. "Okay, what the hell? Why not?"

"You were beyond justified for that, Molly." Carrie held her gaze, eyes full of concern and regret, and an unspoken understanding. She let out an unexpected laugh at Molly's question. "Oh, boy. Well... you know there's never a dull day down there. Or one where anyone minds their own business." Carrie paused then, deciding if she was going to say it or not. It would definitely act as a distraction. "Me and Alex broke up."

"That makes me feel marginally like the raging bitch I know I was and do continue to be. I do have a slight reputation to uphold." At Carrie's "old boy," Molly couldn't help but lean forward a little. "Oh boy is right. Wow, Carrie. I mean, I'm sorry. That fucking sucks, obviously." What was a kind way to ask someone to spill the tea about their break up? "Do you want to talk about it?"

Cece stopped in front of her, having heard her speaking to someone else, and tilted her head in confusion. "You only drink every other night?"

Molly lifted a shoulder in a half-shrug. "Sometimes. I mean, that's the goal, but my control isn't always, you know, perfect."

Carrie let out a little laugh, 'long time no see' barely scratched the surface on what she wanted to say to them. When Molly was turned last August, Carrie hadn't understood why they'd ran. Now, she understood painfully well. "I'm sorry I didn't reach out after I... Well, I'm just sorry. We're, um, fighting the good fight. I am fighting the good fight. It's not so easy now, though."

If anyone understood the hell that Molly was living in (had lived in) it would be Carrie McReid. Molly should have reached out to her sooner. God, hindsight was a bitch, wasn't it. "No, it's not your fault. I wasn't exactly in a social mood, was I?" Now, that was an understatement. "Yeah? Any highlights? Any hot goss I should know about?" Acting like it was just a normal conversation, it almost made Molly feel better.

Joey shook his head, brow furrowed at their words. If anything, Molly should be mad at him. He remembered enough from the other night to know that he'd tried to... That he could have hurt them. The shame curled his stomach as he stared down at his shoes. No apology felt big enough - good enough - so instead he said quietly, "You could have told me..." He'd figured out enough before but now he was a werewolf, he just knew they were a vampire.

The look on Joey's face, that look of sadness, of hurt, of betrayal, that is why Molly had never told him about this part of their life, even before the dome had come down and they had been turned into a vampire. Joey hadn't deserved to deal with all the drama that the supernatural brought with it, and Molly hadn't wanted to be the one to bring it into his life. And now...Well now it was too late. "It's complicated," Molly said, at last. It was a stupid answer.

Lana wrinkled her nose in disgust, backing up a few steps. "Nice to hear that human lives are just a joke to you."

The words went through Molly like a knife, hitting them like nothing had hit them in quite some time. "No, that's not what I meant. I don't...I care about humans."

Meghan shrugged as she looked at Molly. "If that's how you take it, I love it. What are you up to?"

"Well, what does it look like I'm up to? And you can be honest. No need to worry about my feelings."

"Dang. A vamp pun at this time of day? You're doin' way too much work here, Mol," Jake teased softly. "Ah, don't even worry 'bout it. I hear us wolves are an acquired taste, anyways."

"It wasn't intentional. Fine, it wasn't fully intentional." Molly didn't want to lie to Jack, after all. At the idea of willingly biting a wolf, they couldn't help but make a face. "Oh, no, pass, thank you very much."

"You took the words right out of my mouth." Carrie appeared at Molly's side with a small smile on her face. "Hey, stranger. Long time, no see."

Molly forced themself to smile up as Carrie approached. "I could say the same to you. How are your things in your neck of the woods?"

"I guess I can't promise the same anymore, huh?"

They couldn't help but wince at Joey's words. "I've broken my share of promises," Molly managed. It sounded half-hearted at best.
